5-Year-Old Boy Gunned Down While Eating Chicken Nuggets

Damn! A child can’t even enjoy a McNugget meal on his stoop without getting shot?

A 5-year-old boy was shot in the leg and two adults were wounded when a gunman opened fire on a Bronx street yesterday, cops and witnesses said.

The toddler was munching on Chicken McNuggets with a group of children on Grand Ave. in University Heights about 8:15 p.m. when a gunman started squeezing off shots.

“Everybody was out here chilling,” said Adam Frias, 23. “All of a sudden, I heard the sound of gunshots. I just dived on the floor.”

Four or five rounds went off as people started ducking for cover, witnesses said.

One of the bullets ripped through the lower leg of the young boy, cops and witnesses said.

“I saw the little kid fall,” said Mathew Jimenez, 17. “I was a little scared. People started running up the block.”

A 31-year-old woman was hit in her arm, and a 30-year-old man was shot in the calf, cops said.

“One guy was bleeding and ran to the corner store [on W. Fordham Ave.],” said Joon Cecebe, 21. “The little kid was unconscious. One of his legs was bloody.”

All the victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital. They are expected to survive.

Another day, another senseless, violent crime. Enough with the guns … for real. Why not ban the sale of ammo and all firearm paraphernalia without valid registration? Something’s gotta give because too many innocents are victims.
