Quote Of The Day: Former “Fab 5” Baller Jimmy King “I Thought Grant Hill Was A B*tch”

- By Bossip Staff Categories: Ballers, Blast From the Past, Hi Hater

Cotdamn! Talk about keepin’ it gangsta!

Last night ESPN aired a special on the famed “Fab Five”, the five freshmen basketball players at The University of Michigan (Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, Juwan Howard, and Ray Jackson) that took the world by storm in 1991.

During the 2 hour special, several interviews and confessionals took place. In one epic scene, Jimmy King speaks on how the phenomenal freshmen felt about Duke University at that point in time.

The resulting few seconds will likely be talked about for the rest of the year:

“I thought Grant Hill was a b*tch.”

Damn bruh, tell ’em how you REALLY feel! Shout out to Mr. King though, we’ll always applaud someone who keeps it 100

I’m pretty sure Grant Hill thought the same thing about you guys. And everyone needs to remember that this is from there standpoint as 18 year old kids.

    Did you not read FRESHMAN!!!!!

  • Venger

Jimmy, Grant Hill made you his b!tch in that Championship game. Too bad you never made it to the NBA, you could have been his b!tch there too. And Tamia is a really bad chick, what does your wife look like?

He’s calling Grant Hill a bit@ch because Grant Hill tends to live a lifestyle that isn’t familiar with most African Americans, meaning its out of the ordinary and not part of the norm in the AA community. Grant is someone who is extremely respectful and generous to people especially to women. You have to understand these man in 19991 were at there prime, women were flaunting there bodies at them, and being the typical AA men I am sure aside from Grant Hill these men participated in activities that degraded the women. I guess they found his approach to life to be different hence why he refers to him a btch.

    • Miss U Much MJJ....Lovely1

He was talking about how he felt at the time in 1991 at 18 years old. NOT NOW!! Grant had what many of them didn’t-rich upbringing & a two parent home. While they all had to struggle growing up.
Jimmy said I THOUGHT not I THINK. Past tense not present!

LMAO. When I saw that I died on the floor laughing because I was thinking the same thing. And they said the same thing about christian laettner calling him “soft”.

But on that note, its time to stop blaming CWebb for that game. When he called the timeout they were down by 2. ANDDDD

    • Boston

they zoomed in on the bench and someone told him to call timeout!!

  • Monday...blah

I wonder if everyone who is complaining about what the Fab 5’s viewpoints were even took the time to see the special? You take one quote and run with it…instead of taking the time to see where it was generated. Jalen even said he didnt resent Grant Hill he just resented his upbringing since he his own father was absent and even played in the NBA! I liked how raw it was. Had it been JUST about the games it would’ve been boring. I enjoyed hearing what their viewpoints are. Regardless if they sounded mad or whatever. They were keeping it real. Even when Jimmy called Laetner a P**** he came back and said when they played he had game. So dont make it seem like all they were doing was complaining. They were keeping it real.

Thats how it is in basketball. The other team is always the enemy. And the hate runs deep. And to agree with the Fab Five black Duke players are Uncle Toms. Real talk.

The majority of the people who are commenting probably didn’t see the special, they just read the headlines and then ran with it. But that is how society is today. Instead of getting the full story they take bits and pieces and make a decision on right and wrong from their point of view. It was an excellent special. Peace!
