JHud’s Sister Holds a Press Conference

At a press conference, Julia Hudson, pictured behind the podium, pleads for the safe return of her son, Julian King, who has been missing since this weekend’s tragic events occurred. Pictured beside Julia is the boy’s biological father, Greg King.
Chicago authorities are intensifying efforts to find the 7-year-old nephew of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson while investigating the shooting deaths of Hudson’s brother and mother. An Amber Alert is still in effect for Julian King, who went missing from his South Side neighborhood home on Friday. That was the same day that the bodies of his grandmother — 57-year-old Darnell Donerson — and 29-year-old uncle Jason Hudson were found in the home they shared. Their deaths have been ruled homicides. Chicago police spokesman Dan O’Brien says the search for King is citywide. But on Sunday residents and officers are focusing their search efforts “in the immediate vicinity” of Hudson’s home. Searchers plan to comb streets on foot and hand out fliers.

Michele Davis-Balfour, mother of the suspect, released this statement today via the Associated press:
Earlier Saturday, Julia Balfour’s mother-in-law said that police had questioned her son, William Balfour, in the slayings. Michele Davis-Balfour insisted that her son had nothing to do with the shootings and urged the public to focus on finding the missing boy. “Out of no means did my son do this. This heinous crime to this family is unbelievable. It’s unbearable,” Davis-Balfour told WLS in Chicago. “Whoever has Jennifer Hudson’s nephew or Julia Balfour’s son, please, I’m begging you, me and my family are begging you to return that son.” Police issued an Amber Alert for Julian and asked residents to look out for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859. Julian is described as being 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a striped brown polo shirt and khaki pants when last seen, authorities said in the Amber Alert.

He also threatened to kill her family and she didn’t even call his parole officer to report it.Even though he had served nine years in prison for attempted murder. San Francisco has been Sodom and Gomorrah for many many years and has no bearing upon the tragedy involving the Hudson family. This is not a time to go into religious diatribes. Use this time to console the family, try to piece together the events and help bring the baby home. Together if we put all of the pieces together the truth is somewhere in there. People have to watch out for that “I want a bad boy crap”. When you bring an underachiever in the midst of a prospering family there is a real potential for all kinds of hell to break loose. These fools, perhaps for the first time in their lives, begin sizing themselves up against what is going on in their newly introduced environment. They may not like what they discover. They may discover just how nothing they really are and that may produce a latent time bomb just waiting to blow. In a prosperous setting they can only see how they have made no significant contributions whatsoever. It is a real downer with horrible consequences.
How many times have we seen this kind of vicious act played out? How many times have we witnessed the low-life family member or acquaintance who lashes out and violently slash all innocence simply because they hate love and progress? This message particularly goes out to Philly where our people have not done nearly enough to turn in all those murderers freely walking about the community. Those bastards prey on people who look like them because they are reminded of the lack of respect they have for themselves. We allow them to live to kill again and again. What is wrong with us?
I have always supported Obama and I will serve the President well once he takes office. At he same time, I find it quite disturbing that after hundreds of millions of dollars, endless travel around the nation and the world, endless blogs/reports/comments/counter-comments, and after a sensational amount of time spent, we are only engaged, it seems, in an activity to improve our image, our abilities to think of greater self potential, and perhaps more peace in the general global population.
Not that those things are not critical for human existence, but I dare say that I see much of this progress as superficial. I do not see direct and immediate links between the massive energy to elect one man to the Oval Office to what is being played out in the daily lives of ordinary citizens like those in Philly. Those of you who live amongst known murders who have zero interest or capacity for self-realization know exactly what I am talking about.
So the question is, when are we truly going to exert the same amount of energy and passion to save ourselves?
