This is guaranteed to be one helluva interview!
Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law and manager says that while the signs were all there that the singer could meet an untimely end, she thought in recent months that Houston was turning her life around.
“The handwriting was kind of on the wall. I would be kidding myself to say otherwise,” Houston tells Oprah in an interview to air Sunday night on the special “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” In the special, Oprah also interviews Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and her brother, Gary Houston.
While Oprah specifically asked Patricia Houston if she feared her sister-in-law dying because of drug use, Houston responded, “If things hadn’t changed. But things were changing, things were really changing with her — very much so. It wasn’t about substance abuse relative to the latter days. I was afraid for other things … [her] lifestyle.”
When asked to explain what she meant, Houston elaborated, “I saw her chasing a dream — looking for love in all the wrong places.”
Remember to tune in to OWN Network tomorrow evening at 9pm. God knows Oprah needs the ratings!
