20 years is a long a*s time to wait!!! Congratulations are in order for fashion designer and “Project Runway” judge Michael Kors, who will be exchanging his vows very soon now that New York has legalized same sex marriage.
According to Life & Style reports:
Just weeks after New York legalized gay marriage, designer Michael Kors will finally say “I do” to his long-term partner, Lance LePere.
The two were spotted at City Hall in NYC on Aug. 3 getting their marriage license. “They were both very casually dressed,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “He was really nice and let the girls at the office take his picture.”
Michael and Lance have known each other since 1990, when Lance joined the fashion designer’s company as an intern in Paris. While working together, their bond developed into something more than business. In fact, it was being abroad that solidified their relationship. “We share a certain level of taste,” LePere has said, “an American point of view, and I think we like to play with Americana. Over the years and the day-to-day process of dreaming together, things just naturally fell into place.”
They’ve already been together longer than most people stay married! We gotta respect that.
20 years is a long time to wait to make it “official” but after seeing photos of some of the gay old heads in NY who tied the knot as soon as the law changed, we know there are folks who waited way longer.
