Parents truly ain’t isht these days!!!!
A father threw his seven-year-old son off a Southern California sightseeing cruise boat during an argument on Sunday. Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino says 35-year-old Sloan Briles was arrested Sunday for investigation of child endangerment and resisting arrest.
Amormino says Briles, his girlfriend and two sons from his previous marriage went on an afternoon cruise around Newport Harbor on a boat carrying 85 people. Just before 2 p.m. Briles argued with the girlfriend. His two boys, aged six and seven, witness the verbal fight and the older boy was visibly upset, Amormino said.
‘The father hit him several times and then threatened to throw him overboard if he didn’t stop crying,’ Amormino said.
Briles then threw the seven-year-old overboard. ‘The crowd on the boat became very angry at the father for hitting the kid and extremely angry when he threw him overboard,’ Amormino said.
Other witnesses told KTLA that the boy was walking behind his father when the man picked him up and tossed him into the water. Amormino added that the child was not an expert swimmer.
The child was rescued by another boater after three flocked to help. Briles also jumped in to save him, but the boy had already been helped. Authorities believe Briles had been drinking and he was combative during his arrest.
He was released on Monday. He couldn’t be immediately reached at a number listed for him in Irvine.
