That’s nice, but the people at the rallies are already hyped up to vote for Obama. I’m hoping the celebs will fan out on election day and hit up polling places encouraging people not to leave the long lines. Definately don’t waste all the celebs in one place.

Are rappers still relevant? I mean a lot of kids I know see right through their minstrelty. Telling people to vote and then they advocate tomfoolery, ignorance and misogyny the other 364 days of the year.

    Can Beyonce say Barack Obama?

Mary is the only one who has consistenly supported positivity and uplight ones spirit.

R+B star BEYONCE KNOWLES has postponed her baby plans after learning just how tough motherhood can be from her sister SOLANGE.

The 27-year-old singer once claimed that winning an Oscar, getting married and becoming a mum were three things she’d like to cross of her wish list by the time she was 30 – but now she’s not so keen on having a kid in the next three years.

Knowles, who wed rapper Jay-Z in April (08), says, “I’d still love to win an Oscar (but) the kids, I dunno.

“I’ve been keeping my nephew and he’s the smartest little boy, but he’s making it hard. It’s a lot of work.”

But she hasn’t ruled out having kids before she turns 30: “In three years, maybe.”

I can’t believe it missed this rally. I started to go but the flyer only said J and Puffy were going to be there. Had I had any idea Mary and Beyonce were both showing up, I would have burned up I-95 to get there…

  • Sawyer

This man has single handedly brought back black pride and worth in this country that my generation hasnt ever seen and its so uplifting! I see what my parents felt with the likes of Dr King. Obama is Star Power and can move masses of people, characteristics like this is what we need in the White House!

But we need to make sure he stays on the right track and not let them “good ole boys” deter his mission of putting this country back in the good standings. And we, the public, have to support and work with this man as he tries to achieve the greatest advancement since slavery and use getting the right to vote! Dont waste it!!!

  • WeStKoaSt

I’ll be voting tomorrow. Can’t wait. Wish I could go early in the morning but can’t. Ugh. Long lines will be around by the time I get to do it.

  • JUSTME!

YES WE CAN!!!!! I hope that everyone votes and not get discouraged by long lines. We wait in lines for clubs and rides at amusement parks. We need to have the same determination to VOTE. Voting is a right not a priviledge…..BARACK THE VOTE!!!!!!!

  • Sistah_PhD2be

Russell is rocking a Ganesha shirt (The Hindu God of Success). He has truly evolved and come into his own with the Hindu and Budhhist pratice. I hope he continues to find his way on the path to enlightenment. Namaste to you Russ and all that you do!

  • LADY ARCHITECT (DOING BIG THINGS AT 23)

It’s good to see the stars out and about supporting the election, but they would help the most by standing in those long lines tomorrow like everyone else. It’s one thing to say, but to do means a whole lot more.

  • DanDare

Geeze.. Pull up your pants guys.. that is progress!

Rest in Peace to Madelyn Dunham (Barack’s grandmother):

(CNN) — Sen. Barack Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, said Monday.

    She was 86.

“She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility,” their statement said.

“She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.”

Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held “at a later date.”

Dunham passed away peacefully at her home shortly before midnight Sunday night (5 a.m. ET), campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told CNN. She said Obama learned of her death around 8 a.m.

The Democratic presidential candidate left the campaign trail on October 23 and flew to Honolulu, Hawaii, to spend the day with Dunham, whose health deteriorated after she suffered a broken hip.

His wife, Michelle Obama, filled in for him at events in Columbus and Akron, Ohio, on October 24.

Obama said in an interview taped for that day’s “Good Morning America” that Dunham had been “inundated” with flowers and messages from strangers who read about her in Obama’s 1995 book, “Dreams From My Father.”

“Maybe she is getting a sense of long-deserved recognition toward the end of her life,” he said.

The candidate resumed his campaign on October 25.

Obama has spoken about his grandmother often on the stump, talking about what an integral figure she was in his youth and how she struggled against the glass ceiling in her career. He and his family traveled to Hawaii in August to visit her.

“She’s the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life,” he said in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. “She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she’s watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well.”
