Over the weekend, ‘Melo took his philanthropy to “his Island” to do something nice for the kids.

A couple of years back, Melo’s “Carmelo Anthony Foundation” partnered with his Syracuse University coach Jim Boeheim to create the “Courts 4 Kids” initiative, which, with the help of sponsors like Time Warner, Jordan Brand and Chrysler, revitalizes basketball courts in underprivileged neighborhoods.

This weekend, while Melo hosted a three day charity event in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, he officially “opened” the initiative’s newest outdoor court.
