I should be the first black James Bond because,though I’m a Canadian lad rather than a U.K. one,at 56,5-9,218 lb.,I’m considered classically handsome and speak with a working-class braying tenor which belies my age,size and race.(I CERTAINLY don’t sound “urban”[read:"black"]because I’m also a Country singer/song-writer.

A lot of y’all are high. Has to be some sort of Brit – the only one’s I can think of are Chiwetel Ejifor, Idris Elba and Adrian Lester. There’s probably (hopefully) some young good looking Black Briton working in tv and films over there, but I don’t know of him.

An American Bond would be the dumbest thing ever – Black or White.

Jamie Foxx – NO

Will Smith – GAWD NO

Diddy – HELL TO THE NAW!!

Blaire Underwood – Nope (he has a corny factor that just won’t work as Bond)

Denzel – Sorry, love D. but too old

Idris – He mumbles and looks too rough, lacks the suaveness.

I think if you want to do Black Bond, then you need to find a fresh face. There are other black actors out there.

Better yet, I agree with the idea that Ian Fleming’s Bond is a white character, so do we have to apply our “political correctness” slant to it and Blackify it? What’s next the latino Bond? Then the Native American bond? Oh can’t forget the Asian bond and then the Armenian Bond…..just leave it be.

To be honest, neither. And James Bond is a White English guy. This is not to say that there can’t be Black action-spy-heroes. There can be. But there’s no need to change the James Bond character. Just write a new, interesting, black spy action-hero.

Hey, what about a female bond? An asian bond? Why just a black bond? it could be like CSI instead of one for every city one for every minority and THEN you could add into the mix a disabled Bond because, lets face it, WHY should they be left out too? It’s about time disabled folks were offered better roles! (SMH)

Come on! This is ridiculous, as “And…” said , you see Tom Cruise playing Shaft? He’s an iconic african american popular character, and Bond is an iconic caucasian character. Get over it!

Now no one is stopping anyone from coming up with a James Bond-like franchise that would become a classic character and be played by a non caucasian male, but it wont ever be James Bond.
