Preach! I knew so many girls (and dudes) like Solange growing up and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Solange is confused as hell. She, just like her sister, has an identity problem. They both have the habit of always feeling the need to prove themselves to people. I remember when she did the ‘Bring It On’ movie, she was on Tyra doing an interview and said how out-of-character the ghetto girl role was for her. But it seems like she took that role a lil too seriously . I guess that’s another thing Solange and Beyonce have in common – they are always trying to become the characters they played in movies.

I think suburbian black folks sometimes try to come off hood because when you’re fro suburbia or grew up with money (not aquired by dope dealer daddy) black people automatically give the ‘bourgeois’ label, which isolates them and basically says, ‘you’re not black enough’ or ‘you’re an Oreo’….so when you don’t want to get that label (in the case of Solonge and the fact that her album is more appealing to the underground scene versus Beyonce’s universal audience) one gets thirsty and tries to hard to be as black as they can be…so you stage n*gga moments.
