This is good news:
President Obama’s daughter Malia is just fine even though she was in Mexico on Tuesday when a 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit. “In light of today’s earthquake, we can confirm that Malia Obama is safe and was never in danger,” the First Lady’s communications director Kristina Schake wrote in a statement Tuesday.
The quake, which initially hit Oaxaca in southwestern Mexico, sent aftershocks through Mexico City. Malia, 13, is on vacation in Oaxaca as part of a school-sponsored service project, reports the Associated Press.
