Every hipster’s favorite new rapper, Lil B, is dropping his debut album amidst a big ol’ mess of controversy. Just because he feels like it, he’s naming the album I’m Gay.

No, Lil B is not a homosexual nor does he play one on TV. However, he does love attention and breaking the status quo, so an album like this isn’t far-fetched. With the album cover, it appears that B is trying to say that he’s breaking from the mold of mental slavery. It all seems like Lil B is trying to say he watched a lot of Good Times back in the day.

The album has gotten the attention of the good folks over at GLAAD: “As a lyricist, Lil B knows that words matter,” a spokesperson for the organization said. “Slurs have the power to fuel intolerance. We hope that Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere attempt to be an ally. He has the platform and the voice. We hope he uses it in a positive way.”

Welp, looks like Lil B actually has to say something of substance or those GLAAD folks are going to come after him.

What about you? You think this is a sincere attempt at opening minds or a rapper just looking for attention? Will you be copping “I’m Gay” to see what the hype is about?
