I married my biracial wife because she’s pretty, smart, funny and sweet as hell. We stay together because we love each other, make each other laugh, have good sex and want to raise our son in a strong family unit. We were both lucky enough to be raised in one.

I didn’t marry her because she’s biracial. I met her in a black club and kicked it to her because I thought she was cute and had a nice body. I started dating her after that because we just plain dug each other. I married her because I knew she was it for me. She’s light skin, but what does that matter?

The girl I dated before was very dark skinned, hatian, fine, with a brickhouse body. She broke up with me, because I wasn’t “Christian” enough for her family. My girl before her was Puerto Rican. None of them were chosen because of their skin color or nationality. I’ve never dated a white girl, but that just happens to be the case, not because there’s something wrong with it.

Answer me this, I had a mother, and have two sisters who show no stereotypical “ABW” attitude, they are pretty, smart and funny in their own right. None of them ever had any problem getting boyfriends, or finding husbands. They definitely don’t trip when they see two complete strangers of different races together.

To me it seems that some black women have the same problem as some black men. They have the wrong idea of what it means to be a strong black person. Pissed off does does not equal strong. If folks would just care less about what other people do, and concentrate on their own happiness I think they might see life differently.

Shout out to SMDH for contributing and keeping the name Kim Kardashian alive.

Now by all means I love black men.My father is a black man, my brother is a black man and I am in love with a black man whom also loves me dearly and I know this for a fact (unless he’s a very good actor). We are both rather young (early 20′s) and working our butts off so that we and hopefully our family will have a decent to very nice future. One however has to think, if I met him say in a parallel universe and he was successful and wealthy or a superstar… would we still have gotten together. Who knows I guess I should be happy that I am happy, and thank god for everything he has given me which I do most days and every night. SMDH not all black men are like Reggie Bush (Unfortunately most of those like Reggie Bush are). Nor do they all covet other races of women. Nor are they all criminals, or absentee fathers. My father has been a part of my life since conception and has remained a part of my life. He has sacraficed, cried, disciplined, laughed, and loved both me and my brother just as much as my mom. He’s changed as many diapers, done my hair (though only when absoloutely necessary) and played as much or more of a role than my mother. I have no doubts in my mind my boyfriend will make a wonderfull husband and a loving father. So while a lot of our black men do have our faults there are those who love us more than anything and make great husbands and father. Lets not forget that much.

I like to live a mixture of both cultures…as I raise my two children to know both their black and white cultures. When asked what I am, I don’t just say one or the other, I say I’m African American and caucasion. I don’t just pick one because I like to think I’m very open-minded to embrace all races. Besides, I’m me. I don’t need to claim I’m either/or honestly because it really doesn’t matter. I’m a good hearted person and a great mother, and that’s all I care about.

I will not be one to stereo type or classify the black man.. I Love Love Love my beautiful black man. =)

Kimberlee…I agree. I’ve stated on this site before that it DEFINATELY matters where you live on how people act differently. Trust me. I’m from Columbus, Ohio…it’s not bad at all here. You run into a few problems depending on what side of town you’re on, but overall, it’s not bad at all.

Be..what? I know, it really disappoints me that society views things a lot of ways that they do. And that’s why people have all these stereotypes and problems with racism because they only see what they want to see, not for what it really is.

@Kimberlee – well where you live may be a good indication of your experience but it can not erase history. Historically, bi-racial people where considered black. In present times this may still hold true depending where you live and your upbringing. I think you can live anywhere and be raised to have good morals and values with a strong adult presence. I live in the east coast in New Jersey and I grew up in an urban environment and now live in the suburbs and there is nothing new under the sun. There are just as many uninformed whites as blacks and indians and hispanics. As well as several “ghetto” whites, blacks, indians, hispanics….so location is not everything

I’m in Jersey too, but very close to Philadelphia. So I understand, and hear, both urban & rural attitudes, and see tolerant/nontolerant points of view…

I know though, that this new Administration will do alot to change peoples attitudes, and for that I’m excited!
