George Zimmerman’s Attorney’s Withdraw From His Defense

Attorneys for a Florida neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot an unarmed black teen have withdrawn as his counsel, saying they have lost contact with him.

Attorney Craig Sonner said Tuesday in a news conference they haven’t heard from George Zimmerman since Sunday. They said that against their advice, Zimmerman contacted the special prosecutor who will decide if he should face charges.

Zimmerman is at the center of an investigation over the shooting of Trayvon Martin, 17. Zimmerman says he shot Martin in self-defense after following him in a gated community in Sanford on Feb. 26.

Martin, who was unarmed, was black. Zimmerman’s father is white and his mother is Hispanic. The lack of an arrest has inspired nationwide protests and some claims of racial profiling, which Zimmerman’s supporters deny.

In the CNN press conference that is playing live right now, the lawyers claim that they have never actually met George Zimmerman in person, however they do still believe that he acted in self-defense.

Sounds REALLY fishy…we’re willing to bet money that this guy offs himself and will never see the light of a courtroom.

UPDATE:

Zimmerman’s attorney is still talkin’ greasy to the media as we speak and is totally convinced that Georgy is innocent.

“It’s no so much that we are resigning. It’s that we cannot continue to represent him until he comes forward,” said attorney Craig Sonner. “He’s got to reach out to us,” added co-counsel Hal Uhrig

“He’s not returning my message not returning my texts not returning my emails. He wont’ even give me a collect call,” Sonner said.

Despite stepping away from Zimmerman as a client, both attorneys say they continue to believe he acted in self-defense. “We frankly believe the correct decision will be to not charge him,” Uhrig said.

The attorneys say they know of Zimmerman’s location and have his personal phone number but have been unable to reach him directly for 48 hours. “George can’t go out and buy a Diet Coke. There’s a bounty on his head,” Uhrig said.

“We’ve been able to handle the case by phone up this point,” Sonner said. “But there were face-t0-face meeting scheduled.”

Both attorneys repeatedly refused to reveal Zimmerman’s location but insinuated that he is no longer in Florida. “You can stop looking in Florida. look much further away than that,” Uhrig said.
