A host of friends, family, and celebrities came out to support Jennifer Hudson and her remaining immediate family:
As Jennifer Hudson attempts to cope with the monstrous tragedy that recently befell her family, the Oscar-winner has been kept afloat by an outpouring of support from famous friends. On Monday afternoon on Chicago’s South Side, Beyoncé, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Fantasia, Missy Elliot, Patti LaBelle and Queen Latifah were among the 450 mourners packing the pews of the Apostolic Church of God for the memorial ceremony to celebrate the life — and mourn the loss of — Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason, and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, who, according to a family friend, all looked “peaceful and well-rested” in their open caskets. Also on hand for the service was Chicago native Oprah Winfrey, who opened up her home to the grieving star. “Jennifer has been staying at Oprah’s East Lake Shore Drive condo,” a source tells OK!.”There’s plenty of privacy and security there for the heartbroken performer.” After following a procession of three hearses and a horse-drawn trolley carrying the child’s coffin, Jennifer entered the church with her fiancé, David Otunga. “She walked in the church with David,” an eyewitness tells OK!. “He was at her side the entire service, wiping her tears and holding her. Jennifer looked equally in shock and mournful throughout the service, but managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family.” “Jennifer looked upset but managed to keep herself together,” a friend tells OK!. The 27-year-old shared the front row with Julian’s mother, Julia, and comforted her sister as she “cried the loudest of anyone.” Despite the difficulties of saying goodbye, Jennifer, 27, and Julia, 31, experienced some uplifting moments. “Jennifer managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family,” adds the insider, “and Fantasia brought the house down with her singing.”
We pray that this joyous homegoing service helps to bring closure to the gaping wound left by this miserable tragedy. Hopefully the family will soon be able to focus on the love and not the pain.

Crazy….RIP again and hopefully Jennifer is in her recovering phase. Please Jennifer bless us with your beautiful voice because God crafted it by hand personally!! Ive been listening to the CD, even more now, and you are the best singer Ive heard since my idol, Whitney Houston. Just stay strong and remember that they are in a better place. This world and earth is only a pit stop.

I feel so sad for Jennifer and her family. Every time I read an article or hear something on the news regarding the murders of her family members it brings tears to my eyes. I hope they charge whom ever is responsible.
SUCH A TRAGEDY. I’M GLAD SHE HAD FRIENDS BY HER SIDE. STAY STRONG JENNIFER AND KEEP GOING WITH YOUR CAREER IN MEMORY OF YOUR FAMILY.

@GEE’S WIFEY, you know what’s amazing is that when the entire cast of The Secret Lives of Bees, including Jennifer, was on Oprah, at the end of the show, Oprah looks at David and tells him to “take good care of our girl”. He smiled and nodded that he would. Who would have known that a few weeks later, he indeed would have to step up to the plate and be a pillar of strength for her. I’m sure she’s being well supported and after awhile, will be just fine.

@ Daywalker – I almost dreaded logging in today because I knew that I would feel compelled to tell you how I really feel, instead of smiling in your face while thinking the worst. I know that Friday’s incident isn’t any of my business, but I insist on choosing with whom I *****ociate. I had already reached the point of wondering if you were real or just an act, but Friday kinda confirmed it for me. As far as that “Punk” guy she’s engaged to, all I can say is Star Jones and Al Reynolds. I hope that he’s not using her for his own non-career advancement.

There’s a lot I could say about that, but I’ll let it speak for itself.
I read in the paper yesterday that Julian’s teacher recalled how smart Julian was, at the memorial this weekend, and how everytime he raised his hand he always had the right answer. They also read recollections from his cl*****mates, and one of them said that they were sad because now they couldn’t vote for Julian to become President of the United States.
That really pierced me, that a child would write that of a fellow cl*****mate. This bright, intelligent, well-liked child…… taken out, murdered, because of the UTTER STUPIDITY of his elders.
We got to do better.
God bless Jennifer and the rest of the Hudson family; and God triply bless Jennifer for trying to make her way in the world through hard work, the right way.

Maybe. But at least there’s no chance of the punk wiping out the rest of her family. Better to be Star Jones than Julia right now.
RIP Hudson Family and peace and blessings to Jennifer and Julia. The truth will come out, death is so final and it brings the truth with it. Jennifer will be forever changed, but for the better, it will take her a long time to get over the shock. Julia will not be able to remain the same either. There were so many messages in the leaked details of the murder that this should be a lesson to everyone: DRUGS KILL ANYONE, ANYWHERE, AT ANYTIME. That is not a judgment, that is truth.
I want to send my love to Jennifer’s family and friends. I hope that justice is served for everyone who was done wrong by senseless violence.

I would like to send my deepest sympathy to Jennifer Hudson and other family and friends. I can NOT say I know how she feels but I can imagine. May GOD BLESS HER SOUL the way she has been.

Who says that David aka Punk has to take Jenn’s money especially after all she’s been through. He’s well off with his own career and all celebs should get prenups anyway. I do agree that this tragedy will test their relationship but hopefully it’s for the better. I hope this makes him want to marry her even more. I guess we’ll see. I’m so sorry Jenn and Julia for your loss.
