Vanessa Williams made a statement recently on Disney’s High School Musical chick Vanessa Hudgens and her nude photographs that have been all over the internet. She tells People:
“She’s got talent and she’s professional, and those are the things that’ll help her survive in life. You know, welcome to the lesson of hard knocks. She got her first big one right now.”
Vanessa who is now 44, took some racy nude photos herself back in the day. Here is what she said to People when the naked photos of her feeling on another broad in Penthouse surfaced:
“I am not a lesbian and I am not a slut, and somehow I am going to make people believe me.”

Anyhoo, Vanessa’s pics were racy, I saw them for the first time only 2 years ago.
If she can bounce back and have the career she has, anyone can (bounce back, that is).

I’ve been following Vanessa’s career since she was first crowned Miss America in 1983. I even got to meet her briefly. It was literally two weeks before the scandal broke in 1984 (And she was even more stunning in person). Anyway, I don’t remember Vanessa ever turning her back on the black community or vice versa.
I give Vanessa mad props for her tenacity and ambition. A lesser person would not have been able to come back from what she went through. The scandal was huge back in the day! When it broke, I and a whole lot of others just knew then that that was the last we were going to see and hear of Vanessa Williams. Two decades later, she showed us.
