Poor BeyBey was robbed! She didn’t even make the list.
Rihanna Named To TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In The World List
Well it happened. TIME put Rihanna 8th on their list of the 100 most influential people in the WORLD! A lot of folks are already up in arms over one of the worst “role models” in entertainment being named so high on the “Most Influential List” especially because she’s collaborated with Chris Brown twice since getting beaten bloody, isn’t shy about shedding her clothes and is open about her use (or abuse, depending on who you’re asking) of substances (kush and alcohol).
Here’s an excerpt from the story Stella McCartney penned for TIME about RihRih:
I can’t remember when Rihanna and I first met, but I think it was near a dance floor and one of her tracks was playing. The thing I remember was her being a normal person, not what you’d expect of a young woman about to take over the world. She’s one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride. She works hard, very hard. She gives to her fans, friends and foundation not just herself but her energy and spirit.
Rihanna, 24, goes out of her way to support the people she believes in. She is one of the few people I know in that world of fame and celebrity who aren’t all about themselves. She’ll give a real part of herself to an ordinary person she may meet, and that’s rare.
She’s definitely given us a lot of her “spirit” if that’s what you want to call it.
In any case we wanted to hear your thoughts about whether RihRih should have been placed so high on an “Influencer” list (above Barack Obama, Chelsea Handler and Hillary Clinton).
We can think of a lot of other folks we’d have preferred to see on this list — Solange, Oprah, Shonda Rhimes are just a few who come to mind. Do you think Rihanna deserves to be on the list? Why or why not???
