Here is the Man that has the entire World on Lock right now on the cover of December’s GQ Magazine. The Magazine announced Obama as “The Man of the Year”.

Some women should hold a strike on sex until your man cops that “Obama swag”. Barack and Michelle are the “new cool”.

    Good Morning, Mr. President!

    Obama can get it!!!!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    I LOVE YOU…

    @Hannibal! You made my day! Right back at cha Papi!!!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    U MADE MY DAY WITH YOUR NEW GRAVIE…U ARE TOO BEAUTIFUL…

  • it’s me dammit!!!

    @hannibal, Are you still binging on the fact that Obama won, give my condolences to MCCAIN/Palin!!!!

    Obama 08!!!!!

  • Raquel26

    I have to laugh at the ignorant comment about him being able to “get it”. LOL

    I’m assuming that this is how that person thinks with any other attractive black man in vicinity. And validates that our society is over-sexed and sexed crazed.

    In any event, Obama and his wife, Michelle have definitely upped the style game in the White House. Not since Jackie Onassis Kennedy, have I seen a woman so regal and classy. Obama is definitely an attractive black man. I admire a man who can marry the woman who birthed his children and to remain in their lives as a rold model and father figure.

    If you want Obama to help “the black people”, let’s FIRST start by being good mothers and fathers to the children that YOU bring into this world and stop letting the state raise them.

    That’s where you need to start. And to not just assume that because Obama is black that he will help the black community.

  • Hannibal

    @IT’S ME DAMMIT!!!

    EVEN THOUGH I AM STILL HURT THAT OBAMA WON, I GIVE HIM PROPS…NO HATIN OVER HERE…

  • Special K

    @ Damian Thorne

    Yeah the anitchrist was Bush the one who started wars and let the terrorist in! We have already experienced the antichrist for a whole 8 years!

  • MissBlaze43

    @ Damian Thorne

    Yeah, THAT WAS BUSH!!!!!

  • Somer

    Damn that election aged him. He went from looking 40 to looking like a nice looking 57yr old.

  • truth 17

    First of all you psycho people who think Obama is the antichrist? I mean do you tell tell your children this foolishness? Didn’t God say to not be fearful and psychos like you are out here calling people the antichrist! The last I remember there isn’t a person living that has come from the grave with reports from Moses and GOD. And yes, Obama looks like his face melted into Denzel’s.

  • MissBlaze43

    @ BE

    Not only that, if we DID have to hold out on Sex until we found someone line Obama, IT’LL BE A LONG AS TIME BEFORE WE GOT ANY!!!

    Let me just put THAT out there!!!

  • Special K

    @ MissBlzae

    you and I agree sweetie

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal… LOL Thank you so very much! =) I’m just tryna keep up with all of your good looking pix!! I think you’re beating me though!

  • MissBlaze43

    @ Somer

    I said the same thing, Honey. His hair seems to be getting greyer and greyer with each picture he takes.

    If you remember, the same thing happened to Clinton. His hair was darker while running for president, but when he finally got in the white house, his hair was fully grey.

  • DDub

    HE does look less like himself and more like a cross between Denzel and a random indian.

  • Phenomenal Me… Ms. Dee (Our 44th President of the United States of America… Barack Hussein Obama!! YEAAAAAH BOOOOOOOYYYY!)

    A Distinguished Gentleman…soon to be our President! MUCH RESPECT!!!

  • Sydney

    Very nice cover.

    I thought Obama looked very debonair last night (and he had some substantive things to say about the ailing economy) in his interview on 60 Minutes, and he and Michelle look great together. I loved it when they held hands while they talked and complimented each other. :)

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    NO, U GOT IT ALL WRONG MA. THAT ONE PICTURE IS BETTER THAN ALL OF MINE PUT TOGETHER, U WIN…

  • MissBlaze43

    @ Mz Cee.

    I like that… ‘Good morning, Mr. President’ every time I think about it, I want to cry. I’m STILL elated about this.

    ******************

    Granted, our new President does look good in a suite, it’s something about the way he looks in a baseballcap and jeans and when he has those shades on, OMG you’d think he was 30 or something. He looks so youthful – best lookin’ president we’ve had in a long time.

  • BE

    @MissBlaze – @ BE

    Not only that, if we DID have to hold out on Sex until we found someone line Obama, IT’LL BE A LONG AS TIME BEFORE WE GOT ANY!!!

    Let me just put THAT out there!!!

    *******************************

    True, True

    But that is a hard line to toe for any man, personalities like Obama, Denzel, Will Smith and others do not come around often which is why many of these people become leaders or entertainers because they have the ability to capture people’s attention. Now Obama is also a very smart man which puts him in another league (not that Denzel and Will are not smart)

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal… LOL I would beg to differ, you still got me beat! I like your new gravatar too.

    But you’re too cute and sweet! I’m sure we’re making people gag with all of this sweet talk! LOL but it’s a change from our usual bickering about Obama! I like this being nice to each other thing, it’s working for me! Let’s keep it up!

  • Sydney

    @MissBlaze

    I think Obama is my generation’s JFK. I can understand why many of the Kennedys put their support behind him.

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    ANYTHING FOR U…

  • Just Sayin

    Is it me or does our new President look darker and darker. Don’t get me wrong (I’m so black used to hide in the shadows when playing hide and go seek), but it seems that publishers are embracing/using his blackness more and more.

    Will they PS him to have him lookin like Akon by the time of the Inauguration.

    :-)

  • Pynk

    @HANNIBAL… careful what you say!

  • Wakeupeople

    He looks so different on this cover!!

  • Razzell Dazzell

    @ Hannibal “hi hater.” Handsome, intelligent, articulate, charismatic has a beautiful wife and children…..Barack and my husband have some in common:). America….we made the right decison!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    LOL, OK IM SORRY, I WONT HIT ON U AMYMORE…

  • Pynk

  • Hannibal

    @I LOVE HANNIBAL

    LOL…

    @RAZZELL DAZZELL

    WHY U CALL ME A HATER?

  • Pynk

    Hannibal, I meant be careful what you say, you said

    “@PYNK

    ANYTHING FOR U…”

    so I was saying, be careful I may take you up on that offer! Anything huh? Hmmm lemme see what I can ask for?

  • Flipper Purefoy

    *Yes, Obama is his own person, but I’m sorry, to me, he raises the bar. He offers general America a vision of an African-American family that they don’t normally see in mainstream culture. The fact that they will be in the public eye for the next four years and beyond is wonderful.

    And I think women should withhold sex anyway — at least until they meet a man who’s worthy of receiving such a treasure.*

    That’s the most silliest statement i’ve read in quite some time. If you’re going to use Obama as your personal measuring to find your perfect suitor, then expect not to only live a life of disappointment but also a lonely existence. You sound like some star-strucked stan.

  • BE

    @Sydney – Yes, Obama is his own person, but I’m sorry, to me, he raises the bar. He offers general America a vision of an African-American family that they don’t normally see in mainstream culture. The fact that they will be in the public eye for the next four years and beyond is wonderful.

    ***************************

    He raises the awareness that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and the family life will be a good role model for many people black or otherwise. But I would never compare my husband to Obama because it is not fair. Obama is a wonderful man true but there is more than one way to be wonderful. Being secure and responsible and loving are all good traits but everybody is not going to be there. Some of these traits have to be worked and built up, once you start comparing men to other men you will most likely shut that man’s confidence down so either he is going to leave you or resent you.

    Picking up Obamas traits are good but comparing not so much..just a word from a been there done that married person.

  • Razzell Dazzell

    Denzel is not handsome enough to be Obama, niether is Will!

  • Razzell Dazzell

    @ Hannibal….my bad, what had happen waz….LOL! I didn’t read your previous post, have we brought you over from the dark side yet? LOL!

  • Hannibal

    @RAZZELL DAZZELL

    WHAT U TALKIN ABOUT? I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD GUY, I NEVER BEEN ON THE DARK SIDE…

  • Sydney

    @Flipper Purefoy

    Obama exhibits characteristics that I’ve always found attractive in men — intelligence, motivation, strong sense of family, etc. And, yes, I think it’s great to have a man like that on the national stage just as I think Michelle is a representation of a number of black women. And I think those images are powerful to have in the public’s view.

    @BE

    “Being secure and responsible and loving are all good traits but everybody is not going to be there.”

    The man I choose to marry will have those traits because I consider them to be the minimum requirement in a relationship. For me personally, to accept less would be settling. Just my opinion.

  • i love HANNIBAL!!!!!

    IM NOT LAUGHING HANNIBAL…. IVE LOVED YOU FROM THE MOMENT THAT I SAW YOU….SAYING SUM CRAZY ISH ABT OBAMA BUT ITS OK. I 4GIVE YOU. WHEN R U COMING TO THE D? I THINK WE’D HAVE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN.

  • Flipper Purefoy

    *measuring stick*

  • Hannibal

    I WILL BE IN DETROIT IN DECEMBER…

  • BE

    @Sydney – The man I choose to marry will have those traits because I consider them to be the minimum requirement in a relationship. For me personally, to accept less would be settling. Just my opinion.

    **********************

    And you should not consider anything less and there are many men out there that are like that I am sure. I was more talking about having faith in a man’s growth just like a man should respect that a woman can grow in certain areas. I do not think I was as loving as I am now with my husband when I met him but I grew in that area. But I had a whole list of other things that made me a good person.

  • Razzell Dazzell

    @ Hannibal….Hello! The McCain insane campaign silly! For some reason I think you knew what I was taling about. I know what you did this weekend, you went and purchased both of Barack Obama’s books. Good for you sir, your on the right path, keep up and we’ll have you saying “YES I CAN” in no time at all! I expect a full report by Sunday, no excuses.

  • Sydney

    @BE

    “I was more talking about having faith in a man’s growth just like a man should respect that a woman can grow in certain areas. I do not think I was as loving as I am now with my husband when I met him but I grew in that area. But I had a whole list of other things that made me a good person.”

    I agree that there are areas we can all grow in — no one’s perfect, and I think we’re all works in progress. I think individuals differ on the qualities that they believe their partner should already bring to the table. People have varying views on this concept, I know.

    And, yes, I know there are men who already have these qualities — and I think they are the ones worth the time and wait. :)

  • Kompton’s Kutie {{Suivez la Faveur}}

    I wonder will there be a “Barack Obama Day”?! A day we all need to be off on.

  • Pynk

    one more time Hannibal…

    “@PYNK

    so I was saying, be careful I may take you up on that offer! Anything huh? Hmmm lemme see what I can ask for?

    And Hannibal, I know that’s you behind the I LOVE HANNIBAL!!! name. You’re signing in and acting to be someone else loving you and sending yourself messages! LOL Now cut that out!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    LMAO, NAW THATS NOT ME…AND BESIDES, YOU ARE THE ONLY WOMAN FOR ME…

  • Pynk

    @ Hannibal, ohhh please!! C’mon, can’t you come up with something original to tell me, not something that you tell every girl on here! LOL I deserve some originality!!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

  • Pynk

    OMG LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

    Yea and I have blonde hair and blue eyes! Do you believe that?

    Dang, I was thinking you were gonna give me some original, creative talk. REAL TALK!! Oh well, I guess I was wrong about you… and to think I thought I was special! LOL

  • MsPoodle22

    Love Barack, but that pic makes him look OLD!

  • Hannibal

  • http://aol ebonieladi

    @DAMIAN

    DIDN’T YOU STAR IN THE OMEN?

  • AblaznBeauti from Th@t Place Called My~Sp@ce

    Oue New President looks quiet handsome. I noticed the graying started kicking in more when he was speaking at Widner. It’s good to seem him on the cover of GQ, but I would rather see him working to get this country back on it’s feet. Bush is leaving him with a lot of dirty laundry to sort through. I pray that he is surrounded by the right people to help build him up and not tear him down hint..hint..-> MKKKain.

    Obama.. Don’t do it

  • chaka1

    THANK YOU!

    Don’t step to me with those tired playa games. I am looking for an Obama man for real…

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal! MUAH!! You’re sweet! You can make me smile…

  • Who Dat

    Make it rain on dem hoes!

  • Pynk

    I need a man like Obama. But I think I’ll be celibate and single for a loooooong time waiting for a man like that!

  • Raquel26

    I dont think that men need to act like, look like, and or dress like Barack Obama. Although its a good measure of what you would want a man in your life to mirror. Moreso, I want my man to have the same values and morals that any decent, good man will have. And we all know that nowadays most men dont have any respecy, any morals, or values for that matter. So, starting there is probably a hard feat in itself.

    I think we got “looking-good” down at this point.

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    I SEE U NEED A MAN LIKE OBAMA, WELL I GUESS MY CHANCES OF GETTIN WITH U JUST KEEP GETTIN SLIMMER LOL…

  • Oshie – lay down on the floor, I want the Gs and the money or everybody gotta Go

    He is dreamy….

  • Sydney

    @Pynk

    “I need a man like Obama. But I think I’ll be celibate and single for a loooooong time waiting for a man like that!”

    There’s only one Obama, but there are men with great qualities out there. I think you have to know what you want, stick to your standards, and weed out the undesirables early. I’m less afraid of being alone than being with a man with whom I’m not compatible.

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal…

    I have faith in you, you can change so you can get with me! LOL what are you saying… you’re not a good man like Obama?

    c’mon babe give me faith that there are good men out there! LOL I’m counting on you

  • Wakeupeople

    Hi skin tone is lighter that this, why did GQ make him darker? Black people come in all shades and sizes, no need to photoshop GQ, whether he is light or dark he is still black.

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    IM A GOOD MAN, BUT EVEN I CAN’T COMPETE WITH THE PRESIDENT…BARACK IS JUST MAKIN EVERY MAN LOOK BAD…ALL THE LADIES LOVE HIM…

  • Pynk

    @Sydney…

    Thanks! I became single recently because I chose to be alone then with someone I’m not compatible with. It’s much nicer! It’s was very frustrating before. I can set my standards high but I think then I’ll be single forever! LOL I know there are a few good men out there. I’m patient and in nooooooo damn hurry! Hopefully Obama can influence some of these guys.

  • http://gallery.me.com/silkyj#100088 Txhustla15 (Austin’s Finest)

    Yeah Han you might need to take care business there, cause Pynk if u were in Texas you would get took heh. I got the pernil asado and coconut rice goin on the late tip today and mi espanol es muy perfecto.

    I am feelin though the president elect is for the BCS Playoff system as well and knows his football thats whats up.

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal…

    Well baby just step your game up! Yes we all love Obama. The style, the love for his wife and the love for his family. What every girl wants. I’m sure you can give that to a lady one day. It’s not like we’re asking for the WORLD!!! We just want a man that will love us and look at us like he looks at Michelle.

  • Hannibal

    WELL PYNK, IF THATS WHAT U WANT, THATS WHAT I AM WILLING TO DO…JUST FOR U THOUGH…

  • JOEY BISHOP

    Girl, I can totally relate — I’ve had a variety of dating experiences and have reached the point when I’m truly comfortable with what I want and I’m more than willing to wait for it. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having high standards — if you don’t have standards, you have the capacity to fall for anything. Put yourself first and I believe things will fall into place when the time is right. In the meantime, enjoy yourself!

    @Joey Bishop

    “dudes are jealous of obama”

    I agree — sometimes their claws come out during an Obama conversation, lol. It strikes me as odd because I love it when brothers gush about Michelle being the kind of woman they want. I think she’s great.

  • Pynk

    Dudes should be jealous of him! HE’S GOT IT GOING ON!!!

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal… k I’m waiting then! Come rescue me!!

  • Hannibal

    @PYNK

    I WOULD, BUT I SEE U ONLY LIKE PUERTO RICAN MEN (TXHUSTLA) SO IM JUST GONNA FALL BACK…

  • JOEY BISHOP

  • Pynk

    @Hannibal!!!

    I never said that is what I like! No don’t fall back stay where you are. LOL He was just saying… ahhh

  • Hannibal

    @JOEY BISHOP

    LET ME GUESS, U WANT HER TOO…

  • JOEY BISHOP

    @hannibal…i’m tryin to help YOU get her

  • Pynk

    @sydney

    Thanks girl for that uplifting message! So many of us are in the same boat. I’m in no hurry and I know things will fall in place when they are ready to. I’m not trippn! I’m enjoying being single now. I haven’t been single in six or seven years. So this is very nice! You keep your head up too!

    Yes, girl, keep those standards high! *hug*

    @Joey Bishop

    “@sydney—>>> good point,,come to think of it,,i havent heard any females hatin on michelle,,im quite surprised by that.”

    I’m not surprised — I think many sisters feel they can relate to her and they look at her as an inspiration. They see themselves in her and the goals they want to accomplish, so it’s all positive, at least from my perspective and what I’ve come across.

  • Pynk

    @Joey Bishop….

    I don’t see any ladies ever hating on Michelle ever. She’s too classy and beautiful to find anything bad to say. We support her. She is such a role model for women out there.

    LOL, yup, that may be it. Well, everyone has an opinion. :)

    @Joey Bishop

    I still can’t believe he’s president-elect either. I think it’s still surreal for a lot of people.

  • http://gallery.me.com/silkyj#100088 Txhustla15 (Austin’s Finest)

    @Pynk – No doubt , my moms is from panama and other family on her side is by way of jamaica so have all those recipes on lock.If you click my link shows some pictures of where my fam comes from down theres. When coming up my older sister couldnt cook so taught myself to cook for the both of us and it just ran from there – name any cuisine even down to sushi it all gets done. I was feeling like a little pernil asado today so hooking that up for later after bouncing from office with plaintains , coconut rice with black beans.

    There is always travel, Texas is where it though – i dont know about waiting cause we are certified down here heh.

  • WordtotheWise

    @Raquel26 & Sydney>>>you just spoke the truth.

    Sydney, I know exactly what you mean. Men are always complaining that black women want thugs, but when you say you want a man with characteristics such as Obama’s, they say you are being unrealistic. Go figure? You have upped the bar when it comes to the man you want. I wish more women of all races would do the same instead of settling for someone just because.

  • WordtotheWise

    Oh, and another thing, that good man may not come in the package you want. I think a lot of women turn away good men because they don’t have the swagger, etc. Sometimes you might be immediately be attracted to someone, but when you get to know them, it grows.

  • Sydney

    @Word to the Wise

    “Men are always complaining that black women want thugs, but when you say you want a man with characteristics such as Obama’s, they say you are being unrealistic.”

    I think the men who find a man with these type of qualities unrealistic probably doesn’t have them to begin with because there are men who DO have similar characteristics. And if you’re not where you want to be and want to aim higher, it’s in your hands.

  • weeeee

    He is the finest president this country has seen!!!

  • Raquel26

    It’s funny that all I see on here is talk about:

    1) How fine he is

    2) How you dont like that his hair is too salt and peppery

    3) He is so foine!

    WTF? Do you even know the issues that he is talking about? What he is doing now before he gets into the White House? Who he as appointed to be in his administration?

    This is what irritates me about black people. Since all the hoopla is gone, we now have reverted to “gossipy” talk about superficial sh_t that should be left for people like Bey, and Ri-Ri.

    Obama does NOT fall into this category.

    Boy, we are some superficial people. No wonder we spend THE MOST money in America, but yet, have the lowest percentage in assets.

    Let’s talk about the real issues. F_ck his hair…..how many of you working folks will be upset when he wants to increase funds for people on WELFARE? How do you feel about more money coming out of your check to help some able-bodied being take care of THEIR kids?

    Oh, but he looks good though.

    *shaking head*

  • Pynk

    @TxHustla15

    Beautiful pix. Oh my! If I were you I’d be living there! Not Texas… That is what I love about being multicultural, all the diff variety of cuisines. I’m moving closer to my Dad’s family this coming year and I’ll shadow my Abuela in the kitchen so she can teach me how to cook everything!! My mom taught my brother’s how to cook. They can cook anything and good! I think women took advantage of that though. They’d get a woman who wouldn’t cook a damn thing!

  • Mrs. E

    I am so agreeing with TAE’s observation. He does look just like Denzel in this picture. Is it some kind of airbrushed thing?

  • Razzell Dazzell

    Mrs. E

    Denzel doesn’t come close to President Elect Obama, neither does will. No mam, Obama, Obama (but of course no one can touch my hubby).

  • Sydney

    @Raquel26

    Are you referring to his proposal to extend unemployment benefits? Given today’s news that Citigroup is going to shed more than 50,000 jobs and the possible collapse of major auto makers, many Americans have lost or face losing their jobs, and I believe Obama wants to work on preventing the deepening of a national recession.

    Right now, he’s focusing on putting together a team of the best minds to deal with the financial crisis, as he detailed last night on 60 Minutes. Below is an excerpt on how he plans to address the needs of homeowners who haven’t been adequately helped by the $700 billion bailout:

    “Mr. Obama: Well, you know I think we still have to see how this thing unfolds over the next couple of months. One area that I’m concerned about, and I’ve said this publicly, is we have not focused on foreclosures and what’s happening to homeowners as much as I would like. We have the tools to do it. We’ve gotta set up a negotiation between banks and borrowers so that people can stay in their homes. That is gonna have an impact on the economy as a whole. And, you know, one thing I’m determined is that if we don’t have a clear focused program for homeowners by the time I take office, we will after I take office.”

    As for appointments, he announced the appointment of several advisors over the weekend, including Valerie Jarrett. Hillary is reportedly up for Secretary of State, and Bill is being vetted now. Obama said in his interview that he plans to announce more cabinet posts “soon.”

    Also, there’s more information on his positions and the transition team at change(dot)gov.

    @Sydney

    Don’t know if you’re a female or male, but you GO GIRL/BOY!

    This is what I’m talking about!! And this is what I read up on. This is what’s important. We all know that Obama and Michelle are a good-looking couple and all……and that he sets the standards for black men. That’s great.

    But we need to focus on the important issues that will effect each and every one of us. Let’s not forget them just because we have a “black” president in office. Well, not technically, but “electorally”. We have a few more weeks!

    But you seem very in on whats going on so my comment wasnt directed towards you. Aside from the physical, lets dig deeper into Mr. Obama’s plan and know what we are talking about so we can say that we didnt vote for him…just because he was black.

    What if it were 2 black men running for president?

    Ok nice, pic when is he going to get to work. We are headed into a recession and if he implements his tax cuts for the lower class we are headed to a depression. Come On Obama save us. (Can you taste the sarcasm?)

  • BE

    @Raquel – this is true about our peoeple but I honestly think this major event will get out of fashion for most of “us” before his inauguration. I mean it is a time for self reflection and I know it will work for some but others I am not sure.

    What can you do? You can lead horses to water but you can not make them drink..okay this is way too much but it is how I feel about the Obama making a difference. The most I can do is try in my corner of the world – my family

  • Lets Get It – (If Money Is The Root Of All Evil, P*ssy Is The Tree)

    @Raquel26

    I personally will be upset, in voting for Obama, it was honestly the lesser of two evils. I damn sure do not agree with everything he plans to do, but nobody is perfect. Its funny, but your right, a lot of these niccas voted for him because of the color of his skin, and probably don’t know half of what he plans to do. I do think he was the better option for this country, however its going to take him 2 terms to get shyt right again in this country after all it took bush 8 to fuk it up. He is coming into office in a real bad spot and will need all our prayers and support.

    During the 60 Minutes interview, Michelle mentioned the hole in the floor of his car, and he said that’s how he knew she loved him because she wanted to marry him in spite of that. I think they also struggled with debt for years, so he was by no means wealthy. But I think it’s the core qualities he exhibited that made him attractive — and I think these qualities — the intangibles — are what set a man apart.

    @BE

    I also like the commentaries on CNN(dot)com, particularly Donna Brazile’s and Roland Martin’s.

  • Raquel26

    1) @BE…I like the acronym! Definitely that’s what it is!! And I also agree about “your corner of the world”. My family and friends is who I try and talk to the most, though, all of them know what;s going on.

    I have a blackberry as well and I have CNN as one of the icons to just go in whenever I want to get updates. I wish I could get BBC World News!! Thats what i mostly watch at home. I personally think that its better than the news we get now.

    Nope. Havent been on the Obama’s site yet, but now that you mentioned it, I will.

    DANG!! Where are the intelligent sistas where I’m at???? lol It would be cool to have friends that I can talk to about this stuff! I’m also a political junkie. I got into politics back in ’88 when Micheal Dukakis (sp) was running for president. And I was only like 9 or 10! :)

    But from what I see, Obama isnt the man to stand around. He’s making moves, definitely. Similiar to David Patterson (governer of NY)…as soon as he got to sit in his chair he was signing (for) and passing laws. Making moves. I like that because being a person of color we always have to work 10x harded to prive ourselves when they can work 5x less and still get that raise!

    But big ups to you and all the other black females who got their minds right AND still look good!! :)

    @Txhustla15

    I agree that the auto industry is a controversial slippery slope. I see the issue from both sides — companies can continue to operate during bankruptcy reorganization, but there’s still a chance many jobs will be lost and with the economy the way it is, those displaced workers — many of whom have families — could suffer immensely. I do think that any aid that Ford, GM, and Chrysler receive should be contingent upon changes that will make them more competitive with overseas manufacturers and more fiscally sound.

  • Raquel26

    @ Let’s get it…..agree with you there too. Way better options for the country, and I dont agree (either) with some of his policies and what he plans to do, but hey, I think people got tired of those damn republicans in office for the last 8 years. We wanted a fresh face and we got it.

    Hopefully he and his administration that he chooses can dig us up out the hole; at least where we can see above hole we crawled out of.

  • Sydney

    @Raquel26

    Have you been on any of the political blogs?

    The BBC is good — You’re right about the quality of overseas coverage. They covered the race as well, if not better, than the U.S. press. The global reaction to Obama is amazing. I read that the leaders in the G-20 meeting in D.C. over the weekend wanted to meet Obama.

    Yeah, from what I’ve seen and read, Obama very much is on top of putting together a team that can tackle the crisis head-on, but, make no mistake, it’s going to be a really rough four years. This is a lot for anyone to take on at once.

  • BE

    @Raquel – there are several smart sisters on this site you will see them including BLAQ who was the originator of that acronym. You will see…in fact I think there are quite a few of them now that I am thinking…

  • BE

    @Sydney – yeah I like the BBC too, I think I started reading it after you posted about it…okay goodnight ladies I have to leave now and the convo is getting good!
