Tyler Perry Shows Out

Tyler Perry threw a big bash to celebrate the opening of Tyler Perry Studios and stars like Oprah and Will Smith came out to show their support. When stars of that caliber start coming to your events, it is most likely a sign that you have “made it,” and we ain’t even mad at you Tyler.

This is a really huge event for the uses!
I could care less about Tyler Perry. For someone who doesn’t pay the writers who are responsible for his success a reasonable wage, and then turn around and fire and not even invite them to the opening gala says alot about Perry’s ways.

Tyler has made it but what’s he doing to help others make it. He’s pays his black staff little of nothing. And while he was “celebrating,” four fired black writers who did nothing more than want to unionized stood outside picketing. Not hating, just saying do the right thing.

TP has money – yes, but it’s not his damn responsibility to make everybody els so. This man was HOMELESS and turned his life around BY HIS DAMN SELF – HE WAS WRITING FOR HIMSELF BEFORE HE PUT ANYBODY ELSE ON.

I am happy that Tyler Perry fired those who wanted to unionize. The unions are a very oppressive institution. He has every right to hire and fire whomever he pleases.
I am overjoyed becasue this is a step in the right direction…if he does it right. I am looking to this to be a new and bold direction for movies. He is bucking the old guard by doing all taht he is doing outside of Hollywood.

It has nothing to do with black or white, has much to do with respect for the people who have helped get to where he is. All the writers are asking for decent pay, not a handout.
ALot of people hate on Tyler Perry but I give him Kudos. He does his thing.

I’m really torn. On one hand I love that a brother is doing his thing legally..on the other hand we just don’t need anymore of his movies with crappy predictable story lines and over-acting. Hope he decides to think outside the box and do something different, until then, i refuse to see any of his movies or watch that dumb tv show of his.

CONGRATS Tyler! I agree with earlier post which says this doesn’t mean he is gonna take care of the whole black community of artist and writer/actors. He can’t. However if this is not a testiment to what God can do in your life and a testimanet to all black people adults and kids alike that you being black has noting to do with your ablity to be rich and successful I don’t know what is.

Congratulations to Tyler Perry! This is a great achievement. I see lots of negative comments on some of the posts though. What’s up with that? First off, no one knows exactly what happened with those writers and Mr. Perry except, those writers and Mr. Perry. Second, has Tyler Perry came out and officially said he’s gay? I haven’t heard that. So until he does, people need to get off that. And even if he does that, ok so what else is new? Just be happy for the man’s success with the studio. This report isn’t about his business decisions with writers or his sexuality so move on from it.
