Bobby, Bobby, Bobby…
Bobby Brown claimed he was homeless while still paying for Whitney Houston’s associated costs for drug rehab, according to divorce documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com.
Houston ,48, died February 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel; the official cause of death has not been released pending toxicology results.
During their contentious divorce proceedings, Brown submitted a sworn declaration in his attempt to get child support from Whitney. He said that footing the costs for her rehab was placing enormous financial pressure on him.
“Whitney took Bobbi Kris without my prior knowledge or consent, and moved to Orange County, California, where Whitney received treatment for her drug addiction….Although I was having severe financial problems, I did all I could to see my daughter. I came to California to be near Bobbi Kris. I also paid approximately $10,000 for Whitney and Bobbi Kris to live in a nice hotel while Whitney was going through rehab. At the same time, I basically lived out of my car,” Brown states in the court docs.
Interestingly, in Houston’s declaration, she says that “in November 2006, I had oral surgery and I stayed at a clinic afterwards.” There is no reference to rehab or drug addiction in Whitney’s statement.
The I Will Always Love You singer argued she believed that “Bobby is trying to get child or spousal support from me, something he has done for some time now, along with his request for spousal support….Bobby is fully capable of working and earning substantial sums of money if he would control his personal behavior. It is his personal conduct that keeps him from earning substantial amounts of money.”
