The man claiming to be Kimmy Cakes’ footballing side-boo is sticking to his story, despite her threats of a lawsuit.
Bret Lockett spoke to TMZ Live yesterday afternoon, and while he wasn’t exactly forthcoming with all the details of his alleged romance with Kim, he did confidently stick to his story.
Asked if he was concerned about Kim’s threat of legal action, Lockett responded, “It really doesn’t bother me because when all the allegations are correct and all the facts are in place, it’s nothing to bother me at all. I’m actually not shocked that she said that [I'm lying], but at the end of the day, I know what it is. And if she wants to go ahead and pursue with those actions, that’s not a problem with me.”
Lockett says he met Kim last October through his younger brother, who was dating Lauren London at the time. That would be two months before Kim and Kris Humphries got together. She supposedly asked Lauren to get Bret’s number from the brother.
“At first I thought he was playing. So, I took it with a grain of salt. Next thing you know, ten minutes later, I had a call from her.”
And this is when Lockett’s story started sounding a little fishy. He said that due to scheduling conflicts, he and Kim only saw each other about 3 times during their five month situation; but he wouldn’t go into detail about when or where they met in person. When pushed for more details, Bret started back peddling, claiming that the information was irrelevant.
“What me and Kim do is what me and Kim do, all of that other stuff is irrelevant,” he responded. “That’s all “he said, she said” stuff. But at the end of the day, Kim knows what happened, and I know what happened. Kim can deny this all she wants to, but if she wants to go the legal route, and start recalling text messages and conversations and pictures and all of that, then that’s not a problem.
“This isn’t the first celebrity that I’ve dated,” he added while trying to make himself sound like a stand-up guy. “I don’t have my life out in the tabloids, and I don’t wanna have my life out in the tabloids.”
That sounds odd, considering the tabloid “exclusive” that set this whole thing in motion.
But Lockett claims that he was contacted by the folks at In Touch Weekly, who told him that they had gotten a tip about his involvement with Kim. Lockett said he denied it at first, but was told that the story would go to print with or without his confirmation of the “facts.” His final decision to open up about the situation was motivated by the fact that he wanted to save face when he heard that Kim denied even knowing him, Lockett told TMZ.
“I respect Kim as a woman and I respect Kim as a business woman. At the end of the day, Kim reached out to me. I did not reach out to her. So for her to go this route… it would have been different if she had said, ‘Yeah, I knew him, but it didn’t go this way.’ If she had gone that route, it would have been a whole different story.”
SMH. Whether his story is true or not, if his motivation was the fact that Kimmy wouldn’t claim him now that she’s moved on to someone else, that was a beetchmade move.

Kim is also sticking to her denial though. She and her lawyers have already hit Lockett with another letter asking him to shut his face.
Kardashian has fired off a new demand letter to Lockett, obtained by TMZ, which warns him if he doesn’t retract his allegations and cease from making fresh ones, his new position will be defendant on the left side of the courtroom.
In the letter, Kim’s lawyer, Michael Kump, says, “To put it very plainly and clearly, and as Mr. Lockett knows, there is not now, and never has been such a relationship,” adding, “Ms. Kardashian does not know and has never even met Mr. Lockett.”
