Obama Picks ‘Shady Hillary’ as Secretary of State
Posted by Bossip Staff
We thought your boy Barack could do no wrong but…
President-elect Obama plans to name Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as his secretary of State shortly after Thanksgiving, two senior Obama aides said.
The officials said they expect her to accept. Clinton aides had no comment.
The choice unites the two rivals in the most protracted presidential primary in American history, giving Obama the “Team of Rivals” Cabinet he had promised. Former President Bill Clinton authorized unprecedented disclosures about his finances to Obama’s vetting team, and transition lawyers are satisfied, officials said.
We are starting to feel all these Clinton-related cabinet picks are a little suspect coming from a CHANGE ticket. You already have the keys to the White House, shake some sh*t up, there are qualified people outside of the shady Clinton Democratic establishment. Those Clintons will probably sell you out for a half of piece of silver. SMH.

This should be interesting
I think its a good idea. The Clintons have a good reputation with foreign leaders and good experience. Remember the Clinton years were good years for the country.
dos….
and Bossip, please don’t tell that man how to run HIS office. Let that man do what he do, he knows what needs to be accomplished….
I think that it’s a good move… she has a lot of experience and she’s loved around the world!!!

Ha Ha Ha. I thought he was your boy Bossip. Now, you are turning on him! I new it was just a matter of time. Lol
You started my day off right with Carmelo but this bullshyt just put a dent in my tgif. Glad to see Bossip knows whats up with them grimey gangsta clintons though….

exactly, Bush got the world to hate the U.S of A… and Obama is going to change that!! starting with picking her as secretary of state..
when Clinton was in office americans were making an average of about $9000 more per year!!! Wow
Let him do what he do! He is uber intelligent. And not perfect. So let him get his wet before the rest of the haters step up front.
and bot to mention, Hilary is a great advocate for women!!! she has always fought for our rights… that’s why some of the men out there think that she’s a *****…. oh well, can’t win them all…
That must of been a freudian slip. Love Michelle too
Morning Folks. Bossip y’all are putting the cart before the horse: Obama’s ‘platform of change’ meant policies, the economy, the war, etc.He has to surround himself with experiences people whith proven track records: otherwise all the folks who claimed he didn’t have enough experience himself will panic. Obama can’t surround himself with freshmen in the political arena. We’ll see ‘change’ soon enough.
Ooops I meant ‘experienceD people’. Let me speak intelligently this morning. TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almost any experienced Democrat who is 40+ years old will have worked somehow in the Clinton administration. That doesn’t mean he/she is a Clinton-ite.
ty-po
I mean, not to mention
Keep your enemies close …cmon man thought you mother*****ers had the script
Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer!
@Somehouston Great minds think alike!
I think its a good thing
obama know excatly what he is doing
he rather have her has his secretary of State
than have her in the senate, he didnt pick her has his vice president cuz he would have lost the election, simple fact that her husband was a president and would have interfer with her status
she is the best person for the job, she is expereince and highly intelegent woman, i dont blame obama for his choices for his cabinet , because these ppl that he is chosing are experience ppl….you can just bring change and bring a bunch of new ppl who dosent know left from right , you have to use ppl that knows what to do @2am in the morning…
i think his cabin will great – he is a smart – choosing a bunch of rivals for his cabin – should be very interesting to see the out come …anyway
Obama definately knows what he’s doing. Probably the best decision he could’ve made to ask her. I just can’t wait for January!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Today Show implied that Hillary Clinton is wavering on her decision to leave the Senate so, I’ll wait for official news from a slightly more reliable source thank you.
He can still be a “change” president. But he needs to staff to bring those ideas to reality. Bossip…worry about “swirls” and “stans” and “makin it rain”. Don’t worry about things you don’t understand.

HILARY WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE,BOSSIP YOUR TITLE SHADY HILARY IS JUST DOWN RIGHT IGNORANT, OBAMA KNOWS WHAT HES DOING.
TO THE WRITERS AT BOSSIP
Months ago when Obama picked Biden, I came on this website and said that Obama really wasn’t about change. If he was, I felt that there were other qualified people out there that could be his vice president, he could have picked them and he would still have won.
Bossip, now I have to give you the side-eye. I voted for him, but I know that this country won’t see much change. This is basically Clinton’s cabinet, with a few other old timers in there.
Talk to me in four years.
I don’t think that the Clinton’s are the enemy… wea are experiencing the worst economic crisis of this country in a long time!! and it makes sense to hire someone who: when president, provided one of the best ecomonomic times for the country… it makes sense!!
AUNTIE VIV
@jrod
oh sh*t, that was hilarious!!!
wish entertainment bloggers would stop trying to weigh in on politics. Obama selecting Clinton is not surprising nor is it a poor choice. As for selling people out; all of these people INCLUDING Barack Obama are career politicians. of course they’re going to be slippery.
I think it is a smart move. In the end, Hillary pulled herself together, accepted the loss and fought for Barack by campaigning to her voters to vote for him. I don’t think it is an amateur move and I believe he consulted with the best of the best before making his final decision. Come on Bossip, build the man up. He is surrounded by enough negativity already.
New and unheard of and untested dont equal betta Bossip. Example Sarah Palin.
Hey Aunt Viv-thanks for the kudos! As you said, we’ll see what the ‘real’ media outlets have to say
typo again, I meant WE
it’s too cold here, I cant feel my damn fingers…lol
Bossip writers. You are very ignorant people and this is my last time on this site. You are careless and don’t have an ounce of political intelligence. People, please stop promoting this type of nonsense.
Keep your friends close, your enemies closer… Actually, I think it is a stunningly beautiful political move. Obama can give Hillary, what Bill couldn’t: the international spotlight. This is Hillary’s chance to make something of it or to screw it up. We are about to find out what she is really made of. We know that she is smart, intelligent, a team player and a hard worker. For a few minutes back during the primaries, we even saw her facade crack enough to reveal a real person underneath. I believe that her hunger for validity is so strong that she will behave so as to prove to the world that she really was a contender.
It’s not Hillary we need to be worried about, it’s Bill. Consider this: Bill’s shady dealings could block her from the job and then Obama could say, “Oh well, I tried.” Hee, hee. Brilliant.
I have no doubt in Obama’s judgement
you should give him more support because Obama is going to do an incredible job very outstanding JOB in the white house
i believe in him 100% without any shadow of a doubt to be found in me at all for him
you guys should resemble that notion

WHAT ABOUT HILLARY DO YOU KNOW THAT GOES AGAINST OBAMA’S STAND FOR CHANGE? YOU IGNORANT *****’S.
if you think that this is a good idea, you are stupid! the clintons will stab obama in the back. this guy is silly as hell. also, i’m starting to believe that he’s a puppet for the democratic establishment. four years of a damn soap opera. dang, people voted for obama to get rid of the clintons. now, he does this.
Bossip should refrain from commenting on ***** their small minds cannot comprehend!!! He is surrounding himself with quality people, these quality democrats may or may not be *****ociated with the Clinton Admin, but it makes them no less worthy or qualified!!

I feel the same Bossip. I said this in earlier posts… I think Hillary might’ve made a deal where she will endorse him as long as she gets a spot….
I guess Obama’s sharing with his” enmemies” a little too much

But.. perhaps she will do a good job, and this will be all for nothing…. but he’s gotta start hiring some minorities up in there for real.. and some dark-skinned ones for pete’s sake….. LOL

Hey,
At least Bossip has the guts to call something wrong no matter who does it, black or white, liberal or conservative. The hiring of Hillary is a pure political move, good for Obama’s re-election, bad for the country. Obama is a politician, though a good one, but still a politician – got to play the game.

I’m confused… What’s so bad about the Clinton’s now? I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll, but people had jobs and healthcare when Clinton was in office. Unless I missed something…
In any case, Obama knows what he’s doing. He’s got some really good people in his cabinet. Let’s see what the man is going to do first, before we start talking about ‘bad moves’ before he’s even inaugurated.
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
Whew Nina This forum needed you, there was no objectiveness going on…let em know…
LOL@KILO
YOU ARE OFF THA CHAIN
As much as I was rooting for Obama, I like Hilary. My only concern would be her need to get her way…looking out for her own future.
Um… what?
*shakes head in disapproval*
Morning Peeps…again. TGIF!! Obama’s going to change things alright: just give him time…we can only go UP since Bush has everything else down in the gutter. Ugh!!
Bossip, You sound really ignorant. Hillary Clinton will be an outstanding Secretary of State. Barack Obama is going to be an excellent President. Stick to your forte Bossip, showing secret lives of celebrities. The Clinton years were the best times for this country in recent memory.
Hi sxyQB!
HEY AUNTIE!! HOW IS EVERYTHING GOING FOR YA THIS COLD FRIDAY MORNING?
People should really research, there were alot more cons vs. pros *****ociated with the Clintions being in office. Everything was NOT gravy.
The way Bush ran the country was so bad, it couldnt help but make the Clinton administraion look good. Look again at the clintion admin for what it is, without comparing it to the bush admin.
Every move Obama has made as far as who he has surrounded himself with has been to appease the zionists. This move should not have surprised anyone. So now Hilary will be in charge of foreign relations….is that the change you were looking for? First Black president…….historical moment….we shall overcome……but when the dust clears and the novelty wears off,Obama is still one of “them”. Think otherwise and you are naive.
Well well now… looks like the roosters are coming home to roost…and it so appears like “the checks stops coming in” for Bossip. No more Obama payments, because during the primaries, everything Obama did was so cool and so great – he couldn’t do no wrong. When someone said anything negative and not necessarily negative just there preference for Hillary…they got mowed down like a lawn mower. WOW Bossip! Not only that and even now, anything Barack does is always so cool. The Obamanots are now loving Hillary and giving props, but when during the primaries, she was evil and much much more. What a bunch of nitwits!
What’s up ladies and gents of Bossip
It’s Friday family!
just as long as barack gonna be calling all the shots,,im good!
Lions and tigers and ZIONISTS! Oh my!
obama is going to make change
not because the ppl who might be in his cabin
appears to be the something from the clinton’s era
but during the clinton’s era , i am quite sure the country was much better than it is right now…
change will come, he have a diverse set of ppl in his cabin, even though some of them might remind you of the clinton’s era , but Obama is a thinker, and he have his reason for choosing the ppl he did.
Obama will be a different kind of president, i think he will be able to bring ppl together, and change some ppl way of thinking, including those ppl that he will choose for his cabin …..hillary will be great, secretaty of state ….Bossip let see what happen maybe 6months of so after he takes office before making these negative comments.
Obama is a smart man. Hiliary (I mispelled her name on purpose), as Secretary of State will be out of the country most of the time and out of President Obama’s way!!!!!!!
woww.
let’s watch the world fall apart.
lol
“Lions and tigers and ZIONISTS! Oh my!”
@ YoYo
And sheep.
say check this blog out. iminthatthang.blogspot.com
Hey, here’s an idea:
Why not wait until the man gets sworn in before you start criticizing him on a job he hasn’t even *****ING STARTED!
First of all, although they had a bitter rivalry during the primaries, President-Elect Obama and Sen. Clinton actually have a great deal in common.
Second, Sen. Clinton is a polished career politician and a hardcore Democrat. She might not like Obama, but she’ll ride for the team.
Third, her presence will bring in all those folks who may have felt alienated by her not winning the primary and not getting picked for VP further consolidating a resurgent Democratic party.
Lastly, everybody shut the ***** up. Barack Obama ran a campaign so clean, even his worst adversaries had to bow down and respect him. Can we let the brother live? He is smart and competent and handled his business with the most racist, hateful attacks against him for almost two years, now all of a sudden we think he’s gonna get stuck on stupid? Down to the woman who shares his bed and raises his kids, President Obama (damm it feels good to say that!) has surrounded himself with the best of the best. We trusted him this far, let’s not abandon him now when needs us most.
PS: Bossip, whomever y’all are, should be most ashamed. You love bragging that y’all were the ONLY ones riding for Obama from jump, but ***** up when he makes a choice y’all don’t like? With fairweather friends like y’all, who needs enemies?
When you say you down with someone, STAY down with that mother*****er.
So the Clinton weren’t the biggest drug dealers in Arkansas when he was Governor?… but let me quit cause *****ody knows anything about Clinton other than he moved to Harlem and pretends to like Black People. This is a very bad move…thinking must still be illegal.
Obama is about bringing people together and that is a Change in itself. Hillary is a strong knowledgeable politician and she will be a great secretary of state. Obama understands that there were a lot of supporters for Hillary; this will appease them as well as its a good choice overall.
Despite all the leaks and hand-wrangling in the past several days, I think Hillary is a good, qualified choice for the Secretary of State post, and her reportedly imminent nomination (according to the Wall Street Journal) is also a sign of Obama’s level of self-confidence to include past political opponents in his cabinet.
There has been a lot of talk on the news lately about the parallels between Obama and Lincoln’s cabinet, which also included political nemeses (Obama reportedly read historian Doris Kearns Goodwin’s book, “Team of Rivals.”). Obama’s election occurred in the midst of a burgeoning financial crisis, global instability, and other threats. The effort he has made to compile a group of the smartest, most talented, and able candidates to tackle the domestic and foreign issues shows his commitment, to me, to improving conditions in the nation and abroad. Yes, there is risk involved in some cabinet picks, but, in this time of crisis, the best and brightest are needed — all hands should be on deck.
Bossip,
You should remember “Shady Hillary” campaigned in Chicago to get Barrack elected into the Senate when YOU didn’t even know who he was.
Don’t worry Bossip, I won’t say I told you say…..yet.
I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT…THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF AGENDA AND PLAN…IT WILL WORK OUT
OBAMA IS A VERY INTELLIGENT MAN!! HE KNOWS WHAT HE’S DOING… WAIT AND SEE!!
The clinton administration in the 90s were great, I see no problem whatsoever in this
@ Candy
thank you!!! at least there are still some intelligent people on here… geeeezzzzzzzz

He needs experienced folks to carry out HIS vision. They are not supporting Bill’s agenda anymore, they are supporting Barack’s. Not to mention, I voted for and have no problem Bill Clinton. He did a pretty good job. So what’s the problem here?
@ Sydney
Question. In your eyes, what is the largest factor playing a part in the economic crisis(understatement) of today? I’m curious as to your opinion on this.
And sheep.
@Illuminate
Yes, I can’t forget the sheeple…oops I meant, people!
I would expect this from FAUX NEWS, but from Obama’s own people and supporters!!! come on… let’s wait at least until me makes a mistake before we bite off his head!!
@ stop tripping
Choosing a winning team is indeed change considering what we have been through in the past 8 years. Reading your rhetoric about his choices for his cabinet in an era of change ring familar to all the white Obama haters across the net. The change will come from the way he presides over his team and the decisions he makes in rebranding America on a global level and decisions on war and the economy. His talk of change is not about starting a new democracy by recruiting bloggers, rappers and strippers to the cabinet. His talk of change refers to the direction the country will go in under his administration. Unless you understand the political system and the fact that it is normal to build on the past party adminstration-Clinton being the last and very successful democratic president-you should just report on Jay-Z and Beyonces vacations. Obviously, this is above your head.
Obama aint no fool the man knows what hes doing so Bossip shut up!!
@ Big K
No he has not been sworn in yet. That much is correct. However, his decision making process HAS begun. What makes him beyond reproach?

“Question. In your eyes, what is the largest factor playing a part in the economic crisis(understatement) of today? I’m curious as to your opinion on this.”
I’m no expert on the economy, but, from what I can gather, what seems to be hurting the economy the most is the severe credit crunch — I think for years we were involved in an easy credit-spend all you can market that has created immense debt for a number of Americans, the banks are now cutting back on loans, foreclosures are spiraling out of control, etc. I know there are differing opinions on the role that deregulation played in the chaos on Wall Street. All this makes me very interested in whom Obama will pick as Treasury Secretary, as this will be on one of the key positions under the new administration.
Now, personally, I have questions about how the money will be spent from the $700 billion bailout — Congress is asking the Big Three auto makers for a plan before they receive any sort of bridge loan or other *****istance, but AIG and other firms took money and, to my knowledge, have no public accounting of their plans for the funds. And how much of this huge block of money is actually going to trickle down to debt-strapped consumers?
What are your thoughts?
All of you people that say the Clinton years were the best ARE NOT WELL EDUCATED with all the cuts that went on. Clinton cut more for black people than any other president.
Dont forget about Ron Brown. You also forgot about all those security people that are no longer with us that worked for Clinton.
Do your homework people. Ms Clinto gave a subliminal threat to Obams referibng to what happened to John Kennedy…
Obama is a puppet and he knows it. They Need his black face and name to get back in with the rest of the world because they hate us. You see how *****ody wanted to shake Bush-es hand and he didnt want to shake theirs.
Thats why Obama said that its up to you to change.

Yeah, I agree about over zealous loans but it goes deeper. After the great depression of the 30s an act was p*****ed called the Gl*****-Steagall Act to prevent investment banks from using our savings to hedge their bets (oops, I mean investments) with. The investment banks were found to be the main culprit in the depression era so this act seperated them from commercial banks. Fast forward to 1999 (when Clinton was in office…..CLINTON, not Bush) and that act was repealed, again allowing investment banks to gamble with our savings, 401K plans, etc. How did they gamble with OUR money this time? They wagered that the subprime CDOs you referred to were worth their AAA rating and why not……. they got the excess funds for these doomed loans directly out of OUR pockets…..thanks to Clinton looking out for special interests (bankers). The only difference of the depression of the 30s and the crisis of today is the fact that in todays global market the whole world is effected negatively.
As far as the pending bailout money for the auto industry and the money already given to AIG and other financial entities, well that is just another example of our money being used for big business’s gain. It is the American way Syd. I think things are going to get worse before they get better. Just my opinion.
Realness…
“They look like good frineds to me.”
Your right!! I swear it reminds of a reality show when there are two people left and somebody gotta loose, and *****ody wants to be totally broke. so they decide secretly to split the money whoever wins so they both get paid. You feel me? You think they might be hustling us?
To Bossip Staff – Please blog responsibly in regards to our President-elect. As we all know he’s got a lot of naysayers and doesn’t really need additional criticism from this site. Save your witty, comical and at times judgemental commentary for everyone else but be supportive… consistently supportive, with Obama in this new day. Do you really have the right or knowledge to judge his decisions… not unless you too are a former, Senator/Harvard Grad/Constitutional law professor
Illuminate Truth & Sydney
What’s going on with this global economy, is nothing more than a major correction. Right after 911, I had a discussion with my financial manager who handles my Roth IRA. He informed me at the time when the Dow Jones was hovering around 13 to 14,000, it was nothing more than “SMOKE AND MIRRORS”. What most people didn’t know was those numbers were based on profit projections 5 to 6 years in advanced. What’s going on now, is the chickens has finally come home to roost.
Obama has always surrounded himself with brilliant advisors and I think this no different. Say what you want but Hillary is a damn good politician. Plus, many people were pleased with certain aspects of the Clinton administration.
who say that obama and hiliray are enemies?
i wonder were that came
they have fundamental differences when it comes to certain polices….i dont think that make them enemies….there have to be disagreement among them/they two different individuals
Ever heard the saying “keep your friends close, your enemies closer?”
Obama can make the nominations, but the nominees still have to get through the vetting process. For all we know, he could be “nominating” these individuals fully well knowing they won’t get through the vetting process.
He’s a smart man, let him handle his business.
Also, let us not forget the shape the country was in when the Clintons were running it – recession free, war free with a budget surplus. Picking people who’ve been there and know how to get back there may not be such a bad thing…
@ Marquis de Sade
I agree but what do you think these projections were based on? If I remember correctly production in the nation was down at the same time the DOW as up. Many financial advisers saw the bubble bursting just because of that.
Yes, I am sure it was a part of the deal… But the couple Clinton-Obama won’t last.
@Illuminate
Should we not place some of the blame on the deregulation standards under Bush as well?
@Marquis
Yes, the chickens have come home to roost, and, yes, experts are predicting that conditions will worsen before they improve, possibly in mid- to late-2009, or beyond. We haven’t hit the bottom yet.
I doubt much movement will occur during the lame-duck session, and Bush has pretty much already checked out. I think we’re going to have a miserable holiday season — as far as retail performance is concerned.
As far as Obama is concerned, I believe he’s well aware of the challenges, and as he said on Election Night, the problems we face may not be solved in four years — It took more than four years for us to sink into this mess. As far as his cabinet picks are concerned, he’s ahead of the game — I don’t think Bill announced any appointments until December when he was president-elect.
@ Necy…
i agree. a man of integrity forgives and forgets and reaches out for the experienced and the best in politics, with all hating aside. Shame on the bossip writers for sprewing hate and division. Obama won! she lost. but they those Clintons are good communicators and have a wealth of knowledge in the political arena and world wide. Obama can still evoke change with his new idea and no nonsence way of doing things. Also, she still has to follow the instructions and leadership of the commander in chief, that being Mr. Obama. So with That being said, My motto for the haters is…
“Obama 2009, let’s give it some time”!
I love how all of the sudden Bossip is a political commentator. Obama is not your homeboy or best friend so stop with the nonsense. He’s the President Elect and he has countless advisors that are *****isting him. This is not a one man show…he is going to make some decisions down the line that many won’t agree with but at the end of the day it’s politics.
Thank you @Necy!!!! Git it in President Obama, and don’t stop gittin it it… PEACE BLACK PEOPLE!!!! Today begins with a grin, and prayer to excuse my sins…
Illuminate Truth
It was based on lies and bull*****. After the deregulations, there was no true accountability. Big business was allowed to cook the books with the full knowledge that the S.E.C. would turn a blind eye and would only react when forced to. What’s going on now, is just a combination of greed and stupidity. I would like to think that True Proactive Regulation would hopefully prevent this ***** from happening again, but because of human nature and greed, these things will continue to happen on cyclical basis.
Its too bad The President Elect doesn’t take his political advice from Bossip…just kidding. He didn’t get to where he is by taking advice from *****ing bloggers. Here is some advice for the editors here – don’t worry about politics, because you obviously have no clue about them (you should support Obama and his decision). Choose to take my advice or not, no difference, your *****ty opinions and stupid insights will never make it the eyes of a real decision maker – though plenty of mark ***** *****es might get wind of it.
Obama hasnt said anything. I’ll believe it when O ANNOUNCES it. All this leak stuff is Bullsh*t.
I think this is a good strategic move, the Clintons have many strong connections. Obama knows what he is doing.
The problem with some people is they let emotions get in the middle of business. Forget who likes who what is the best business plan? Move forward, I think Hillary will do a wonderful job!
BTW…Bossip sounds so ignorant saying “We thought your boy Barack could do no wrong but…” He’s not your boy- show some respect. Conyo, he’s the President elect, not your homeboy, chico, *****, or anything else. You shouldn’t put him on this site if you don’t have anything positive to say.
BOSSIP YOU ARE SO IGNORANT IT’S SICKENING!!! DO YOU NOT REMEMBER BEFORE OABMA CAME INTO THE SPOTLIGHT, BILL AND HILLARY WERE ALL WE HAD??? NOW YOU CALL HER SHADY???? STUPIDITY…I GUESS YOU FORGOT HOW THE ECONMOY WAS DOING “GREAT” AND BUSINESSES WERE BOOMING WHEN BILL WAS IN OFFICE TOO???
OBAMA DID NOT FORGET WHO HELPED THIS COUNTRY SURVIVE…APPARENTLY THE IGNORANT *****ES WORKING FOR BOSSIP HAS..
SMDH!
If he can handle the Clintons, I see no problem with it,,She will probably make a great SOS, just watch your back Obama
I’m not 2 thrilled over the likely selection of Hillary as SOS, but I’m confident the President-Elect has his reasons. I just hope he offers Colin Powell a cabinet position 2 help balance it out.
I agree, some of y’all need 2 let the man take over the job first b4 slamming him on his decisions. I have never seen a President-elect in recent memory with so much weight from high expectations in my life!
TGIF
FYI, NY Times columnist Maureen Dowd had some interesting observations on Hillary as Secretary of State in her column, “Team of Frenemies,” this week:
“If Barry chooses Hillary as secretary of state, a woman who clearly intimidated him and taught him to be a better pol in the primaries, it doesn’t signal the return of the Clinton era. It says the opposite: If you have a president who’s willing to open up his universe to other smart, strong people, if you have a big dog who shares his food dish, the Bill Clinton era is truly over.
Appointing a Clinton in the cabinet would be so un-Clintonian.”
@HF
I think I read that Powell said he wasn’t interested in a cabinet position, but I would love to see him in a big post as well, perhaps Secretary of Education since education is one of his interests.
@HF
“I have never seen a President-elect in recent memory with so much weight from high expectations in my life!”
Here, here! *snaps up* It’s not ever December yet. . .Bush is still president.
Snoop bloggy blog…. nice screen name dawg.
Well Remeber The years when Clinton was in office, it was good times, economy was in a very good place, and home onwership was up.. Obama is perfect;) he knows what is needed to pull the country and put it back on top. Look how he ran his campaign, if he runs the country like that it’lll smooth sailing like it was for him Nov. 4th;)) Obama ‘08 ‘12.
Collin Powell doesnt want to do anything. He declined when George Bush wanted him as Vice President , hes declining SOS, what use is he??? What use is a black republican anyway???
@ Sydney
The repeal of the Gl*****-Steagall Act and the introduction of the Financial Modernization Act (I think that is the official name but it is known to opposers as the Citigroup Act) signed in 1999 IS the deregulation. Prior to this being p*****ed by Congress and signed into law by Clinton, commercial banks, investment banks and insurance companies were all their own entities and regulated seperately (i.e. investment banks were regulated by the SEC, insurance companies by state ). After the repeal no one was able to regulate them because financial holding companies could now hold commerical and investment banks as well as insurance companies as subsidiaries therefore allowing them to move money that is regulated unfavorably in one entity (i.e. investment banking money regulated by the SEC) to another one of their holdings (i.e. insurance company that is regulated by state insurance regulators). This opens the doors for “fixing or cooking the books” and there is not one single regulator that controls these exchanges of funds…..just three seperate ones that only oversee their jurisdiction. In summary this means that one financial company falls under the umbrella of three different regulators of which none regulate the transfer of funds from one subsidiary to another…….this equals deregulation.
What laws were p*****ed post 1999 by Bush that could be considered deregulation? Just curious because I don’t know of any. I’m not defending him (by ANY means) but sometimes we are led astray as to the real root of problems. Obama talked about regulation during his campaign but NEVER pinned it on Bush as his doing. He just questioned his lack of action on it. I’m waiting to see what Obama does with it and will he get the congressional support he needs.
Sybil Blaize,
That was when BILL was in office. Not his wife!
Lets get that straight.
Second, I hope this is a good decision because I still haven’t forgot how she did him in the campaign..
Oh well I hope this is a good choice in the long run. We’ll see.
SHE’S A SHADY CHARACTER……BUT A GOOD LOOK THO!!
What up Illuminate, Sydney, Purple, Nina, Be, and errbody.. I aint making no noise today…just thought I’d say what up!…
Good for him! He is a smart man who understands it not about who likes who, but running this country. Its not personally Bossip. The man has a country to run not a popularity contest!!!
@Illuminate
I haven’t heard about new laws that were p*****ed by Bush, rather his and other Republicans unwillingness to impose more stringent regulations.
“I have never seen a President-elect in recent memory with so much weight from high expectations in my life!”
@ HF
But if people don’t hold congress to the same standards and expectations then it doesn’t mean anything. There is only one thing a sitting president can do without congressional approval and that is grant clemency. Everything else p*****es through congress so to look at Obama as some sort of saviour is ridiculous when it is in fact congress that will carry most of the weight. If bills go back and forth between the house and senate (as usual) with no real progress Obama will be looked at as the culprit. Most people don’t know who their state reps are OR their positions but THEY are the ones writing and p*****ing laws (or NOT writing laws) that have the negative impact on each and every one of us.
@ Redd
Peace Brah. How you be?
I’m surprised she took the gig.
@ Redd
Is that your seed I’m looking at in your gravitar?
Hi, Redd. Is that your child in your gravie? Cute
@Sydney and Illuminate
Yeah thats my boo boo…
Totally off topic, but I don’t think Bossip has posted about it yet — did anyone see the video of Sarah Palin doing an interview in Alaska while turkeys are being slaughtered in the background? This woman is so clueless. . .
@ Redd
That’s whats up. Now I see your motivation.
How old is he, Redd?
@ Syd
Yeah, she’s clueless but I fully expect to see her in 2012. Anyway, she’s good for entertainment purposes…..always provides for a good laugh.
@Illuminate
You got that right, she is the heiress to the throne…
Hey Hey Redd same here, just had to get one or two lines in…
@Illuminate
I think she’s distasteful. That video was something else. The guy doing the slaughtering was grinning in the background like a Cheshire cat.
Hi Pupple
@Syd
She’s 18 months….
@Purpple
Hey..
if she was in the senate, she could say no to his proposals. Nice move, Mr. President
I’m sorry, Redd — I thought she was a girl, but I couldn’t see her hair. She’s adorable.
Whats up Redd, how you doing babe… dammit I must be looking at your old gravatar, I dont see a baby…
You know you wanna make a little noise, you gotta be a little tempted to throw out dumb ***** reading some of this bull*****..lol
I find it a little disturbing that Obama is supposed to be all about “Change” but he fills his cabinet and advisors with old-school, traditionally corrupt politicians that contributed to the mess we’re in now. For example, the mortgage crisis had its roots in the CLINTON administration when democrats were pressuring lenders to dramatically loosen up lending standards so more people could have the “American Dream”. Banks that did comply got tax breaks and perks (that Obama supported back then as well). Now we see where people buying homes they couldn’t afford has gotten us.
I think this upcoming administration will be POLITICS AS USUAL… SMH.
@Sydney
Thats cool…Yeah I dont know what going on with the hair… she dont have much…lol
I feel you Negrita Tan Rica, Bossip is forever saying the dumbest of the stupidest of things… Peace Black People!!!!!!
Hahahahahaha! YOU JUST NOW FIGURING THIS OUT BOSSIP? You all got played!! Obama is Clinton’s puppet!
Hey Syd I see you in here working it out
*jus chillin waitin for the weekend*
@Nina
Yeah I’m kinda biting my tounge right now..lol..I got some heavy work today thats all…Hope everything is well with you..
@Redd
She doesn’t have a ‘fro yet? I had a big one with barrettes.
@ Redd
LOL. I know thats right. Raising a girl is a whole different ballgame Brah. Believe that. One bat of the eyes and you gonna be done. You say she’s gonna inherit the throne? Little do you know she’s already comfortably sitting there. My experience anyway.
@ Syd
She’s way beyond distastful and crosses the line into just plain stupidity. She kind of reminds me of a female Bush……a Bushette.
@Syd
lol..She got little curley afro, but her mom can barely cornrow it…I guess its in the genes because her mom didnt start growing hair until she was almost 2 years old….So I guess I would start to worry when she has p*****ed 2 and havent grown anything…lol

@Redd
Little girls love their daddies. Sugar and spice and everything nice.
I am not on the “inside” of what goes on in politics, I only know what I read about in the news and what my common sense tells me so I am going to hold off on making a judgement.
I believe Barack Obama is intelligent enough to know what he is doing. If it is true he picks Hillary as Sec. of State then I will *****ume he made the best choice.
@ Sydney
Hello, Sydney how r u? Colin Powell as Secretary of Education would be a good fit 4 him. I just read where the Cal States r expected 2 cut 10,000 new freshman aplicants.

Very true, fam. You r talking about the entire system of checks and balances between the executive and legislative branches, and u r TOTALLY correct… people also need 2 hold congresspeople’s feet 2 the fire as well. This will b a JOINT effort, so 2 hang it all on Obama is unrealistic.
There is no way I would bring a bunch of new booties in the White House with all of the problems the country is facing. That would be ridiculous. Clinton is the only Democratic president we’ve had in nearly 30 years. Where are these qualified and experienced candidates gonna come from? The governor of vermont or some small town mayor. See how well that worked for McCain. The Clinton administration was extremely successful, Obama is choosing people who know how to get ***** done. You can bring in some idealistic bright eyed virgin, and Washington is gonna ***** them and p***** them around like a $2 w*****. Washington is gangsters paradise you better come in with some muscle.
On a side note, remember when Hillary offered Obama the vice presidency and Barack laughed at her, then he p*****ed her over for VP, but to show he’s a team player he threw her a bone. Who’s the mack?
Peolpe need to stop being worried about Pres Obamas moves. He’s obviously gonna try very, very, hard to do what’s best for this country. IT’S BUSH ya’ll *****es need to be worried about. Did you hear that they’re expecting between 3 and 5 million people at the inauguration? It’s going to be a mad house in D.C.
@mean, I know you won’t understand this but, OBAMA is too intelligent to be anyones puppet! Instead of trying to give WORTHY people unintelligent characteristics, try doing something to help better the country. It will take everyones help! You have good people in office now.
@ mrz. jeezy
Uncle Tom ***** *****s are the first to claim credit for someone else’s actions and also the first to scrutinize a black man in power. If Hillary was the president this wouldn’t even be an issue. Bossip does not have an original thought the whole story and commentary is copied from an article on Google.
Hillary’s broke why bring bills around D.C. We trying to come up outta the recession/depression/deflation. what in the world he getting broke ol Hil-liar. He got wealth with Oprah, Soros, and that Jew, so Hillary is the balance i guess.

Yes, I heard the hotels r BOOKED up!!!!! U can’t even reserve a roach motel on the outskirts of town. I wish I could b there, but as long as CNN has a camera there, I guess I will b. LOL!
R u going 2 the inauguration?
@imignorantdammit, ***** please! The economy has never been this *****ed up in a very long time! I bet if that was your ***** stuck in Iraq, not only fighting for bush but trying to get back home, your whole aspect on this ***** would be totally different! RIGHT IN FRONT YOUR eyes, didn’t Bushs brother just botch the votes to get Bush back in office! 911 was no accident. That’s why Bush sat his ***** in the chair looking dumb. Go to truth finders.com. Stop talking ***** about Obama. Your like a baby, that man is not going to fix all your problems, get up, get out and help. just sitting on your ***** being ignant, not even ignorant.
Bossip, your statement just emphasizes why you should stick to gossip and not politics. Over the last 5 presidents 2 have been Democrats…Carter and Clinton. So over the past decade and more you have only a certain amount of democrats who have experience in the white house and most of those people where learning while during the Clinton administration. But just because they were *****ociated with the Clinton administration doesnt mean they are Clinton-ities! Hilary withstanding, of course!
You need people who know how things run as far as Attorney General, Sec. of State, etc. But lets not forget that people from his campaign are now within his cabinet like David Axlerod, for example.
I understand Hilary is a big name but that doesnt make her the whole cabinet, plus with her excepting guess what she cant do in 4 years…run for president! Plus she’s a good candiate for the job, lets not forget that as well. Everyone he’s picked has knowledge and experience and are serious about getting this country back on track. Get off the “team of rivals” plot line. Its just a story based plot line for which to write stories about and base you news cast around.
That’s truthfigters.com
@HF
All the Congressional offices are receiving a very limited number of tickets, so I’m not sure if I can get my hands on any. At the least, I’m going to the parade. I have family coming into town, so it should be nice.
Yeah, I read that all the hotels are booked and there are attempts to scalp tickets online, etc. Should be interesting!
And, yes, you can catch the whole thing on CNN/C-SPAN, lol.
Why are folks up in here calling people “*****es” just because they disagree?
@Sawyer.
Bossip is right. The Clintons are going to end up in the midst of some scandal and constantly try to hog the limelight.
Think about it…the Clintons are already leaking info the Obama team doesn’t want in the media.
If her nomination goes thru……let the infighting begin. Which his administration does not need in harsh economic times.
The problem with politics/society is that people are so partisan – either you believe as I do or I have no need for you – which prevents the *****embly of unique mindsets/ideas. We are in our current state of affairs for this very thinking. Bush / Clintons have a tendancy of isolating / punishing people who differ in their thinking.
It is refreshing to have a president who understands that in order to advance the US on a global stage he will need to have diversity in thinking / coupled with a vast array of experience. What better way to ‘control’ the Clinton than to put them under your thumb? If they go rogue, they harm themselves more then they will Obama who will be seen as having reached out to them for their redemption.
Fortunately, most races can reconcile their differences for the greater good of all, yet Blacks are still attempting to achieve this feat. Barack understands that old adage – Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer and its this advanced thinking that is going to put us all back on the road of economical prosperity and peace.
For those who don’t believe he is adapting change by hiring many who served in the Clinton administration – please advise as to where the experience is to come from if in the last 40 years the only democratic presidents have been Carter (4 yrs) and Clinton (8). Change does not come from changing people but policies. Most of us have changed jobs (hired most likely for our expertise) and yet we effected change by adhering to the goals/objectives of the new boss.
Change ‘my friends’ is in ones policies, procedures, goals, objectives – not people. Times are too difficult for on-the-job-training. They need to hit the ground 1-21-09 – Fired Up & Ready To Go!
We will see.
@HF
Speaking of the inauguration, the Wall Street Journal has a story today on big party plans. Spike Lee, Oprah, and Hill Harper will be in town, among other celebrities:
“Many of Mr. Obama’s supporters in Hollywood kept a low profile during the campaign, in part because of efforts by Sen. John McCain to cast his opponent as a celebrity. The inauguration offers a chance for celebrities to come out of the shadows. Oprah Winfrey, for example, plans to be on hand, and so does the singer India.Arie. Invitations go out in December for a party being hosted by real-estate mogul and Obama insider R. Donahue Peebles, his wife Katrina and an evolving list of celebrity co-hosts, including Star Jones and Chris Tucker, at the posh Georgetown Club. The invitation-only event for a few hundred guests will kick off at midnight after official festivities on Jan. 20; it runs til 4 a.m. and breakfast dishes will be served.
At the fifth Bytes and Books Inaugural Ball, the National Coalition for Technology In Education and Training plans to honor George Lucas and Sen. Ted Kennedy at its $2,500-per-couple event (for the lowest-tiered sponsorship). Sen. Kennedy underwent surgery for a brain tumor this year.”

Wouldn’t u like 2 get a ticket 2 THAT party?
And gosh-darn it, y won’t Sarah Palin just FADE already? Is it just me or does she seem 2 b doing more interviews now than when she was the GOP veep candidate?
I think its a good idea

I can’t there are so many, dumb, gullible Black people out there. This is how we got enslaved and stay at the bottom.
Think critically people before your Black ***** winds up in chains again. Barack can make mistakes and you can criticize his policies or his presidency.
Your christian negroes want to annoint him Jesus, someone you can’t even question. No wonder there were so many Blacks who died drinking the lethal punch from Jim Jones.
I think his choice is a wise choice, he knows what he doing. Bossip be taking some things a little too far at times SMH

Knowledge is power
*****************READ AND LEARN********************
One morning, a little boy named Theo woke up and asked his mother, “Mom, what if there were no Black people in the world?”
His mother thought about that for a moment, and then said, “Son, follow me around today and lets just see what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world. Now go get dressed and we will get started.”
Theo ran to his room to put on his clothes and shoes. His mother took one look at him and said, “Theo, where are your shoes? Son, I must iron your clothes. Why are they so wrinkled?
When she reached for the ironing board it was no longer there. You see, Sarah Boone, a Black woman, invented the ironing board and Jan E. Matzelinger, a Black man, invented the shoe lasting machine. The shoe lasting machine is a machine that attaches the top of the shoe to the sole.
“Oh well,” she said, “Please go and do something to your hair.” Theo ran in his room to comb his hair, but the comb was not there.”
You see, Walter Sammons, a Black man, invented the comb.
Theo decided to just brush his hair, but the brush was gone. Lydia O. Newman, a Black female, invented the brush.
Well, this was a sight. Theo had no shoes, wrinkled clothes, and his hair was a mess. Even his mom’s hair was a mess. See Madam C. J. Walker was one of the first African-American female entrepreneurs, and she created many hair care products for Black women.
Mom told Theo, “Let’s do our c*****s around the house, and then take a trip to the grocery store.”
Theo’s job was to sweep the floor. He swept and swept and swept. When he reached for the dustpan, it was not there. You see, Lloyd P. Ray, a Black man, invented the dustpan.
So he swept his pile of dirt over in the corner and left it there. He then decided to mop the floor, but the mop was gone. You see, Thomas W. Stewart, a Black man, invented the mop.
Theo yelled to his Mom, “Mom, I’m not having any luck!”
“Well son,” she said, “Let me finish washing these clothes and we will prepare a list for the grocery store.”
When the wash finished, she went to place the clothes in the dryer, but it was not there. You see, George T. Sampson, a Black man, invented the clothes dryer.
Mom asked Theo to get a pencil and some paper to prepare their list for the market. So Theo ran for the paper and pencil but noticed that the pencil lead was broken. Well, he was out of luck because John Love, a Black man, invented the pencil sharpener.
Mom reached for a pen, but it was not there because William Purvis, a Black man, invented the fountain pen. As a matter of fact, Lee Burridge another Black man, invented the typewriting machine, and W. A. Lovette, another Black man, the advanced printing press.
Theo and his mother decided to head to the market. Well, when Theo opened the door he noticed the gr***** was almost 5 feet tall. You see, the lawn mower was invented by John Burr, a Black man.
They made their way over to the car and found that it just wouldn’t go. You see, Richard Spikes, a Black man, invented the automatic gearshift and Joseph Gammel invented the supercharge system for internal combustion engines. Without these, the car wouldn’t work. Gammel was also a Black man.
They noticed that the few cars that were moving were running into each other and having wrecks because there were no traffic signals. You see, Garrett A. Morgan, a Black man invented the traffic light.
Well, it was getting late, so they walked to the market, got their groceries and returned home. Just when they were about to put away the milk, eggs and butter, they noticed the refrigerator was gone. You see John Standard, a Black man, invented the refrigerator. So they just left the food on the counter.
By this time, Theo noticed he was getting mighty cold. Mom went to turn up the heat; however, Alice Parker, a Black female, invented the heating furnace so they didn’t have heat. Even in the summer time they would have been out of luck because Frederick Jones, a Black man, invented the air conditioner.
It was almost time for Theo’s father to arrive home. He usually took the bus. But there was no bus. Buses came from electric trolleys, which were invented by another Black man, Elbert R. Robinson. He usually took the elevator from his office on the 20th floor, but there was no elevator because Alexander Miles, a Black man, invented the elevator.
He also usually dropped off the office mail at a near by mailbox, but it was no longer there because Philip Downing, a Black man, invented the letter drop mailbox and William Barry, another Black man, invented the postmarking and canceling machine which, which is how we get stamps.
Theo and his mother sat at the kitchen table with their head in their hands. When the father arrived he asked, “Why are you sitting in the dark?” Why? Because Lewis Howard Latimer, a Black man, invented the filament within the light bulb. Without a filament a light bulb won’t turn on.
Theo quickly learned what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world. Daily life would be a lot more difficult, not to mention if he were ever sick and needed blood. Charles Drew, a Black scientist, found a way to preserve and store blood, which led to his starting the world’s first blood bank.
And, what if a family member had to have heart surgery? This would not have been possible without Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, a Black doctor, who performed the first open heart surgery.
You don’t have to wonder, like Theo, what the world would be like without African-Americans. It’s clear, life as we know it would be very different!
This February, celebrate the contributions of African-Americans by parti*****ting in cultural festivals, going to the African-American history museum in your neighborhood, or learning more about Black inventors. If you want to learn more about Black inventors,
The power of life and death is in the tongue
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
Fact is, the Clinton administration is one of the most effectively ran administrations period. I know we support Obama, but I wouldn’t trust Bossip for my politics.
FYI, from wsj(dot)com:
New York Federal Reserve Bank President Timothy J. Geithner is to be nominated as President-elect Barack Obama’s Treasury secretary, according to a person close to the transition process.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation began calling Geithner confidants this week, starting a vetting process of getting the economist and Fed veteran in place almost as soon as Mr. Obama is inaugurated the 44th president.
Mr. Obama plans to introduce his entire economic team early next week, hoping to sooth the roiling financial markets and answer rising pressure on the president-elect to become more involved.
True dat JW. I agree.. this is not the sight to adapt political opnions from.
First of all, who else is our President elect supposed to choose his cabinet from when we’ve had a republican in office for the last 8 years? The only democratic options are going to be ‘Clintonistas’ left over from Clinton’s run. DUH!
Please know that this is a smart move on Obama’s part. Hillary has been offered a great postition but guess what she still has to answer to Mr. President. There will be no room for any shady dealings, trust me.
Regardless of how Hillary ran her campaign you have to know that her and Bill are political beasts. They live and breath politics and this position is a great gain for them. They are not going to screw it up.
Don’t doubt our President elect’s promise for change before even giving him a chance to get into office and prove himself.
@ FACINGREALITY
@FACINGREALITY, I just read your post.. well said.
If you believe selecting Hillary Clinton is a bad idea, you should keep it to yourself. Sharing your opinion is sharing your ignorance. Hillary is a force to be reckoned with and Obama recognizes her strong political skills and connections. Hats off to Barack! He continues to demonstrate his genius!
I so agree with bossip. I voted for Barack and expect for him to shake some sh_t up to and picking the shady clinton’s is more of the same. It concerns me that some people don’t have a problem with a former President (clinton) having so much access to the new adminstration. What the hell happened to checks and balance in our country. No wonder we are not getting a damn thing done. We have Senators and Congressmen who have been in office 20- 30 years and have not changed one thing. They have become a lawless bunch in D.C. Barack rode in on the change horse promising to save the day but how you gonna save the day by hiring the people wh ruined the day !!! Now I am for experience but experience in what ? Messing up the government even more. People peep these people’s records and check what they are experienced in, for example the Clinton’s, experience:Shady and not following the law. They are almost as bad as the Bushes!!! Damn people don’t be the Jim Jones followers and drink the Kool-Aide. Wake-up and don’t sleep even on Barack.
Bossip, do you have any f-king idea what you are talking about? Stick to the paparrazi dirt and quit with the pretending you have any idea about politics or how a country is run. Because if that post was any indication, you have no clue.
@ Carly
Comparing the Clinton’s to Bush? We you alive the when Clinton was in office? Do you have any f-king clue what bull you are spewing? Get a clue. The USA was respected abroad and had an economy growing like crazy under Bill. Under Bush, well, we all know what happened – and you’re saying they’re the same? What are you, new?

Robert Gates: As Bad as Rumsfeld?
Ray McGovern
Information Clearing House
November 21, 2008
“As Bad As Rumsfeld?” The title jars, doesn’t it? The more so, since Defense Secretary Robert Gates found his predecessor, Donald Rumsfeld, such an easy act to follow.
Gates’s role in the unnecessary killing of still more Americans and Iraqis is quite enough to disqualify him.
But the jarring part reflects how malnourished most of us are on the thin gruel served up by the Fawning Corporate Media (FCM).
Over the past few months, Defense Secretary Gates has generated accolades from FCM pundits — like the Washington Post’s David Ignatius — that read like letters of recommendation to graduate school.
This comes as no surprise to those of us – including his former colleagues at the CIA’s *****ytical division – familiar with Gates’s dexterity in orchestrating his own advancement. What DOES come as a surprise is the recurring rumor that President-elect Obama may decide to put new wine in old wineskins by letting Gates stay.
What can Barack Obama be thinking?
I suspect that those in Obama’s circle who are promoting Gates may be the same advisers responsible for Obama’s most naïve comment of the recent presidential campaign: that the “surge” of U.S. troops into Iraq in 2007-08 “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”
Succeeded? You betcha — the surge was a great success in terms of the administration’s overriding objective. The aim was to stave off definitive defeat in Iraq until President George W. Bush and Vice President ***** Cheney could swagger from the West Wing into the western sunset on Jan. 20, 2009.
As author Steve Coll has put it, “The decision [to surge] at a minimum guaranteed that his [Bush's] presidency would not end with a defeat in history’s eyes. By committing to the surge [the President] was certain to at least achieve a stalemate.”
According to Bob Woodward, Bush told key Republicans in late 2005 that he would not withdraw from Iraq, “even if Laura and [first-dog] Barney are the only ones supporting me.”
Later, Woodward made it clear that Bush was well aware in fall 2006 that the U.S. was losing. Suddenly, with some fancy footwork, it became Laura, Barney – and Robert Gates. And at the turn of 2006-07 the short-term fix was in.
But Please, No More Troops!
By the fall of 2006 it had become unavoidably clear that a new course had to be chosen and implemented in Iraq, and virtually every sober thinker seemed opposed to sending more troops.
The senior military, especially CENTCOM commander Gen. John Abizaid and his man on the ground in Iraq, Gen. George Casey, emphasized that sending still more U.S. troops to Iraq would simply re*****ure leading Iraqi politicians that they could relax and continue to take forever to get their act together.
Here, for example, is Gen. Abizaid’s answer at the Senate Armed Services Committee on Nov. 15, 2006, to Sen. John McCain, who had long been pressing vigorously for sending 20,000 more troops to Iraq:
”Senator McCain, I met with every divisional commander, General Casey, the corps commander, General Dempsey, we all talked together. And I said, ‘in your professional opinion, if we were to bring in more American troops now, does it add considerably to our ability to achieve success in Iraq?’ And they all said no. And the reason is because we want the Iraqis to do more. It is easy for the Iraqis to rely upon us do this work. I believe that more American forces prevent the Iraqis from doing more, from taking more responsibility for their own future.”
The U.S. amb*****ador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, sent a cl*****ified cable to Washington warning that “proposals to send more U.S. forces to Iraq would not produce a long-term solution and would make our policy less, not more, sustainable,” according to a New York Times retrospective on the “surge” by Michael R. Gordon published on Aug. 31, 2008.
Khalilzad was arguing, unsuccessfully, for authority to negotiate a political solution with the Iraqis.
There was also the establishment-heavy Iraq Study Group, created by Congress and led by Republican stalwart James Baker and Democrat Lee Hamilton. After months of policy review during 2006 – with Gates as a member – it issued a final report on Dec. 6, 2006, that began with the ominous sentence, “The situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating.” It called for:
“A change in the primary mission of U.S. Forces in Iraq that will enable the United States to begin to move its combat forces out of Iraq responsibly… By the first quarter of 2008…all combat brigades not necessary for force protection could be out of Iraq.”
Robert Gates, who had been CIA director under President George H. W. Bush and spent years as president of Texas A&M, had returned to the Washington stage as a member of the Iraq Study Group. While on the ISG, he evidenced no disagreement with its emerging conclusions – at least not until Bush asked him to become Secretary of Defense in early November 2006.
Never one to let truth derail ambition, Gates suddenly saw things quite differently. After Bush announced his nomination on Nov. 8, Gates quit the ISG but kept his counsel about its already widely reported recommendations.
Gates would do what he needed to do to become Defense Secretary. At his confirmation hearing on Dec. 5, he obscured his opinions by telling the Senate Armed Services only that “all options are on the table in terms of Iraq.” Many Democrats, however, *****umed that Gates would help persuade Bush to implement the ISG’s plan for a troop drawdown.
With unanimous Democratic support and only two conservative Republicans opposed, Gates was confirmed by the full Senate on Dec. 6, the same day the ISG report was formally released.
Gates to the Rescue
Yet, the little-understood story behind Bush’s decision to catapult Robert Gates into his Pentagon perch was the astonishing fact that Donald Rumsfeld, of all people, was pulling a Robert McNamara; that is, he was going wobbly on a war based largely on his own hubris-laden, misguided advice.
As investigative journalist Robert Parry has reported, in the fall of 2006 Rumsfeld was having a reality attack. In Rumsfeld-speak, he came face to face with a “known known.”
On Nov. 6, 2006, a day before the mid-term elections, Rumsfeld sent a memo to the White House, in which he acknowledged, “Clearly, what U.S. forces are currently doing in Iraq is not working well enough or fast enough.” The rest of his memo sounded very much like the emerging troop-drawdown conclusions of the Iraq Study Group.
The first 80 percent of Rumsfeld’s memo addressed “Illustrative Options,” including his preferred – or “above the line” – options such as “an accelerated drawdown of U.S. bases … to five by July 2007″ and withdrawal of U.S. forces “from vulnerable positions — cities, patrolling, etc. … so the Iraqis know they have to pull up their socks, step up and take responsibility for their country.”
Finally, Rumsfeld had begun to listen to his generals and others who knew which end was up.
The hurdle? Bush and Cheney were not about to follow Rumsfeld’s example in “going wobbly.” Like Robert McNamara at a similar juncture during Vietnam, Rumsfeld had to be let go before he caused a President to “lose a war.”
Acutely sensitive to this political bugaboo, Rumsfeld included the following sentences at the end of the preferred-options section of his Nov. 6 memo:
“Announce that whatever new approach the U.S. decides on, the U.S. is doing so on a trial basis. This will give us the ability to readjust and move to another course, if necessary, and therefore not ‘lose.’”
The remainder of the memo listed “Below the Line — less attractive options.” The top three in the “less attractive” category were:
“–Continue on the current path.
–Move a large fraction of all U.S. forces into Baghdad to attempt to control it.
–Increase Brigade Combat Teams and U.S. forces substantially.”
In other words, a “surge.” (It is a safe bet that people loyal to Rumsfeld at the National Security Council alerted him to the surge-type plans being hatched off line by neoconservative strategists.)
In the White House’s view, Rumsfeld had outlived his usefulness. One can *****ume that he floated his “above the line” trial balloons with Cheney and others before he sent over the actual memo on Nov. 6, 2006. What were Bush and Cheney to do?
Exit Left
It was awkward. Right up to the week before the mid-term elections on Nov. 7, 2006, President Bush had insisted that he intended to keep Rumsfeld in place for the next two years. Suddenly, the President had to deal with Rumsfeld’s apostasy.
The Secretary of Defense had strayed off the reservation and he was putting his “above the line” recommendations in writing no less. Rumsfeld had let reality get to him, together with the very strong protestations of all senior uniformed officers save one — the ambitious David Petraeus, who was onboard for the “surge” escalation.
With the bemedaled Petraeus in the wings, the White House just needed a new Pentagon chief who could be counted on to take Rumsfeld’s place, do the White House’s bidding, and trot out Petraeus ex machina as needed.
On Nov. 5, 2006, Bush had a one-on-one with Gates in Crawford and the deal was struck. Forget the torturously hammered-out recommendations of the Iraq Study Group; forget what the military commanders were saying. Gates suddenly found the “surge” an outstanding idea.
Well, not really. That’s just what he let Bush believe. Gates is second to none — not even Petraeus — in ambition and self-promotion. He wanted to be Secretary of Defense, to be back at center stage in Washington after nearly 14 years in exile from the big show.
He quickly agreed to tell Gen. Abizaid to retire; offer Gen. Casey a sinecure as Army chief of staff, providing he kept his mouth shut; and eagle-scout his way through Senate confirmation with the help of pundits like Ignatius composing panegyrics in honor of Gates, the “realist.”
So relieved were the senators to be rid of the hated-but-feared Rumsfeld that the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Dec. 5 on Gates’s nomination had the aura of a pajama party (I was there).
Gates told them bedtime stories. He vowed to show “great deference to the judgment of generals.” (sic)
Trying to Explain the Surge
It was hardly two years ago, but memories fade and the Fawning Corporate Media, of course, is no help in shedding light on what actually happened.
Gates did his part in getting rid of Abizaid and Casey, but the administration faltered embarr*****ingly in coming up with a rationale to “justify” the surge. The truth, of course, was not an option. The White House could not exactly say, “We simply cannot live with the thought of losing a war before we leave town.”
On Dec. 20, 2006, President Bush told the Washington Post that he was “inclined to believe we do need to increase our troops, the Army and Marines.” He added, tellingly, “There’s got to be a specific mission that can be accomplished with the addition of more troops.”
And he said he would look to Gates, just back from a quick trip to Baghdad, to help explain.
By way of preliminary explanation for the “surge,” President Bush wandered back and forth between “ideological struggle” to “sectarian violence.” He told the Post, “I’m going to keep repeating this over and over again, that I believe we’re in an ideological struggle” and, besides, “sectarian violence [is] obviously the real problem we face.”
When it became clear that those dogs wouldn’t hunt, the White House justified the “surge” as necessary to give Iraqi government leaders “breathing *****e” to work out their differences.
Breathing *****e for the leading Iraqi officials was the rationale offered by Bush in a major address on Jan 10, 2007. Pulling out all the stops, he raised the specter of another 9/11, and spoke of the “decisive ideological struggle of our time.”
Bush dismissed those who “are concerned that the Iraqis are becoming too dependent on the United States” and those whose “solution is to scale back America’s efforts in Baghdad — or announce a phased withdrawal of our combat forces.”
The President did warn that the year ahead would be “***** and violent, even if our strategy works.”
One would be tempted to laugh at Bush’s self-absorption — and Gates’s ambition — were we not talking about the completely unnecessary killing of over 1,000 U.S. troops, a quarter of all U.S. troops killed in this godforsaken war/occupation.
In reality, by throwing 20,000 to 30,000 additional troops into Baghdad, Bush and Cheney were the ones who got the two-year breathing *****e.
But what about that? What about the thousand-plus U.S. troops killed during the “surge”? The tens of thousand Iraqis? The hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes in the Baghdad area?
I fear the attitude was this: *****ody important would get killed, just a bunch of Iraqis and GIs mostly from small-town and inner-city America. And, anyway, our soldiers and Marines all volunteered, didn’t they? (I almost did something violent to the last person I heard say that.)
Bush, Cheney and Gates apparently deemed it a small price to pay for enabling them to blame a successor administration for the inevitable withdrawal from America’s first large-scale war of aggression.
The FCM missed it (surprise, surprise) but one did not have to be a crackerjack intelligence *****yst to see what was happening.
At the time, Col. W. Patrick Lang, USA (retired), and I wrote a piece on Dec. 20, 2006, in which we exposed the chicanery and branded such a “surge” strategy “nothing short of immoral, in view of the predicable troop losses and the huge number of Iraqis who would meet violent injury and death.”
Surprisingly, we were joined by Sen. Gordon Smith, R-Oregon, who explained to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos why Smith said on the Senate floor that U.S. policy on Iraq may be “criminal.”
“You can use any adjective you want, George. But I have long believed that in a military context, when you do the same thing over and over again without a clear strategy for victory, at the expense of your young people in arms, that is dereliction. That is deeply immoral.”
Go West, Young Man
There are a host of reasons why Robert Gates should not be asked to stay on by President-elect Obama. (Robert Parry has put together much of Gates’s history in his 2004 book, Secrecy & Privilege, and you may wish to read what I and other former CIA *****ysts, who knew Gates during that part of his career, have written at Consortiumnews.com’s Gates archive.)
For me, Gates’s role in the unnecessary killing of still more Americans and Iraqis is quite enough to disqualify him.
I have known Gates for almost 40 years; he has always been transparently ambitious, but he is also bright. He knew better; and he did it anyway.
One can only hope that, once President-elect Obama has time to focus seriously on prospective Cabinet appointments, he will discount advice from those taken in by the cheerleading for Gates or from the kind of dullard who suggested that Obama finesse the FCM’s simplistic embrace of the “surge” by saying it “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”
[For more on the alleged success of the “surge,” see Consortiumnews.com’s “The Rising Cost of the Iraq Surge.”]
For Gates, Rumsfeld was an extremely easy act to follow. But, at least in one sense, Gates is worse than Rumsfeld, for Rumsfeld had finally begun to listen to the right people and adjust. It now seems the height of irony that the “above the line” adjustments that Rumsfeld proposed in his memo of Nov. 6, 2006, would have had most U.S. troops out of Iraq by now.
But can one portray Gates as worse than Rumsfeld across the board? I think not. When you crank in torture, lying and total disrespect for law, Rumsfeld has a clear edge in moral turpitude. Still, I suspect this matters little to the thousands now dead because of the “surge” that Gates did so much to enable — and to the families of the fallen.
Surely, it should not be too much to expect that President-elect Obama find someone more suitable to select for Secretary of Defense than an unprincipled chameleon like Gates.
Get Ready For The Obama “Green Brigades”
Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet(dot)com
Friday, November 21, 2008
A previously defeated bill that would reduce emissions of that evil, life-giving gas that humans exhale and plants absorb, carbon dioxide, is set to return in January under an Obama administration hell-bent on p*****ing legislation that would inflict the equivalent of a new great depression on America while creating a new infrastructure of “green brigades” and informants to regulate every aspect of our behavior.
“The US Senate will take up two sweeping global warming bills in January, in the latest sign that Barack Obama’s election could quickly reverse years of US footdragging on climate change,” reports AFP.
“The….legislation will direct the US Environmental Protection Agency to set up a cap-and-trade system to stem greenhouse gas emissions.”
Obama reiterated his endorsement for the bill on Tuesday during a speech in which he again called for an 80 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by 2050.
The only way this can be achieved of course is with a giant stealth tax not only on businesses, but on individuals, backed by the giant strong arm of tyrannical enforcement by hoards of “climate cops” sticking their noses into our private lives, as is already embryonically being metered out in Britain.
“The time to start is now,” said Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer, vowing to step up to Obama’s challenge to combat climate change and create millions of “green jobs” in the reeling US economy.”
How many of these “green jobs” will be staffed by “green brigades” tasked with regulating and surveilling every aspect of your behavior to ensure your compliance with the state-mandated religion of phony environmentalism, while the state itself does everything to accelerate or ignore the real environmental problems like GM crop contamination, deforestation, genetic splicing, chemtrail spraying, cancer-causing cellphone pollution, as well as the plethora of crap being put in our water, food and vaccines like sodium fluoride, MSG, aspartame, mercury, pesticides, and rat poison?
All of these real problems are pushed aside by the all-mighty threat of “climate change,” despite the fact that the climate has always changed throughout eons of history, with no contribution by man.
How many of Obama’s promised “national civilian security force,” a cadre we are guaranteed will be as strong or stronger than the U.S. Army, will be *****igned to spy on their neighbors for enviro-crimes and report them to the local green commissariat?
The cost to the U.S. economy if the bill is p*****ed, as revealed by an Environmental Protection Agency investigation, would be $2.9 trillion, 6.9 percent shaved off the country’s GDP, a figure comparable to the Great Depression, along with millions of jobs lost.
And all for what? A reduction of carbon emissions by 80 per cent will result in a maximum temperature decrease of about 0.10 to 0.20 degrees Celsius, underscoring the fact that natural climate change has throughout history eclipsed any effect man can have on temperature variations.
And why the hell should we want to lower temperatures anyway? Here in Britain we had our first October snow since the 1930’s as the country again braces itself for Arctic temperatures this weekend while top scientists warn of a new ice age within 10 years.
Arctic sea ice has expanded 30 per cent, an area the size of Germany, since last summer, Alaskan glaciers have grown for the first time in 250 years, while record low temperatures have hit parts of America across the country.
Meanwhile, climate scientists allied with the IPCC were caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating. NASA’s Goddard Institute for *****e Studies (GISS), run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, announced that last month was the hottest October on record. They later had to admit their “error” after it was revealed that they had used temperature records from September, a naturally hotter month, and merely p*****ed them off as representing October temperatures.
Global warming fearmongers like the World Wildlife Fund are having to resort to deception as a clear trend of global cooling unfolds. In a recent report, the WWF cited shrinking Arctic ice coverage to suggest climate change is “faster and more extreme” than first thought, while failing to acknowledge that Arctic sea ice expanded over an area bigger than the size of Germany during the year of 2008.
Without question, developing alternative energy methods and encouraging the use of solar and wind power for means of self-sufficiency and reducing dependency on oil and fossil fuels is a fantastic notion and should be widely supported. But this isn’t about helping the environment, it’s about exploiting people’s legitimate concern for the planet by diverting their attention and getting them to enthusiasticallty partake in their own enslavement while mandating their fellow citizens do the same.
Welcome to another dose of the “change you can believe in,” trillions more of taxpayer’s money thrown at a scam that has nothing to do with saving the environment and everything to do with raping the middle cl***** and the poor while erecting a gargantuan police state system of informants and enforcement to carry out the elite’s new feudalist agenda.
Jesus did choose Judas and Judas got Jesus to the cross but I don’t know ’bout that Hill.
@someone with a brain I absolutely agree. It amazes me how Bossip can call the clintons shady after Hillary’s Speech at the DNC. Now I have to ask bossip are you in it just for Obama or are you in it for the bigger picture? The clintons went all out to help mend a broken party, they campaigned for Obama, they donated money to Obama, they didn’t have anymore negative things to say because the primaries where over and they understood that it time to focus on the goal at hand and obviously it worked because if Romney did the same thing for Mccain we might all be singing a very sad song. Stop talking ***** Bossip and look at reality. The clintons were a phenom***** administration for blacks, women and the middle cl*****. They were hated by the right wing. If Hillary had her way when Bill was in office we wouldn’t even be dealing with a health care crisis because we would all have an option to have public healthcare like canada or cuba (who regardless of the communist regime has one of the best health systems in the world) or france. So go back to your hit or miss post and leave the political talk to serious political media outlets like NPR, CNN, link and the like.
Keep your friends close, but your enemies in your cabinet. LOL!
Verizon fired employess for accessing the Presidents phone records.
I cosign Celia’s post…leave the political *****ysis to the experts. Everyone (even right wing pundits) recognizes that the choice of Hillary Clinton as secretary of state is a very good choice. She is an intelligent woman and has the talent necessary to begin repairing America’s tattered image abroad. (By the way, I’ve been an Obama supporter since early 2007.) Moreover, if you’ve been paying any sort of attention to the news, you’ll learn that Obama’s selection of Hillary is in line with Lincoln’s team of rivals — surrounding yourself with people of differing opinions in order to create a kind of tension that will lead to good, well-thought out policies. I really wish people would educate themselves on the FACTS before talking crazy out the *****.
OMG BOSSIP STAFF ARE DUMB *****S AND INFLUENCING SOME OF THEIR VEIWERS TO BE DUMB *****S
New to posting but not new to politics, but you must be new to politics. Some would argue that the economy did not grow under the Clintons but the use of Credit sure did. Alan Greenspan served under the first President Bush as well as the Clintons. Bill Clinton did not do a damn thing to stop the economic and housing bubble that started in the 90’s. He ushered in NAFTA which as hurt the us economy with trade practices that have been fair to China but left the United States in a heep of ***** with the dollar *****ering on the brink of disaster. He was not a good President for Blacks, What a crock of BS. He put more black men in jail under the suspect drug laws then any other President. Not to mention ruining some Carribean economies while kissing the ***** of Libby Lobbyist. As far as Health Care, Hillarly started the fight then joined the enemy by being the highest paid Senator from insurance and Drug Companies. I love the ideas of Barack but they are not crap if you don’t put them into practice. We are heading for a great deppression if something does not change and that ***** has been a long time building. So please really look into these people’s background and not just what you hear on fixed news,Damn!!!!!
@carly.
the housing bubble may have begun during Clintons Adminstration, but he did not encourage it.
The banks kicked off the sub-prime mess. Freddie and Ginnie were not purchasing sub-prime loans from the banks, only standard home loans.
Once freddie and ginnie saw what was am*****ing, they tried to buy some of those loans from the banks, but the banks cried foul. They only wanted their hands in the cookie jar.
NAFTA hurts, but diplomatically our neighbors are less open to the idea of allowing hostile nations to setup shop as they did in Cuba.
Clinton achieve plenty during his adminstration and had there not been so much partianship in congress, he would have achieved more. REMEMBER he had to shut down the government just to let the REPUBLICANS know that a new sherriff was in town.
Carribean economies……….puhleeze.
Yes, he said change, but do you really think he meant pickin a bunch of random folks to fill important positions? He’s picking qualified, well established, and well respected people to help bring to life his vision as a President.
I really don’t understand why people think that because he’s picking people we actually know, he’s not about change. If he picked a bunch of unseasoned folks to join him in the White House, then we’d all be saying he has poor judgement, too risky.
Can the man be inaugurated first before we start judging his first term in office?!
Presidents come down to the lesser of two evils. The world is ran by the people who own the global banks. Clinton may be credited by putting more blacks in jail behind shady drug laws, but Bush is responsible for the influx on drugs into the black community as well as the guns in order to pursue his own agenda. So if Clinton started the Mortgage Bubble, Bush blew it up. Since the beginning of this war the economy has been on a steady decline. But the fact is American’s are going to sit back and let whatever happen, not taking place in the solutions. We can limit purchasing all the crap we do from china, we can stop wasting so damn much, create local business instead of pumping up corporations. Everyone who ran out and got a sub-prime loan they could not afford. Everyone who ran to walmart because toilet paper was 5 cents cheaper. Everyone who doesn’t pay attention to what is going on in the world don’t take a moment to read a damn paper or take part in the running of their country, we have this lazy attitude about waiting for government to fix ***** and wondering what happened.
No I don’t expect him to pick random people but their are alot of qualified people in congress other than the Clinton Crew!!! Hillarly is the worst pick after all this is the lady who refered to the Death of Bobby Kennedy possibly being the fate of Barack so that she could become the nominee !!!! Come on give me a break!!!
No I don’t expect him to pick random people but their are alot of qualified people in DC other than the Clinton Crew!!! Hillarly is the worst pick after all this is the lady who refered to the Death of Bobby Kennedy possibly being the fate of Barack so that she could become the nominee !!!! Come on give me a break!!!
I do not understand why so many of you do not like Hillary. The economy was great under the Clinton administration.
BOSSIP, got it right! When Hillary Clinton was in the race, there was no way in hell would I have voted for her had she won. When I voted for Obama, I didn’t vote for everyone the Clinton’s people, but for a change.
Just like they didn’t Vetted Sarah Palin before adding her on the ticket, it sure must apply to Hillary Clinton also.
The Clinton’s, have shown the world that they are racist and she is the one along with cheating Bill, made use of the race card that the Republican’s took and ran with.
While Hillary was running, Bill did not release any of the information required, no records, no nothing, and they allowed them to get away with it.
So now I am suppose to believe that he actually give a fat rat about his wife and will do the right thing? Hillary and Bill are thefts, they stole furniture from the White House on their way out and Bill refuse to of away. He is still a cheater and will not change and in the end, Obama will end up looking like the fool.
Yes, I am mad as hell. While the campaign was going on, Obama ran a tight ship. There was no leaks and the people on his team were loyal. Now with the Clinonites added, everyday his business is all in the street.
The Secret Service is not worth a dam, because everybody knows the First Family code names and now the entire world knows what school the girls will be going to. All of this cl*****ified information is being leaks out and he hasn’t even took office yet.
@SELENA
I do not understand why so many of you do not like Hillary. The economy was great under the Clinton administration.
________________________________________________
Yes, but Hillary wasn’t the president, Bill was. Have you ever seen Michael Moore’s ‘Sicko’? Remember when Bill put her in charge of creating a universal health plan for Americans and it never happened? It was because she was bought off just like all the other senators.
Bill nor Hillary can be trusted. The Clintons with their astronomical egos are not ones to take direction. I think this was a huge mistake on Obama’s part.
Barack is human. Whether or not this is a mistake remains to be seen. He is a smart man. This is strategic. Considering some of her faithful followers were still not on board elections, perhaps this is the action they will be pleased with. It was the right thing to do. Even if she decides not to take the position. Sure she has some qualities I’m not too keen on, but she certainly is one smart woman and she does care about the well being of not just Americans but the world. People like her, its evident; 18 million + voted for her, so I respect what she can bring to the table. (Good and bad, none of us are perfect (Well, Razzell pulling about a 97%) If nothing else, it further illustrates Baracks ability to embrace those who may or maynot share his ideologies on some issues.
JW
Fact is, the Clinton administration is one of the most effectively ran administrations period. I know we support Obama, but I wouldn’t trust Bossip for my politics.
JW, why don’t you ask some of Ron Brown’s family to tell you about the Clinton’s?
Bill Clinton appointed Ron Brown Commerce Secretary, partly as a reward for Ron Brown’s success as a campaign fund raiser. From day one, allegations surrounded the exact means and methods by which this success was attained. Investigations into Ron Brown’s activities (his son would later plead guilty to money laundering) were nearing the point of indictments, and Ron Brown had publicly stated that he would not go to jail alone, when the airplane carrying Ron Brown and about 30 other people crashed in Bosnia.
It is worth noting that Ron Brown was just one of four Clinton campaign fund raisers to die under questionable cir*****stances. The others were C. Victor Raiser II, Hershel Friday, and Ed Willey, a total of three plane crashes and one “Fosterization”. Following Brown’s demise, his personal attorney as well as a co-worker at the Department of Commerce, Barbara Wise also died under questionable cir*****stances. As in the case of yet another “suddenly dead” member of the Clinton administration, Vincent Foster , Ron Brown’s office was ransacked for files by Commerce staff immediately after his death.
In the wake of Brown’s death, even though the investigation into his activities was effectively closed down, allegations continued to surface that Brown had traded seats on trade missions for DNC campaign donations, and had even solicited money from Vietnam! Now infamous security leaks John Huang and Ira Sockowitz were at Ron Brown’s Commerce Department at the times they were leaking cl*****ified satellite technology to the Chinese.
IS THIS A PART OF HILLARY SECRET LEGACY

Jon Parnell Walker: An investigator for the RTC who was looking into the linkage between the Whitewater and Madison S&L bankruptcy. Walker “fell” from the top of the Lincoln Towers Building.
Stanley Heard & Steven *****son: They were members of the Clinton health care advisory committee. They died in a plane crash on September 10, 1993.
Jerry Luther Parks: Parks was the Chief of Security for Clinton’s national campaign headquarters in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car on September 26, 1993 near the intersection of Chenal Parkway and Highway 10 west of Little Rock. Parks was shot through the rear window of his car. The *****ailant then pulled around to the driver’s side of Park’s car and shot him three more times with a 9mm pistol. His family reported that shortly before his death, they were being followed by unknown persons, and their home had been broken into (despite a top quality alarm system). Parks had been compiling a dossier on Clinton’s illicit activities. The dossier was stolen.

Calvin Walraven: 24 year on Walraven was a key witness against Jocelyn Elder’s son’s drug case. Walraven was found dead in his apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. Tim Hover, a Little Rock police spokesman says no foul play is suspected.
Alan G. Whicher: Oversaw Clinton’s Secret Service detail. In October 1994 Whicher was transferred to the Secret Service field office in the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Three hours later he was found floating in the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Ron Brown:. The Commerce Secretary died on April 3, 1996, in an Air Force jet carrying Brown and 34 others, including 14 business executives on a trade mission to Croatia, crashed into a mountainside. The Air Force, in a 22-volume report issued in June of 1996, confirmed its initial judgment that the crash resulted from pilot errors and faulty navigation equipment At the time of Brown’s death, Independent Counsel Daniel Pearson was seeking to determine whether Brown had engaged in several sham financial transactions with longtime business partner Nolanda Hill shortly before he became secretary of commerce.
Charles Meissner: died: UNK – Following Ron Brown’s death, John Huang was placed on a Commerce Department contract that allowed him to retain his security clearance
by Charles Meissner. Shortly thereafter, Meissner died in the crash of a small plane. He was an *****istant Secretary of Commerce for International Economic Policy.
William Colby: Retired CIA director was found dead on May 6,1996 after his wife reported him missing on April 27,1996. Apparently, Colby decided to go on a impromptu canoeing excursion and never returned. Colby who had just started writing for Strategic Investment newsletter, worried many in the intelligent community. Colby’s past history of divulging CIA secrets in the past were well known. Strategic Investor had covered the Vince Foster suicide and had hired handwriting experts to review Foster’s suicide note.
Admiral Jeremy Boorda: Died on May 16,1996 after he went home for lunch and decided to shoot himself in the chest (by one report, twice) rather than be interviewed by Newsweek magazine that afternoon. Explanations for Boorda’s suicide focused on a claim that he was embarr*****ed over two “Valor” pins he was not authorized to wear.
Lance Herndon: Herndon a 41 year old computer specialist and a prominent entrepreneur who received a presidential appointment in 1995 died August 10, 1996 under suspicious cir*****stances. Neil Moody: Died -August 25, 1996 Following Vincent Foster’s murder, Lisa Foster married James Moody, a judge in Arkansas, on Jan 1, 1996. Near the time Susan McDougal first went to jail for contempt, Judge Moor’s son, Neil died in a car crash. There were other reports that Neil Moody had discovered something very unsettling among his stepmother’s private papers and was threatening to go public with it just prior to the beginning of the Democratic National Convention. He was alleged to have been talking to Bob Woodward of the Washington Post about a blockbuster story. Witnesses said they saw Neil Moody sitting in his car arguing with another person just prior to His car suddenly speeding off out of control and hitting a brick wall.
Barbara Wise: Wise a 14-year Commerce Department employee found dead and partially naked in her office following a long weekend. She worked in the same section as John Huang. Officially, she is said to have died of natural causes.

Mary C. Mahoney: 25, murdered at the Georgetown Starbuck’s coffee bar over the 4th of July ‘97 weekend. She was a former White House intern who worked with John Huang. Apparently she knew Monica Lewinsky and her sexual encounters with Bill Clinton. Although not verified, it has been said that Lewinsky told Linda Tripp that she did not want to end up like Mahoney.
Ronald Miller: Suddenly took ill on October 3rd,1997 and steadily worsened until his death 9 days later. (This pattern fits Ricin poisoning.) Owing to the strangeness of the illness, doctors at the Integris Baptist Medical Center referred the matter to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office promptly ran tests on samples of Ron Miller’s blood, but has refused to release the results or even to confirm that the tests were ever completed.
Had been investigated by authorities over the sale of his company, Gage Corp. to Dynamic Energy Resources, Inc. was the man who tape recorded Gene and Nora Lum and turned those tapes (and other records) over to congressional oversight investigators. The Lums were sentenced to prison for campaign finance violations, using “straw donors” to conceal the size of their contributions to various candidates. Indeed, Dynamic Energy Resources, Inc. had hired Ron Brown’s son Michael solely for the purpose of funneling $60,000 through him to the Commerce Secretary, according to Nolanda Hill’s testimony.
Sandy Hume: On Sunday, February 22nd, 1998, Sandy Hume, the 28 year old son of journalist Britt Hume, was reportedly found dead in his Arlington, Virginia home. Aside from the statement that this was an “apparent” suicide, there remains in place a total media blackout on this story, possibly out of concern that the actual facts will not withstand public scrutiny. Worked for Hill magazine, about Congress for Congress.
Jim McDougal: Bill and Hillary Clinton friend, banker, and political ally, sent to prison for eighteen felony convictions. A key whitewater witness, dies of a heart attack on March, 8 1998. As of this writing allegations that he was given an injection of the diuretic lasix has not been denied or confirmed.
Died on March 8, 1998
Johnny Lawhon: 29, died March 29, 1998- The Arkansas transmission specialist who discovered a pile of Whitewater do*****ents in the trunk of an abandoned car on his property and turned them over to Starr, was killed in a car wreck two weeks after the McDougal death.. Details of the “accident” have been sketchy — even from the local Little Rock newspaper.
Charles Wilbourne Miller: 63, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head on November 17, 1998 in a shallow pit about 300 yards from his ranch house near Little Rock. Police found a .410 gauge shotgun near Miller’s body and a Ruger .357-caliber revolver submerged in water. Investigators concluded the Ruger was the weapon used by Miller to kill himself. Yet, two rounds in the handgun’s cylinder had been spent.
He had long served as executive vice president and member of the board of directors for a company called Alltel and was deeply involved in his own software engineering company until the day he died. Alltel is the successor to Jackson Stephens’ Systematics, the company that provided the software for the White House’s “Big Brother” data base system and that was behind the administration’s plan to develop the secret computer “Clipper” chip to bug every phone, fax and email transmission in America.
Carlos Ghigliotti: 42, was found dead in his home just outside of Washington D.C. on April 28, 2000. There was no sign of a break-in or struggle at the firm of Infrared Technology where the badly decomposed body of Ghigliotti was found. Ghigliotti had not been seen for several weeks.
Ghigliotti, a thermal imaging *****yst hired by the House Government Reform Committee to review tape of the siege, said he determined the FBI fired shots on April 19, 1993. The FBI has explained the light bursts on infrared footage as reflections of sun rays on shards of gl***** or other debris that littered the scene.
“I conclude this based on the groundview videotapes taken from several different angles simultaneously and based on the overhead thermal tape,” Ghigliotti told The Washington Post last October. “The gunfire from the ground is there, without a doubt.”
Ghigliotti said the tapes also confirm the Davidians fired repeatedly at FBI agents during the *****ault, which ended when flames raced through the compound. About 80 Branch Davidians perished that day, some from the fire, others from gunshot wounds.
Mark Corallo, a spokesman for the congressional committee chaired by Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., said that police found the business card of a committee investigator in Ghigliotti’s office. Corallo said Ghigliotti’s work for the committee ended some time ago.
Tony Moser: 41, was killed as he crossed a street in Pine Bluff, Ark on on June 10, 2000. Killed 10 days after being named a columnist for the Democrat-Gazette newspaper and two days after penning a stinging indictment of political corruption in Little Rock.
Police have concluded that no charges will be filed against the unnamed driver of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup, which hit Moser as he was walking alone in the middle of unlit Rhinehart Road about 10:10 p.m
Police say they have ruled out foul play and will file no charges against the driver because he was not intoxicated and there was no sign of excessive speed.
Umm…okay, what is wrong with the Clintons??? During the primaries, I was VERY divided as to who to vote for between the highly intelligent, hard-working and strong Hillary and Obama. Last time I checked, Bill Clinton’s highly successful presidency was the first and ONLY time this country has had a surplus. I am starting to rethink treating bossip as my “must visit” site of the day.
jolly has the most accurate post thus far.

Obama says Iowa voters should end Washington’s ’food fight’
By *****ociated Press
Thursday, December 27, 2007 – Added 330d 6h ago
DES MOINES, Iowa – Barack Obama declared today he’s the only candidate who can bring true change in Washington, hoping to persuade Iowa voters to give him the first victory in the Democratic presidential race.
Making his case against Hillary Rodham Clinton without naming her, Obama said, “The real gamble in this election is playing the same Washington game with the same Washington players and expecting a different result.”
Bossip you have some stupid things but this is it I am done with this site. Do you even think abou the articles an what they ae saying vefore you post them. Goodbye.
Never discuss politics, religion or who’s the best rapper alive. People get hostile when their beliefs are questioned.
Although, it is interesting to see how folks feel about things.
I see someone has heard about the killing spree the Clintons have “supposedly” committed…better to kill a few quick and quiet than loud and wrong like Bush
Back the eff up, Bossip. Anyone who has any experience in D.C. right now has worked for the Clintons, shady as that family may be. Don’t get all GOP on us and start smacking him down before he formally takes office. Get your minds right over there.
Just to clarify, I can’t stand the Clinton family (though Chelsea ain’t done nothing — yet). Anyway, let Obama get his team working. We have enough right-wringers already trying to call Obama out before he’s even stepped into the White House.
right-wingers. sorry. I’ll back up from my keyboard now LOL.
agreed, the Clinton’s will ***** him over. he’s doing this as a courtesy to the Democratic party, but Hillary will try to take over.
Who knows it just may be a great collabo, only time will tell. but for right now Lets Git In Black People!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wealth, health, and happiness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Clinton Administration did more for black people and senior citizens since the Great Society of the 60’s.
Lot *****hs got the pell grant to go to college under Clinton.
Bush told us to kiss his @ss
Bossip is always trying to start some *****!
Shady? Wow! Bossip you’re slippin’ , Yeah her husbands a little whorish…but our country did very well when they were in the White House…Im ready for some more of that shadiness….Bring it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, you may be right……..
But let’s trust his judgement.
@ big boss
that’s just it, they don’t appear to be team players.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Bill Clinton (greatest prez since FDR) and had a lot of belief that Hillary would do a good job getting our country back on track.
BUT Hillary is Bill and Bill is Hillary. I think they will give Obama such a headache.
I question whether he has gotten them to understand that he is the boss and they are working with his goals in mind first!
I don’t think it’s possible to get them to commint to Obama’s plan for the long term before they stray and cause scandal.
Never put too Much Trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies
Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.
Bossip make up your mind 1st you were backing Obama and now its “your boy Obama” HUH? Talk about some folks jumping on the band wagon, let the man’s administration play out before you start critiziing his decisions.
@ 48 Laws of Power
How good for you, you read the 48 laws of power… Have You ever read the Bible, or maybe the Koran??? Excellent books!!!!! Peace to G.O.D.
Bossip, I thought you guys were smarter than that. Even Lincoln held a cabinet of “rivals” that he worked closely with. Dont start a shakeup when rumor when we all know they’ll be under the microscope. I dont think there will be any amount of “shadiness” going on.
bossip, apparently you know absolutely nothing of politics which is why you deserve a reprimand in small letering (no caps). Obama is picking people with experience and if you knew anything about “camp clinton”, you’d know that the world outside of the u.s. absolutely loves them and hill has major experience from bill’s days in the house. please do your homework before you start to bash the mans choices. so far he’s batting a thousand.
…ooops, “lettering”
watttt daaaa F**K ISS HE DOINNNNN WHYY THT LIL HEFFER KMTTTTTT
