People, we really need to stop all this unnecessary and senseless violence:
Eight people were injured after gang members fired into a crowd during a fight at a “rap off” contest inside a Far Northeast Dallas nightclub. The confrontation occurred about 2:30 a.m. at the Rolls Royce club in the 9200 block of Skillman Street near the intersection of Audelia Road northeast of LBJ Freeway.
Police said that during the rap contest, two gangs got into a confrontation. Two members of one of the gangs pulled out guns and “began shooting.” The suspects fled in a silver Hyundai Sonata, reports say. The victims ranged from critical to fair condition at Baylor Medical Center in Garland and Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, authorities said.
A 22-year-old man from Addison told police that he was about to take the stage when a man began arguing with him. That man pulled out a gun and shot him twice in the leg and once in the buttocks, reports say.
Bullets began flying into the crowd. A 23-year-old victim shot in both legs told police that he “dove” when he heard gunfire.
