Green Party representative Ralph Nader, who only polled 1% (513,347) of the votes, had the audacity to pose the question of whether Obama would be an Uncle Sam for America or an Uncle Tom for the big corporations. Watch as the reporter check his pasty @ss with the quickness and let’s him know that he’s been “reduced to irrelevancy.”

Ain’t happening Brah. The FED was set up to allow a private company (which is all the reserve is) to subsidize private banks with public money. They not trying to let go of that cash cow. Before, they only had access to investment banking funds but since they repealed the Glass-Steagall Act in 99 (under peoples noses) they now have complete freedom to use commercial banking money (i.e. our savings, mortgages,etc.) This economic melt down is not without reason. Just a means to an end.

If you look on Wikipedia, here is the definition of Uncle Tom: “It is commonly used to describe black people whose political views or allegiances are considered by their critics as detrimental to blacks as a group.” Nader has been vocal on those issues where he feels Obama isn’t representing the blacks that are poor. He could have said it more diplomatically. Why didn’t Fox have Sarah Palin come on and repeat her innuendo that Obama is a terrorist? Fox only had Nader on during the campaign to try and drum up votes for Nader that would take away votes for Obama.

well, while it has always been nader’s responsibility to check both parties and their candidates, the idea that he would have to resort to an attack of racial nature only underscores both his dwindling relevance or his own perceived lack of it. there are a million of insults that he could have thrown out there, but that one was sad.
he hurt himself and his cause with that one. he knows who the audience is when he appears on fox news, and he chose a curious audience to choose such wording in front of. the fact that it backfired, and even fox rejected his pathetic attempt at striking a chord with their own base only highlights how far removed from relevancy he is.
I know certain words and terms are “hot button” words for us folk, but he didn’t explicitly call Obama that. Poor choice of words, perhaps, but the underlying point is more important. Will Obama really do anything for black people, especially those of us in the hood? That remains to be seen. A brother in the office is a step in the right direction, but a hell of a lot more has to happen than that for any real progress.
Quick point, Obama talked a hell of a lot about alternative energy, but his campaign was run by a nuclear power consultant and one of his biggest contributors was an nuclear power company. Historically, money talks and presidents spend their terms repaying those who paved their path into office.

No, McCain is a relic of the Reagan era. A lot of Nader’s politics are a hell of a lot more progressive than Obama’s and many other Democrats. As a black man, I was one of the few blacks (who isn’t a republican) that didn’t jump up and down or cry for an Obama victory. Mainly, because I never drunk Obama’s Kool-Aid. The Republicans and Democrats should fuse together and call themselves the Business Party. The Republicrats/Demopublicans are nothing but a bunch of devils. Only a select few are progressives and Obama is not one of them.
Barack Obama did not win. Big Business did. Black people will find that out in years to come.
Obama mentions the poor/working poor everyday. Hell he organized in poor communities. If you want to read his policies, check the web site. Listen to his speeches. Nader may have had a point to be made but when you use race baiting terms, no one listens. Do you suggest that we should all look past the comment? I’m sure black people solely voted for Obama based on his policy positions (Yeah, right). If white people voted that strongly for McCain, I am sure that “movement” would be called something else. I am sure white people who propped up the black vote did so, not to be “part of history” and to exorcise the inheritance of a post-colonial guilt complex. You cannot honestly believe that if it were a white man with Obama’s complete lack of accomplishment (and was a member of a racist church and had the associations he had), he would have made it through the primaries. To be FAIR, a three-legged dog could have defeated the Republicans this year. You only had to look at the news anchors and pundits blubbering in their tears to know that America became a far sadder place. A place where AN INDIVIDUAL (not a black man) cannot be judged based on his merits for the position, but only chosen for his genetic ancestry. You people do not see him as a man, who began backpedalling (aka “lying”) in his victory speech about how he’ll need two terms to accomplish what he promised during his campaign would be done with the first 100 days of his presidency. But you’ll give him a pass. John McCain was a poor candidate as well, but at least he sacrificed himself for his country and knew the true meaning of “honor”, something Obama could never hope to understand. Again, you all voted against Bush as a symbol, and rightfully so. But most people did not register a protest vote against McCain the individual as much as they registered a vote symbolically against the Republican party and Bush. People could not see McCain for the INDIVIDUAL he was, and his record of working across party lines. They were too caught up in the symbolism of Obama. Obama himself even said “t I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripe project their own views”. Become a symbol and you become EVERYTHING to Americans. Well when it comes to the next four years- prepare to be at best, disappointed, and at worst, have your lives fall further into ruin.
Let’s not be ignorant here, Nadar is a good man who has always put the best interests of the people first. He did not call Obama an uncle Tom. Congratz to Obama, in 2008 we took the country back.

Obama’s ancestry doesn’t exempt him from being called an uncle tom as there is no precise definition of the term unless it’s based on the characterization on Uncle Tom in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel. Plenty of Africans familiar with the term use it to refer to their countrymen who sucked up to their colonial masters.
The real test of whether or not Obama’s an uncle tom is what he will do to address discrimination that specifically disadvantages blacks. Will he simply sit back, scared of upsetting white voters, the mainstream media and corporate interests? Or, as well as “governing for all”, will he actually tackle the disgracefully practises of the previous US regimes? What will he do on issues like the biased criminal justice system, death penalty, ex-cons voting rights and congressional representation for DC residents amongst many others? On foreign will he continue his proposed blanket support for racist Israel or now he’s been elected will he stop sucking up to the jewish lobby? Only time will tell.
Naders first mistake was to use that term, his second was trying to defend it and his third was trying to defend it on fox “news”. Shepard Smith set him up from the start of the segment and had his phoney outrage planned well in advance.

3. If you are biblically astute you know all of this is written and are best recourse is to prepare to the best of our ability. Nov 15 the world financers will be holding the revised Bretton Woods meeting to institute the new currency policy that will probably take effect somewhere between Feb and March. If you have money in your savings see about a currency exchange to Euro or some other foreign capital. When the dollar crashes it could be a designated period time say like a month before they introduce the Amero. So do what you can.
4. Its a little late in the game and even us who know a little are still behind the eight ball so get your paper up while you can, stash your arms, and see about starting some gardens in your backyard and learn how to harvest seeds.
5.
