George - George Foreman. He deserves a TV show now? Good thing he had his day job of cranking out that grill that cooks delicious low-fat grilled chicken. But asking him to act? He should have just punched himself in the face.

One on one wasn’t that bad it was a pretty good show it just got dumb when she left for college then it became unnecessary but cedric’s show was sometimes funny…

I’m surprised you didn’t have the parkers up there. While the show was funny, it was funny for all the wrong reasons.

I agree with everyone…One on One was not a bad show. There are plenty of other mainstream shows that were worse.

House of Payne & One on One should not be on this list. Several seasons later…is not an indicator of a “worst black tv show of all time”. Maybe not to your liking but definitely not the worst. Didn’t see (or hear of) most of the others.

C’mon, y’all know y’all laugh everytime Uncle Curtis says: teardatazzup.

I loved watching House of Payne and One on One. Sinbad was a good host on The Vibe.

Also, too many of y’all hate on TP because he visits real issues. Sorry your dad was a dope fiend. Or your mom left your family when you were a kid. That’s real and relatable. I Loved the Browns movie b/c I could relate. I cried, laughed, got mad- you name it (except being offended).

Just appreciating his talent & not taking everything so personally. IJS.

    I loved one on one!!!

some of the shows needed better script, but they did provide work for black actors, and that’s always good.

i loved one on one!! What about LIKE FAMILY, BETWEEN BROTHERS, THE UNIT, EVE??

  • ……….

The problem with House of Payne is that it’s being written and shot as if it’s a play, and most of the actors seemingly haven’t had training to act for television – just stage shows. So what happens is the writers right one liners to get the audience to react, but an audience at home isn’t the same as the audience you have with a room full of people. Then the actors are playing to the camera (like they would to an audience) and not to each other. They over exaggerate their movements, and articulate and sometimes almost yell the lines so that they can be heard, but it’s to the point that it doesn’t seem natural. When you’re on stage you have to make everything big because you have people sitting waaaay in the back. Nobody is sitting waaay in the back when watching a tv show…the camera puts you right in their space as if you’re there so there’s no need for everything to be so BIG

The Parkers Should Be On This List.. House Of Payne Shouldn’t Be On This List.. But Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns & Are We There Yet Should Be On This List !!
