Delonte West Sticks His Finger In Gordon Haywards Ear
Delonte West administered a self-described “Wet Willie” to Jazz guard Gordon Hayward during Utah’s 123-121 triple overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. West received a technical foul from the officials, a benching from Mavs coach Rick Carlisle, boos from the Utah fans and a dressing down from the Jazz announcers–but was not ejected from the game–for the immature act. Discipline from the NBA office may be next.
“What is that about? That is the low of lows of sportsmanship,” Jazz announcer Craig Bolerjack said. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that in professional sports. A finger in the ear?”
“I was giving him a Wet Willie, that’s all,” West said, per the Dallas Morning News.
Technically, it wasn’t a Wet Willie since there was no saliva on West’s finger as he inserted into Hayward’s ear.
“I went over the line,” West said. “I saw some lint in his hair, and I wanted to get it out for him. Seriously, we were like two warriors out there. But I forgot the NBA is a gentlemen’s game. They want us to battle and scrap, but they want us to do it nicely. …”
“It’s just part of the game,” he added.
Which game is that Delonte?? Must be I’m-A-Sucka-Azz-Ninja-ball, you’re a hall of famer in that game…smh
