Actors work for years and star in several movies before ever winning, not to mention they are way more talented than she is. She is very self absorbed to think she could’ve gotten an oscar for dreamgirls. I remember a quote saying her false eyelashes made a better impact on the movie than she did.

@The_Truth…I have to check you right there, because Janet’s “Poetic Justice” DID in fact get this level of attention. We just didn’t have the internet back in the early ’90s for people to see people’s reaction in plain view. And why is it that black people are the only ones that are considered “haters.” Go to Perez Hilton . com and you’ll see that white folks are “haters” as well. Beyonce’ is a beautiful woman and she can sing her ***** off. With that being said, if I were Etta James, I would be mad that a seasoned “actress” isn’t playing my part. Beyonce’ can barely talk and her attempts to act have all sucked.

Beyonce is playing Eartha Kitt in the biopic movie. It was announced last week I believe. She can’t act and the role should have went to someone who has the talent but you know how it goes.
We don’t need other races to hate on us! We can always rely on our own to do a damn good job of it. All these blak blogs beat down on brothers and sisters who are finally doing their thing, I am sure the KKK and all white supremacists are having a jolly old time!!
Her acting does suck. But I believe she will pull it off. She is not the main focus of the film. The film is about Adrien Brody, the owner of Cadillac Records and it’s recording artists. So her part will work out because it is not a major part like in Dreamgirls.

I thinks she’s still trying to “out do” Jennifer Hudson (since she got an award and Bey didn’t). Bey needs to focus on getting “some soul” before getting in front of the camera again otherwise, the audience will continue to “see nothing” when it comes to her acting. This is different from that 4th grade stage acting we all did.

If the Tina Turner movie had been brought out today I bet you Beyonce would’ve fought hard for that role and would’ve done some big payoffs. Luckily it was made before her time and the wonderful actress Angela B*****ett still to this day is recognized for how well she played that role. And to think, she looked nothing like Tina Turner but in that movie you didn’t think about that cause she was so good.

Beyonce got the role in this and the Obsessed movie because her and her father produced the movies. When you front the cash you have the right to put yourself in the flix. Does that mean she should have played the role? Only time will tell. If we’re just looking at her past performances I would have to say no. I don’t have a problem with her singing I have a problem with her acting. She should put just as much effort in acting as she does singing and maybe she will get better. There are a lot of actors who study their craft and I can truly understand why they would be mad at people like Bey who come along and take leading roles. She doesn’t even start at the bottom and work her way up she starts with leading roles and that’s what annoys me. Busta, LL, Queen none of these people took leading roles when they first started off and worked their way up.
She hired the same acting coach as Halle Berry and Charlize Theron who both have Oscars.
She went to a Drug addicted facilty in Brooklyn.
She gained 20 lbs.
So it’s not her not dedicated to the role she just need to let go and become someone else and don’t think about how it “looks”.
I think keyshia cole would have been a better pick or some other actress that can somewhat resemble Etta James. i hope Beyonce does a good job. I really like Etta James as well as her songs.If the reviews are horrible, I will watch the movie when it comes on TV.

You must not have gotten what MLK and Malcom were teaching in their later years and it was the content of ones character, not their skin color to support.
That is why we are going nowhere, we got all these devils in black skin, teaching our communities all the wrongt things, and because we DON”T GET IT, in terms of what Malcolm, MLK, Angela Davis was saying we feel obliged to support it.
We should support good character and condemn bad character irrespective of skin color.
If someone is a lying parasite then their skin color shouldn’t automatically mean they should be supported.

It is really a sad day when it is very clear and bright that Beyonce cannot act a r***** yet she keeps on getting roles. Now clearly they dont get it at that Beyonce is overrated and not that many people are into her. Oh well when movies start to flop is when they will stop allowing her to act in these movies. She really ruined this movie for me and she did the song a diservice. When will people see the wackness that is Beyonce. Is todays society all about fakeness. Are we that superficial. I am so happy that I am an adult in this day. I would hate to be 12 and think that Beyonce is really someone great. Ha – SHe knows that she isnt all of anything. She is average with a great team.

I agree that movies about singers lives should be played by actors and not singers who can’t act. There are to many black actors out there who could really play these roles well. Hey Hollyweird why don’t you give them a break.
You know I think it’s easier for a singer, or a rapper to get acting roles than actors. Please don’t let an actor try breaking into the singing business. It’s usually a flop.
