Weapon Found in Hudson Case and Balfour Says He’s Innocent

According to Livesteez, yesterday they found a heater about a block away from where they found little Julian, and in 2002, the house was raided cause of drug activity:
Police, yesterday, sent about 100 personnel to the area near 13th Street and Kolin Avenue to search for evidence. The handgun was found around 1:30 p.m. about a block from where the vehicle was parked along the street. All three victims were shot to death. King, was shot twice in the head with a .45-caliber weapon, the same caliber used in the murders of his uncle and grandmother, authorities said. Chicago police targeted Jason Hudson, Jennifer’s murdered brother, and Gregory King, the father of Jennifer’s murdered 7-year-old nephew Julian for drug dealing in 2002.Both men allegedly sold crack cocaine to a registered informant. Cops then raided the very home where Jason was murdered last week. According to documents, Jason, Gregory and Julia (Jennifer’s sister) were all arrested. Julia was never charged with a crime. Jason was charged with cocaine trafficking, but the main count was dismissed in 2004 because the judge ruled police conducted an illegal search. During that hearing, Jennifer’s mom had to choose whether to go to Hollywood to watch her daughter on “American Idol” or be in court…she chose the latter. Gregory was convicted. Jason agreed to enroll in a drug abuse program and the less serious remaining charge was dismissed.Cops say Jason and Gregory were affiliated with the gang, Gangster Disciples. That’s the same gang that William Balfour, the “person of interest” was in. The lawyer who repped Jason told TMZ cops often jumped to conclusions and assumed people in that neighborhood were gang members.
Also via TMZ, William Balfour says he is innocent.
According to the papers, when Balfour was pulled over on June 19, police allegedly found cocaine on the driver’s seat of the car and he was subsequently arrested. But a parole supervisor declined to issue a warrant to revoke his parole. The primary suspect in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s family insists he’s innocent –- but won’t take a lie-detector test. William Balfour told cops he had a “good relationship” with the Hudson family, reports the AP, but when they asked him to take a polygraph, refused and “stopped cooperating” with detectives. Balfour still hasn’t been charged, but cops are still honed in on him as the possible killer.

Sounds fishy. I’m sure there’s pressure on the police to solve this case. What idiot would discard the weapon in the bushes around the block? I guess the same piece of sh*t that kills a kid. The drug dealer angle doesn’t add up either. As tragic as it is, it’s probably a domestic case. Either way, my prayers go out to the family.

Maybe someone who knew where the gun was discarded put it there – i.e., moved it from where it was originally hidden and put it just a block away so it could be easily found…
I’m starting to wonder if he really did it now. If Julia and Jason were living foul, anything is possible. That drug game is dirty, ain’t no love in it. Those prints on the gun will tell EVERYTHING.
It all depends where the gun originated, if it has other murders on it, leaving it there may be the best way to avert the police from the real suspect. This whole thing sounds fishy. I felt from the beginning. A restraining order in one of these types of relationships is really not enough to set a man on a murder spree, especially since it did not involve Julia. Balfour was already shacked up with another woman. Unfortunately I’ve been a witness to too many “hood love” relationship and calling the police and restraining orders are like foreplay. But let a drug dealer be thought of as a snitch, you know getting a lighter sentence than the ones you got busted for, ***** will come and kill the whole family. Either way it is a sad situation

First of all…if you decline to take a polograph test then you are most likely guilty. If I KNOW i didnt do anything, then the answers will come easy as pie. But Balfour has something to hide. I can see it in his devilish eyes.
Either he did it himself, or he knows of who did it.
I heard another story that he told his parole officer that he was “babysitting” on the night that the family was murdered. I laughed at that. First of all, why would you miss a court date to babysit a child that is not yours to risk the chance of going to jail? And when he called his parole officer, I guess there was a baby (allegdly) in the background. Or course, simpletons.
To try and make his story more believable. I dont buy it. He’s a loser-thug, his father was a loser-thug, his brother was a loser-thug, and any of his offspring will be future loser-thugs. PLEASE WOMEN…DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN AN EGG TO PRODUCE ANY MORE OF HIS ROTTEN CHILDREN.
Anyway…..its sad. I hope he rots in hell; or to any of the people *****ociated with this crime, I hope their flesh burns and regenerates and burns and regenerates (well, you get the picture). I’d LOVE a chance to torture this *****.

- this is such a high profile case
- J-Hud is soo loved & is a decent individual
- an innocent child was murdered

The initial intention may not have been to kill the boy, probably thought they could get some ransom, but realized they could also be identified. No screams if you are unconscious, scared into shock, many possibilities. The Killer was either very smart (if it’s not Balfour) or very stupid (if it is Balfour).
This is drug related. I knew from the moment I heard the news. Blacks dont kill much over domestic diputes not entire families for that matter. This is about snitching as someone hinted earlier. And Im sorry but if my baby was missing in case like this I coildnt go on TV like Julia, i would be in the hospital in a stray jacket or very ill..too ill to be on tv and not showing much remorse for my brother or mother. I went on her My*****e page yesterday, she had 2,247 friends I wrote it down cause I was on to something, this morning around 10am she had 3643 friends, thats 1,396 more friends then yesterday, ok, so granted it takes about 30 seconds to look at a profile and add a friend, thats about half a got damn day 12 1/2 hours of sitting on my*****e, wtf .. who spends 12 1/2 hours on my*****e? is she some sort of attention seeking pyscho? Why is she blogging her personal business? Doesn’t she have a funeral to plan? I think she is psychotic, hungry for the attention, WHY IN THE ***** is that dude still on her damn my*****e list? Why ? OMG I think she has this craving for the spotlight and living in some kind of damn fantasy world. The police should have her in custody and make her ***** take a lie detector test, if the feds just looked at her My*****e page, I mean c’mon.. I agree with the post above, this had to be more than a donestic dispute because we (blacks) generally don’t kill people over a domestic dispute. There is something missing from this story and when the ENITRE case and all the details come to light I think we are ALL gonna be REALLY shocked about the truth. It just seems to me that there is something really big that everyone is missing…we’ll know more in about a week probably because it seems like the popo’s are finding out something new everyday. I just can’t imagine what that family is going thru right now, and I hope they don’t have one big funeral for all 3, which they probably, but then again, they probably should just do one big funeral for all three that way they can get all of that grief and hurt out in one day because that is going to be an extremely sad sad funeral….. Lie detector tests aren’t admissable as evidence in court- I wouldn’t take one either especially w/o my lawyer’s referral.

I still say poor Julia, all day, she lost her son, her mother and brother, I’m sure she wishes she was also taken. It would be a lot easier. Considering the high profile of the case, she may have wanted to make a public statement via My*****e to all the people praying for her and Jennifer. Possibly the only reason she was able to wake was by the grace of God and the prayers all us strangers sent out to her. I still say the blame lays on the Killer. According to the latest news, this may have been the retaliation from her brothers actions instead of her husband going on a jealous rage. This just makes the case that we don’t know what happen, now to make *****umptions and call for the arrest of a mother of a murdered child when the police don’t even know what happen is ridiculous. Those who are all bent out of shape about Drugs in the Black Community put some pressure on your elected official to keep that ***** out of the country instead of sending troops to defend countries who don’t have ***** to do with us.

The point is if there was drug dealing in that house,she did kill her baby-a mother is supposed to ensure that her child grows up in a safe home away from nonsense like this.A child is supposed to be able to be comfortable in their own home without worrying about who can come and harm them.He was 7-the only thing he should have been worrying about is what cartoon was on TV.Anyone who has children that bring dramas to the home where that child has to lay his/her head is guilty of child endangerment and are responsible for whatever the outcome.

Judging from the pics and comments on her My*****e page, she seemed extremely devoted to William and a bit envious of her sister’s fame, looks and lifestyle.

I’ve seen some press conferences by parents of missing children – AND THEY SHOWED THEIR EMOTIONS – TEAS AND ALL THEY STILL THE THE PRESS CONFERENCES.
OH, but not Miss Julia. Miss Julia stepped right up to that podium with her eyes all bugged out of her head, she had her *****ed up sniffling thing going on – couldn’t *****ODY tell Miss Julia nothing.

how could they not have a mountain of evidence against this guy? this guy is not a professional or very smart. this was an act of rage (when all the mistakes are made). between prints on house, car and gun, blood splatter on clothes, gun residue on clothes this guy (if guilty) should be done. it makes you wonder. maybe they are just making sure they don’t do anything illegal that could let him go free.

CHICAGO – During the same weekend that county pathologists conducted autopsies on the bodies of actress-singer Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother, they also examined the bodies of six other people who’d been gunned down or beaten to death.
Five of them died in Chicago, as did the Oscar winner’s mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson, and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, whose body was found Monday. Like Hudson’s relatives, three died on the city’s South Side.
The deaths are yet another reminder of the bloodshed on Chicago’s streets this year — when the city has seen more homicides than both New York and Los Angeles. And they go a long way toward explaining why residents of Hudson’s childhood neighborhood say it’s not surprising that people may have heard gunfire coming from her family home but didn’t bother to call police.
“You hear gunshots day and night, that’s nothing new,” said Ken Rasheeda, 38, who grew up in the neighborhood, Englewood, where he and his wife are now raising three children. “There’s been times I heard gunshots and I didn’t think twice about it, it’s so common.”
Englewood may not have the notoriety of old Chicago public housing complexes such as the Robert Taylor Homes or Cabrini Green, but the neighborhood — part of the police department’s 7th District — is one of the most violent in the city, ranking at or near the top this year in numbers of homicides, sexual *****aults and robberies. In fact, between January and August, 2,083 violent crimes occurred in the district — more than in any of the city’s 24 other districts.
The predominantly black neighborhood is less than 10 miles from downtown, yet it is also a world away. While gang violence made headlines when it erupted this summer in Grant Park, the city’s lakefront showroom, such episodes are part of Englewood’s landscape. And gunfire is part of the soundtrack.
People congregated this week outside the house where the bodies of Hudson’s mother and brother were found. As the number of stuffed animals, balloons and flowers left against the front fence reached the hundreds, area residents said what happened inside, though tragic, is all too common.
“Because Jennifer Hudson lived here once upon a time you got all these people, all these teddy bears,” Christine Baines said, holding her toddler daughter. “We lost five people in one house in April,” she noted, referring to a fatal home invasion that already has faded into the distant memory of many Chicagoans.
Some residents claim the neighborhood does not get police attention equal to that of other, more affluent areas.
“On the North Side, you call police and they’re out there in 5, 10 minutes,” said Howard Denham, 33, who grew up across the street from the Hudson house and now lives on the city’s North Side. “Somebody fires a firecracker and police are out with guns drawn.”
Others, though, say residents bear responsibility if they know of or suspect violent crime.
“Maybe a phone call could have saved someone’s life,” Baines said of the shootings Friday at the Hudson family home.
Police say they do their best to protect all of Chicago’s neighborhoods and note that on Friday, officers were at the scene five minutes after they were called.
William Balfour, 27, the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia Hudson, was taken into custody Friday for questioning in the killings. He has been named a suspect and is being held on a parole violation. *****ody has been charged in the deaths.
Police Superintendent Jody Weis said he understands people are sometimes reluctant to get involved, even when they hear gunfire. “That’s the constant challenge we face all the time,” he said.
While police have characterized the Hudson family killings as “domestic related,” not random violence, neighborhood residents said they still hope the attention generated by the deaths leads people to call police, look out for one another and report suspicious behavior.
But they don’t hold out much hope.
“For a few months or so people will straighten up, but then, believe me, after a couple of months it’s back to the same routine,” said Rasheeda, who, looking down at his 1-year-old son asleep in his stroller, vowed to move his family out of the only neighborhood he’s ever called home.
Kevin Bennett, who grew up across the street from the Hudsons and counted them as friends, agreed. He thinks that not long after the television news crews leave, the neighborhood will return to the same violent place it’s been for years.
Which is why he keeps coming back to the last time he saw Jason Hudson two or three weeks ago.
Bennett said he had asked his friend, “Why are you still here, man?”

No, Hollywood is STILL going to embrace Jennifer. Her’s isn’t the first or the last family to have had problems like this. PLENTY MURDERS HAVE BEEN COMMITTED BY STARS & THEIR FAMILIES WAAAAYYYY BEFORE JENNIFER HUDSON, and they’re Still working in Hollywood.

Or the family of five that was done up execution style on Rhodes that no one remembers.

I too grew up in Chicago on the west side, K-town, but I had family out south and in the Englewood area, yes I know Ms. D and Jason, Julia and Jennifer, I know Jen and her mother the best. My family has also been the victim of ‘violence’ and by someone we thought was okay, in 1997 my cousin and her boyfriend broke up after a huge fight and my aunt put him out. I don’t know what it was, but he was always a little controlling, in the wanting to play mind games crap (didn’t want her opening the mail without him, used a fake name at video stores like he really thought he was a secret agent, when he left the house he took the house phone with him) that kind of stuff, still in all we thought nothing of him, I didn’t care for him the only person he fooled was my cousin and as far as I knew he wouldn’t squash a grape in a fruit fight hell he wouldn’t fight me when I called him out, he stayed on his brothers porch and called the police on me for busting out the windows in his car after he tried to choke my cousin not knowing i was with her, when I jumped on him, he ran up the stairs telling me ‘he was sending me to jail for busting his nose’ and I’m a girl. Anyway her mother told her he couldn’t come back even if they did make up, he went on a rant about her trying to keep them apart, came to the house and got in through a window he’d rigged shot my cousin, her mother and my little cousin his own son, took some jewelry and the VCR. My aunt died, my cousin and her son was in the hospital for weeks and had to miss her funeral. When it first happened, none of us thought twice about it, The fool got caught because he panicked at the last minute and put the gun in a paper bag dropping it in a dumpster at an ALDI four blocks from the house, then tried to burn his shoes in his own oven how dumb is that! When asked why he did it, he just cried and said the day before they got into a heated argument on the phone and he felt like her mother was trying to hook her up with somebody else, his guys was telling him not to let her control they relationship and he just snapped, how dumb is that! Now my family is really close, so our aunts and uncles are like surrogate mothers and fathers, cousins were raised like brothers and sisters, I was like ten before I realized I didn’t have twenty somethin brothers and sisters, anyway when it first happened I was completely numb, I felt like I should cry or be upset but I couldn’t, denial and shock make your body react in crazy ways, no two people react the same, my mother was the same as me, just numb, although we identified her it was still unbelievable….until the wake THAT’s when it became real, that’s when we lost it. The same when my daughters father died in a car accident, my daughter was eight at the time, and although her father and I weren’t in a relationship at the time, we were very good friends, our families were good friends to each other, his mother calls my other two children by my husband her grandkids regardless and I have a great relationship with my daughters brother and sister still, when my daughters Dad died, that was a huge shocker because he was so young, we’d just seen and talked to him not even an hour before the accident, once again I was numb, to this day I can barely remember that week and people were constantly looking at me like you really don’t seem upset, people actually said it to me, it was like once again I couldn’t even fathom it…until the wake, seeing that casket with him in it and I prayed like most dead folks he wouldn’t look like himself but he did and I lost it, threw up and everything, people grieve in different ways, just because you’d react one way doesn’t mean others will. Another story recently here in Texas where I now live, this guy went to his ‘ex-wife’ house, shot her and their kids, made her kiss her sons and tell them she loved them, then told them to say goodbye to their mother, and shot her while she was trying to protect them, the bullets went through her and into them, he shot the woman ten times, one of the boys later died, the other is still in the hospital, they caught this *****in idiot because he took the gun he used to his boys mothers house and the mother found it and took it to the police after making her son tell her where it came from and why it was in her house, and he does an interview with FOX NEWS and says, the kids were just in the way he didn’t mean to shoot them, he shot his ex wife ***** ***** cuz somebody told him that hoe was snitchin on him, so he had to show her how he do snitches. When they asked him why he just left the boys there to bleed to death he shrugged and was like ‘as many times as I shot her, I knew they got hit I thought they was gonna die anyway, what was the point, they should have stayed in the room like I told them, my oldest don’t like me no way’, what kind of ***** is that, so yeah, people do stupid ***** all the time even when it seems to coincidental. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying who was involved and who wasn’t, but I do know this, ALL of them have always been very independant, Jen making it didn’t stop them from working and doing what they do, if Jason was selling drugs it wasn’t out of Mrs. D house, she really was a beautiful sweet woman inside and out, I’m sure she knew what Jason was doing, but it was never in her presence nor in her house and believe it or not they are all good people, you could tell they were ‘raised’ right despite their environment, and they were all very supportive of Jen and did NOT look to her as a cash cow or tried to live off of her Julian was very well loved and taken care of by all of them especially his mother, and even in that neighborhood he was really sheltered even before Jen really made it. Trust and believe, she’s STILL being questioned to death, and also stuck in seclusion with her sister, the reason for the my*****e visit was mainly for the messages in which they were all monitoring including the police, I’m not talking about the comments, but the private messages, and after she was ’shown’ certain blogs about her, she was encouraged to put something in her about me section and that was it, other than that others checked it for the messages which hopefully and actually did contain information and people wasn’t trying to talk to the police directly feel me? I can’t say what Julia or Jason was doing in their personal lives, because I’m not around like that or why she’d date or marry someone like that but she’s not the only one and we all know it, I know females who date guys I wouldn’t even want to make eye contact with let alone have around my kids. Some people love folks flaws and all. I don’t know if Will did this or not or if he had something to do with it, but things aren’t looking good for him because the girlfriend is cracking under the pressure, her story doesn’t match his alibi and she’s now saying she believes he had something to do with it because of the way he was ‘acting’ then again she could just be scared or *****ed finding out about the other possible baby mama that also happens to be a friend, who knows (all this will come out later watch) all I know is the truth will come to the light sooner or later, for right now three people lives were taken, including an innocent kid, I’m going to keep them in my prayers and leave the judging up to the investigation and God. Whoever did this, vengeance is mine said the lord, he didn’t say how that vengeance would come.
CORRECTION: I said when it first happened none of us thought twice about it, I meant we didn’t think twice that he had anything to do with the shooting, he was stupid but to us he was no where near a killer or even had that tendency.
Police just reported that the gun “found” in the alley which matched the murder weapon’s shell casings belonged to Jennifer’s brother, Jason, who believed it had been stolen months before. If the suspect was kicked out of the house a year earlier, how did he get back in to steal it. Who shot the brother in Gary, IN and why did he refuse medical help when he was shot? But that is the problem with the drug game — no ethics, no codes, nothing is as it seems.
I don’t think Balfour killed them, although he might have an idea of who did it.He is a scapegoat because of his past criminal record I think this was drug-related. The killer shot Jason and Darnell…these ruthless killers don’t care about casualties. Darnell was an unfortunate casualty, but she just happened to be there. The killer didn’t want to kill Julian; that’s why he took Julian with him. But later he realized that Julian was the only witness, so he would have to be silenced.
I don’t think this was a domestic case. Balfour and Julia had both moved on and were with other people. There was no reason of him to be jealous of Julia. Balfour had knocked up another woman and seemed to have several other women (according to his mother, who referred to the baby-mama-to-be as “ONE of his girlfriends.” She said Julia and her son had a good relationship. There is, however, that matter of Balfour supposedly selling her car, which is suspect.
I don’t believe the story about Balfour and the lie detector test. This was a leak from an anonymous source at the police department. Remember, the police department is under enormous pressure to solve this case as soon as possible because the whole world is watching. I’ve been a journalist in big cities for almost 20 years. Belive me, cops (many, but of course not all) are evil and they lie and make up stuff all the time. They think nothing of planting what to they want to get out in the media. As another poster pointed out, black men get railroaded in this country all the time. Since lie detector tests aren’t admissible in court, I doubt police even asked himn to take the test. This is just an effort by the police to make him seem like the culprit, and they look competent because they have the killer off the streets.
And in the unlikely event that they did ask him to to take the test and he refused, good for him. I wouldn’t take a lie detector test either unless my lawyer told me to do so. And BALFOUR DOESN’T HAVE A LAWYER! THAT’S WHY THE COPS HAVEN’T CHARGED HIM WITH ANYTHING YET! The minute they do, he is entitled to a lawyer! But as long as he in custory as “a person of interest” the cops don’t have to do ***** for him. They reportedly have not allowed him to even make a phone call to his mom, much less hire a lawyer.
