Carmelo Anthony In Puerto Rico

Over the weekend, ‘Melo took his philanthropy to “his Island” to do something nice for the kids.

A couple of years back, Melo’s “Carmelo Anthony Foundation” partnered with his Syracuse University coach Jim Boeheim to create the “Courts 4 Kids” initiative, which, with the help of sponsors like Time Warner, Jordan Brand and Chrysler, revitalizes basketball courts in underprivileged neighborhoods.

This weekend, while Melo hosted a three day charity event in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, he officially “opened” the initiative’s newest outdoor court.

That’s what we’re talking about Melo! Don’t just shout out your roots and tat up/wear flags: do something meaningful for your people!
