Star Jones is cleaning out her closet, first to go was gold-digging Gaylord, Al Reynolds, now it’s her old team on the view:
“Those girls were hateful,” Jones says of her former co-hosts. In a new interview in the November issue of Essence magazine, Jones also opens up about “falling into a depression” after losing her self-titled Court TV show last year; her ongoing dispute with Barbara Walters (“Barbara set me up”); and her divorce from Al Reynolds, which was finalized in September. Responding directly to Reynolds’s infamous YouTube videos, in which he stated he “still loves” Star, Jones responds bluntly: “I’m not in love with him.” Jones, who laid low after the abrupt cancellation of her Court TV show, is currently in talks to make a non-scripted TV comeback. A sense of renewal she says she gained after spending an Under The Tuscan Sun-style summer at an Italian villa with girlfriends, including Natalie Cole.
Between Barbara Wah-Wah’s antique ass and Elisabeth Hasselbeth’s mentally challenged chatter, we’re sure that it must have been nastier than a hobo’s feet behind the scenes. Gaylord Al still needs to get a new hustle, his gravy train left a long time ago. That fairy needs a j-o-b!

Well Star JOnes was giving an interview and I am sure they wanted to know how it was working on the view. Any time you have more than 1 woman it will be drama so them being hateful I can see, women are catty.

Stop hating on Star, she is looking good and feeling good about herself. I have watched her on the air; on the view and other programs and I never felt that she was in denial about her Blackness. She always came across as a strong, intelligent, independent, self-assured, Black woman. Now I do think that Al is gay, and he was after her money. She finally wised up and got away from that troll. Her problems on the View started when she began to lose weight, the weight loss changed her from the resident ‘mammy’ into someone who was actually beginning to give the white women a run for their money – in other words-white women value weight as one indicator of beauty; they can be ugly as hell but if they are skinny then they are pleased with themselves. When she was heavy, Star was like the nurturing mother/mammy – think Butterfly McQueen in Gone With the Wind (sexually neutered), but when she started losing weight then she became competition. And we all know that the goal in life is to eliminate the competition. I do not think it is anyone’ business how Star lost her weight or tightened up her skin. So let us get beyond the baseless ill feelings that we have against Star and wish her well with the rest of her life!

I totally believe her about the Barbara Walters thing. They wanted to fire her but paint it like she made the decision so they wouldn’t have to explain why she was a problem. Elizabeth is 100x more annoying than Star and probably has a lower viewer confidence rating so why is she still there? Bosses are never straight forward anymore.

Star needs to let that View stuff go, its over abd she was no angel on there herself. She was damn annoying. As far as Hasselbeck that was her best friend on the show and the one who stayed in contact after.
Star needs to give it up and try handling things in a more classy and positive manner. Her constant need to drudge up the past and be spiteful is only damaging her chances at future success. If you are done with those “hateful girls” then be done with them and stop talking about them and your time at The View.

The parents on the shows you mentioned being they were older thought they were the stars. In the case of John Amos it really was a contract dispute. On Family Ties Micheal J. Fox upstatged Meridith Baxter Birney, which caused the same tension as with Fresh Prince.

Star needs to STFU! From what people inside the industry say, she is no picnic to deal with. Star need to take some personal responsibility for everything that has happened over the past 3yrs. Her old tired, lonely, stretch out puccy fell head over heals for a gay hustler. She became NY’s #1 bridezilla & let it effect her job. She lost the best gig she ever had and now want to say those girls were hateful. She would go back in a NY minute is she were asked.
Anyone with eyes and ears can tell working with those view women (Barbara and Elizabeth mainly) aint no walk in the park. But I thought the whole show with them was to agree to disagree on subjects. You can tell Barbara does not like to loose on her show, but Star showed her A$$ one way or another.

Star is too bright to keep living in the past. Even if she were asked a question about “The View girls”, she should have made a short (positive) response to show she’s the bigger (not literally) person. I’m with the person who says she needs to dust off her law license and put it to work. I’m sure there are several people in this world who could use her help. And the way the script played out, I’m sure Barbara used some underhanded ish to give Star the boot, but I do believe that Star is probably a handful and a 1/2 to work with. You lost you “nice” when you lost your weight, and you are now just a greedy mean person. No one is perfect. The most recent thing one might choose to remember about Star is her defense of Michelle Obama & black women in general when Bill O’reiley from Fox News referred to her in a disrepectful & deragatory manner.
In a jam, Star comes off as a woman who if she’s your friend will have your back. This is a woman who seems to have life long friends or at the very least long term friendships. That alone speaks for itself. Without needing to (i.e. non blacks adore wealthy blacks), she surrounds herself with many beautiful black women & they seem to genuinely like her.
Star wanted “black love” at all costs like so many black women do. When you have the wealth & exposure that she had, it was probably difficult for her to attract a black man who had more, equal or at least could hold his own. Black women know that its taboo for to want what any other race of women want (someone that’s able to take care of his family). When its expressed by a black woman, they are immediately labled a gold digger. If it’s expressed by a NON black woman, they are wise & prudent.
In the 2000’s when black men (especially celebs) attain a certain level of wealth & fame, they cannot marry a woman like Star… who is beautiful but she is not NON black, doesn’t look NON black & is not a size 2. A black man knows that he would be publicly ridiculed & demoralized by their own race of people. Sorry to say but it’s the rare individual who can stand up to such a public beating.
Star herself couldn’t stand up to the constant speculation that Al Reynolds “is gay”. To so many on the outside looking in, it was pretty clear that there is a chance that he is but she so desparately wanted “black love”. From the stories, it appears that Al wined, dined, bowed to her every wish & was a great friend & listener. She wanted to believe in their relationship & wanted to show the world (which was her 1st mistake) that a man that looked like Al (pretty) would “choose” a woman like her. She should’ve taken a page from the Beyonce/Jay-Z book & kept it private. A relationship is no ones business. She left herself wide open & couldn’t take the heat once the fairy tale wedding was over.
Star right now seems very sad. I hope she gets her edge back & comes back to the Star that knows that she is smart (with or without media coverage) & knows that she’s beautiful with or without a pretty man on her arm.

I don’t believe for one minute that Star said anything about Eliz Hasselback, she actually likes Liz. It’s Joy that she doesnt like. Joy can be a biarch sometimes. Joy was jealous of Star and Barb wah wah was too because Star got the attention. Star had class and the view now have Whoopi, ghetto rich, Sheri, dumb and Eliz dumber and the menopause Queens Barb and Joy. The View sucks. Meredith and Star has class, say what you want about Star. She is smart and intelligent and had a girly style that I loved.
