Where’s the beef?

While promoting his second album Strange Clouds, Atlanta rapper/producer B.O.B got kushed up and did some chitchattin’ with GQ about transcending his beef with Odd Future’s Tyler The Creator. Check it out:

GQ: Tyler, the Creator, dissed you on his track “Yonkers,” then you fired back on “No Future.” So what do you really think of Odd Future?

B.o.B: I feel like their music speaks to the generation I was a part of when I was in middle school—when I was really angry. Tyler probably didn’t know who I was before [B.o.B’s hit single] “Airplanes.” He just heard me on the radio rapping about whatever the f**k I was rapping about and was like, “Who the f**k is this guy?” And it ended up in his lyrics. I didn’t think it was gonna escalate. The whole beef thing is kinda lame. It’s like, “F**k this, f**k that!” I’m not gonna walk around the earth mad at some random person. It’s pointless.

GQ: You called Tyler a dolphin on “No Future.” Explain.

B.o.B: I have the opportunity to voice my opinion freely without the consequences you may face in another country, like getting burned at the stake. We definitely privileged over here. You have sexual freedom, you have freedom of speech—depending on what the situation is.

Interesting… We’ve always liked this B.O.B. character. Who’d you rather listen to, him or Odd Future?
