Tired of watching black women throw bows on TV? Tia and Tamera Mowry say they have the alternative. The sisters, who have evolved into full grown women actresses in front of our eyes are set to premiere their new show “Tia & Tamera Take 2” on Monday on the Style network. While they admit the show will be low on the kind of drama we’re used to seeing they claim filming the project during such stressful times in their lives (Tia was pregnant, Tamera was engaged and planning a wedding) was still a challenge.
Check out some excerpts from a recent interview they did with Sister2Sister magazine below:
“Everybody thinks that, ‘Oh, wow. Everything seems so perfect and so grand,’ but if you think about it, it’s really important times in both of our lives that take a lot of attention,” said Tia.
“If I was exhausted or not feeling well and couldn’t attend something for Tamera, she wouldn’t take it well. You’ll see the ongoing compromise that we try to make for each other. We try to compromise and not hurt the other one’s feelings.”
“We’re both preparing for pivotal times in our lives. She needed me. I needed her, but our situation didn’t always allow us to be together,” Tia added.
Sounds pretty perfect to us, but if you say so Tia. It will be a relief to see some black women facing more “normal” kinds of challenges. Don’t most of us relate more to Tia and Tamera, than say… Evelyn and Tami, anyway?
