WASHINGTON (AP) – Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday. In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name. Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community. The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press. “They said that would be their last, final act _ that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama,” Cavanaugh said. “They didn’t believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying.”
SMH. It really is time for a change.

I believe this is at least the fourth plot to **********inate Obama that I’ve read/heard since the primary. The last plot that was uncovered (and Skinheads were involved, if I recall correctly) was during the Democratic convention in Denver.
What troubles me most about this latest incident — outside of the obvious threat to Obama’s safety — is that other, random African Americans are clearly targeted. While Obama has Secret Service protection, most black men, women, and children do not.
This election has rattled a lot of nerves, and a lot of people haven’t come to grips with the reality of a black man potentially holding the highest office in the land. I’ll pray for Obama’s continued safety and the security of all of us.

It certainly appears that we have regressed greatly. This is an important time in the history of our country and in our lives. I pray that everyone stands up and does their part.

I’m getting scared for Obama.
First off, this does suck indeed, but I’m sure McCain/Palin, Bush/Cheney get threats/attempts on their lives DAILY, just like Obama. If we heard about all the threats/attempts on our current president, it would seem like the gov’t and police don’t have a handle on our safety and what not, thus causing chaos and an unstable gov’t. First of all, the authorities foiled a plot to kill him in Colorado. Someone tipped them off to men who had obtained rifles, they were subsequetly arrested. It was on CNN for just a few days before the final night of the Dems’ convention.
I just want to put a warning out to all people of African descent, even those who are of mixed race. Please be very careful on election night and the following days and weeks after if Obama wins. I personally hope he does and, I think he will.
We know how dangerous these people who live hatefilled lives are. Reason, common-sense, rationality and logic don’t exist in these sorts of people. They will troll about looking to kill anyone to release that pent-up hate in them. Try not to put yourself in a situation where you will become a victim.
Also, when you go to work the day after the election. Please don’t celebrate as if we’ve taken over America. Remember Barack Obama will be the President of the United States of America, not just black America. Celebrate at home with your own people or friends you know well. Don’t allow anyone to have an opportunity to fire you in retaliation if Obama is elected.
Above all, vote vote vote. This is another opportunity for our nation to grow. It has never grown without much kicking, screaming, shooting, lynching, bombing and every other wicked act a person can think of.

There’s been a quiet movement of white nationalists for Obama. There’s also an actual organization of Skinheads for Obama. They are vastly outnumbered by white nationalists and skinheads who don’t want anything to do with Obama (or McCain), but they do exist. The stormfront poster Kolonel above (I believe) is not a member of either. He’s just *****ed off that his movement can be damaged by the *****ty actions of the few. Not surprised! Focus on the positive…they figured out the plot before it was done (I’m sure there will be more), change doesn’t come easy, as long as the American people stay engaged and we hold individuals accountable for their actions we will be on the right track. That’s cool. And I apologize for misunderstanding you where I’ve misunderstood you. You’re right about the education needed; I think the education needs to be one of the heart more than anything. Too many degreed haters out there — many of them in positions of power right now.
I do know several educated people with notions about race, ethnicity and supremacy to make your teeth grind….. they’re the worst kind, because they really can’t be taught. Their ‘heads’ are made up, and their hearts can’t be turned. They’re the folks for whom that old saying about ’statistics’ and ‘lies’ was created.

I think something is seriously wrong with this world when you have young men willing to die for someone else’s cause and agenda. This is a prime example of how lack of jobs, education, and opportunities let people’s minds go astray and leave them vulnerable to all the wrong things. We need to do better in America (and all over the world) to uplift our communities and young people so they won’t resort to Terrorism, Drugs, Violence, etc. I guarantee you if these young men had better opportunities in their lives they would have been much less likely to get involved in this. Plus, they are from an area of the country that is really suffering due to job loss and increased crime. I’m thankful they were caught, and am praying this won’t inspire someone to finish where they left off, but rather change their mind if they were thinking of doing the same thing.
