Ben did the right thing. It would not have been nearly as funny had Fluff Diddy taken the role. Had the role been designed for a black man to play a white man, Fluff Diddy still would not have qualified. I don’t think he deserves to jump over other highly qualified actors to get those roles.

That movie was cast perfectly. Robert Downy Jr. played that role dead on. Fluff should not have been trying to bribe his way into the industry in the first place.

You obviously don’t know or understand what “Black Face” was and represented.

“Black Face” was used mockingly, as an exaggeration of racial stereotypes and reinforced those racist stereotypes by homogenizing the “Black Image”.

Black performers of the time also performed in “Black Face”?. Ironically enough to cover up the fact that they were black, so that they could work.

Robert Downey Jrs handling of the role in the movie is not what should be considered “Black Face”. Not even close. If it was believe me you would have never heard the end of it. Ever heard of Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson?, lol.

Diddy is a brilliant actor, for any of you who have never seen him act I suggest you see the movie “Made”

To the point: The genius part of the role was that it was a white man who played a white man who got surgery to play a black man…it just wasnt a black role.

I don’t see why he didn’t understand that.

please people it is a comedic part about an actor that gets so engrossed in his role that he loses himself. If you guys want to get indignet about the why AA are depicted in hollywood I could find many more movies, actors and actress, rappers, videos, songs , and models that would make our ancestors role over in their graves. Sometimes I wonder how bright this race is. The whole purpose of Robert Downey Jr’s character was that he was a white Australian actor portraying a Black man, and let the role take him over in real life. Now how the hell would it have been funny if the character was Black. Has anyone ever noticed that in EVERY Ben Stiller movie there is there the scene where he blows up at the person of color for comic effect? Every movie of his for the past several years usually someone hispanic but often someone black his charactr goes postal. The “put upon white guy puts brown guy in his place” has become a staple in Ben Stillers movies. Someone should tell this racist asshole that as a jewish guy in his own way he is as brown as the hispanic and black men he loves to take down a peg in his films. BOYCOTT THIS RACIST ASSHOLE!! I heard tropic thunder was funny but I stopped watching his movies after I saw him lose it in “The Heartbreak Kid” on a mexican mariatchi band and realized he does this in EVERY movie

Puffy you are an idiot. The joke was the white method actor playing the black soldier not a non acting egotist playing a black soldier. Just because you gave Ben Stiller a cameo in your $17.00 video does not entitle you to have a part in 90 million dollar film.
