Blame it on the “Pleasure Principle”?

Janet Jackson has revealed she first came across coke at 11 years old during wild parties at New York’s infamous Studio 54 nightclub. The singer, describing the dangers child stars are exposed to at a young age to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, told how she initially thought the white powder was flour:

“I was ten. Ten/eleven years old at [Studio] 54 dancing,” Jackson recalled. “You know it was the first time I ever saw drugs. I couldn’t figure out why people were putting flour up their nose. I thought that was the stupidest thing.”

The 45-year-old also touched on her secret marriage to James DeBarge, aged just 18. “I was eighteen, I had gone though a lot in my life. I was in a relationship, no one knew that I was married. I was going through a lot with my marriage,” the ‘Rhythm Nation’ star revealed.

“It’s not a secret everyone knows he had issues at that time with drugs. It’s very difficult on a kid, on an eighteen year old. I was still a baby.”
