I also live in the D.C. area and have seen a number of interracial couples. I’ve noted an increase of white men with black women, and more often than not, it’s clear the sisters have a lot going for them.

I feel everyone’s points of view, but I don’t blame black men or women for our flaky relationships with each other. I blame black men AND women. The sooner we all step up and accept our own individual faults toward each other, the easier it would be for us to confront our problems as a couple or a people or whatever. Yeah, men are trifling, shifty, disrespectful, people to black women, but… Black women put that label on black men because the average black woman ONLY DATES BLACK MEN. If you have nothing to compare it to, then of course they will be trifling, shifty, disrespectful people. In my opinion, ALL men are trifling. In my opinion, ALL women do trifling ***** too. We as black people in general find it so easy and simple to victimize ourselves. It’s easy for us to pull the race card where we feel it’s necessary, and I think it’s easy for us to pull the gender card when we feel it’s necessary. It’s easy for a black man to say the black woman is his downfall, and usually people will sympathize with that because stereotypically, a black woman has been labeled as angry and all sorts of other *****. Just like it’s easy for a black woman to blame ***** on a black man and gain sympathy because again, stereotypically black men have been labeled as… Well *****, black men have been labeled as damn near everything. It’s all about having the ***** to confront and face our individual faults, before we start criticizing others’. Black women are the most naturally beautiful women on this earth, and I’m damn proud to be one, but some of us could carry ourselves a bit better. Some black women do have some issues, and the entire race seems to get the blame for it. The same goes for black men. Black MEN are so precious, but don’t realize that they stand for something much stronger than the images they portray. Though there are many black men that live up to those terms and stereotypes, there are also many who do not. If you are honest with yourself you must be aware of that. If you’re as educated as you’ve stated previously, and that you have occasionally shown signs of, you should have the ability to articulate your message without all the superlatives.

I see that someone said they lived in the DC area and saw an increase in the amount of white men and black women relationships. 3 years ago I taught a human relations course and one of my students (a black female) was from Maryland and she said that she and all her friends aspired to marry rich white men. They went to all their parties and joined all the clubs where they could be found.
Now this was 3 years ago, so black men and black women are looking to diversify. Why does that make a person bad, if it works for them then do it..it does not mean that an entire group of people are bad (black men) it just mean they had a preference. actually Armenian’s are considered Indo-Europeans because they are typically not Caucasian like say British, French, and so on. They tend to favor a more Arab appearance although many are russian. But Armenian is cl*****ified as it’s own race. The only reason I know or care is because I am fascinated with archeology and the history of the world.

For every 1 black woman like her that expresses her disappointment in black men, I can find 10 black men who react the same way, or worse, when it comes to expressing their views of black women. Her views actually bring balance into the one favored notion and biased arguments that tend to overlook and turn a blind eye to the consistent *****-ups of black men and in the same tone, highlight the flaws of black women.

No hard feelings. You can admit your mistakes and that takes a real grown up attitude to be able to project that. I think the first step to repairing faulty lines of communication is recognizing our own errors and internalizing the role we all play in society as part of the problem. Its the only way to begin to understand others of different cultures. You may date black men, but I have no problem with that or other IR, as I never really have. That does not affect me.
