Can anyone explain why you don’t need a license or some kind of certification before having a child?

Because this broad here wouldn’t have had a chance.

An Indianapolis mother cried through court Thursday as she answered to charges she left her children in a hot car and attacked a woman who tried to step in to help.

Heather Query, 21, was arrested Tuesday after police said she left her two sons, ages 4 and 1, unattended inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up in the parking lot of the Kroger store at 1330 W. Southport Road.

Police said it was 88 degrees outside with a heat index of 97 degrees at the time.

Passer-by Heather Elliott told police that when she approached Query as she exited the store, the woman began yelling at her, telling her it was none of her business, and then punched her in the face.

During an initial court hearing Thursday, a plea of not guilty was entered on Query’s behalf on two counts of neglect of a dependent and one count of battery.

The judge reduced Query’s bond from $11,000 to $5,000, but ordered her to be placed on GPS monitoring to ensure she has no contact with Elliott and her three children, ages 8 to 12, who police said witnessed the attack.

“They’ve asked questions. They’ve been upset. They’ve been concerned,” Elliott said at Thursday’s hearing.

She said she wanted to appear in court to make sure justice was served for Query’s children.

“It’s not right. It’s not fair to her kids, and I just want to make sure she gets what she deserves,” Elliott said. “I just want to get the point through to her and other parents that it’s not an acceptable situation.”

And while the complete stranger can see how wrong this chick was, the kids’ grandmother and the mom’s stepfather are holding ol’ girl down, saying she’s young and she made a mistake. GTFOH!
