I have never been so baffled, bewildered, shocked, confused, saddened, and just plainly ashamed in my whole life! I just read so much ignorance that I had to stop three-quarters through because it made my head hurt. Now…. let’s clear the air. According to websters, the definition of a man is:

2. a member of the species Homo sapiens or all the members of this species collectively, without regard to sex: prehistoric man.

Focusing on the first definition – if legally Mr. Beatie is a man, then who is anyone to dispute that? After the US law, you can’t get any higher. If you want to throw the whole religion aspect into it, at the end of the day – my God, your God, Obama’s God does not matter to Mr. Beatie. Mr. Beatie has to answer to his God.

I did manage to make a it through a comment basically saying “that’s why the world is messed up and that makes me have to explain things I’m not ready for to my children.” YOU are the reason that the world is so messed up. What Mr. Beatie does, has ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY no effect on your being, existence, or life. Name one way that Mr. Beatie’s having a child affects your day to day activies. DON’T WORRY…. I’LL WAIT!

As far as explaining this to children, how/why is it hard. Mr. Beatie was a girl and he felt like he was placed in the wrong body. So he took hormones and had surgery to remove his breasts so he would feel better in the body that he’s in. Because Mr. Beatie’s wife could not have children and he didn’t have surgery to remove his reproductive organs, then he said that he’d have the baby for her. Point blank, the end. If you want to tell that to your kids verbatim – don’t worry, I won’t sue.

The children will not end up messed up in the head. A child only knows a much as his/her parents teach them. If parents exposed their kids to a variety of different situations, educate them on the things that they’re ignorant to, and teach them to love themselves – there is absolutely no way that a child is going to grow up screwed up in the head.

Everybody has to do their part in this. At the end of the day, transgender people exist. There’s nothing that society can do to sweep this under the rug. It’s not something that someone wakes up and decides to do. Why the hell would anyone want to go to therapy for six months just to get a letter from a therapist, wait four months for an endocrinologist that specializes in transgender medicine, have surgeries that sometimes have to be repeated to get the desired look, go through puberty all over again, go through the rigamarole of getting your name and gender changed legally, and most of all: deal with the ignorance and judgement that people pass on you. WHO THE HELL IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD CHOOSE THAT?! Who would have signed up for slavery in Africa?!

I hate for this to sound like a rant but I have never been so disappointed in my life. Considering we’ve been in a strange land and oppressed for over 400 years, you’d think that we would not have the gall to oppress another people. And in the same way. This is truly disturbing and will undoubtedly be confusing for children who see this or hear about it. However, Thomas Beatie is not the first “pregnant man”. Google or Youtube the name Lee Mingwei. Mr. Mingwei is a Taiwanese American male, who was born a man, who had an embryo implanted in his abdominal cavity. He is the first and only true “Pregnant Man”.

The use of a non-human pronoun for a human person, be they male, female, hermaphrodite or transgender, is wildly inappropriate. Regardless of whether you like, hate, respect, or love a person or their actions, we do not dehumanize people. That is not acceptable. Things are “it.” Animals are “it.” People are NEVER an “it.”

Dehumanization is the first step towards destruction, because you cannot dehumanize another without losing some of your humanity in the process. Dehumanization helps normal people do some very, very, abominably abnormal things: torture, murder, destroy. This is because removing the humanity of another also removes the obligation to human empathy, mercy, and love – all emotions that God and His Son have decreed we should feel for ALL of his children, not just a select few.

So whether you like, hate, love, or feel whatever way about the choices Mr. Beatie has made, you are still speaking about a HUMAN being.
