R.I.P., but what the hell???

LIVINGSTON, N.J. — Investigators say an elderly woman died after she was run over by her own car at a northern New Jersey restaurant this weekend.

It appears that 79-year-old Sally A. Simmons failed to put the vehicle in park after she arrived at the Landmark restaurant in Livingston around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. It then rolled over her as she walked behind it on her way to the restaurant.

Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene. But further details on her injuries were not disclosed by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, which is investigating the matter.

Wow. How fast could her car have been moving for her to walk behind it but not see it rolling, or not be able to get out of the way?
