An Independence man is facing a long list of charges, including a felony, after what deputies at the Hamilton County Justice say they found upon searching him there. William Booth, 35, allegedly tried to smuggle in a syringe filled with heroin in his pants. A deputy was stuck by the syringe. Booth had an additional charged of illegal conveyance tacked on to his rap sheet.

Booth had been placed under arrest after being seen driving erratically, running into a construction site near 1300 Race Street around 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Booth was found to be in possession of pills, marijuana and two additional syringes in his car.
