On the night of October 29, 1996, two police officers and a civilian participating in a ride-along program drove past a group of men who were gathered in a group and appeared to be rolling dice on a sidewalk (shooting craps is against the law in Indiana) of course every one ran. One unlucky man and one gun was found, no where near each other! You tell me???? Should he have been in the federal penitentary to begin with? NO!!!! Was the gun his?NO!!!DID THEY FINGERPRINT THE GUN?NO!!!DID THEY BUST IN HIS SISTERS DOOR LOOKING FOR EVIDENCE MR. JACKSON KEPT GUNS? YES...DID THEY FIND THAT EVIDENCE?NO...NO...NO... I told her that if something of that horrible nature were actually to happen that it owuld have to be strictly goverment controlled, because secret service is basically his shadow. She then told me how it is someone out here, if not many, that would sacrifice their life, just to see this powerful man dead. She said we dont have to worry about snipers and experinced killers. What we have to worry about is that hatful indivual standing in the fornt of the stage who feels as if he has nothing to lose, and yet so much to gain by doing this horrible act. We want Obama to be elected. It is not that complicated. Did you see the movie the Candidate (Redford)? Obama's campaign is exactly that. Change i.e. the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. More people will vote for Obama just because he is black than those who will not. He does not need to be specific about his proposed changes or his proposed policies. Change is always attractive because the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Do you now understand the strategy? I say great for him. A mixed race man looking black and being raised by a single mother is finally elected President. As it has been said before, finally proof that hard work, connections, and a vision can achieve the American Dream no matter what the race. For the last fifty years, we have allowed certain people to live off of the country for free. Now we know it was never racism, it was laziness. If he, Oprah, and others could do it, why could the other people not do it? My family has not even been here one hundred years yet. We came, legally registered, and went to work in the mines, the steel mills, and the packing plants. We were spit at, threatened, and ridiculed for looking different, and speaking a different language. The difference with us is that we continued to work at our jobs, at raising our children, and at learning the language. Soon, we were accepted in the community because we earned the respect. Yet we get lumped in as racists. It is amazing what people will say to avoid the truth. It was always about work ethic and character. Who will be to blame now?
