Now that Solange Knowles has made a name for herself outside of Bey Bey’s shadow as a DJ, she’s using her other God given talent to make it RAIN for Africa. Literally.
Solo partnered with indie singers Chris Taylor and Twin Shadow to record the new song “Kenya” to benefit The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation’s Replenish Africa Initiative, aka Rain.
“Water is a necessity, it’s not a privilege,” Solange says. “The ‘Music for Rain’ project gives everyone a chance to contribute and play a part in improving the situation.”
The single, which you can hear below, can be downloaded at MusicForRain.net for however much you want to donate to the cause, and the money will go towards the effort to raise $10,000 for clean water projects in Rwanda, Uganda, and Cameroon… but not Kenya. Random, right?
