Michelle Obama On The Daily Show
President Obama could have just been another burnout. In an appearance on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” Tuesday night, First Lady Michelle Obama said it took the President’s father dying and some motivation from his mother to get on the right path.
“By the time he was in college, like so many young people, he realized he could do more with his life,” she told Stewart. While Michelle Obama did not specifically address his drug use, the President admitted in his memoir to smoking marijuana and using “a little blow.”
Stewart’s questions were pegged to a new book by David Mariniss that claims the President was a party-hard marijuana smoker in his youth.
The First Lady credited his parents with getting her future husband back on course. “He had a mother that was saying ‘you’re so gifted, you’re so talented,’ and would slap him on the head (and say) ‘get yourself together,” she said.
But it wasn’t until his father died, she told Stewart, that he truly grew up. “That was one of those click-in moments,” she said. “And he really buckled down, he transferred schools, went to Columbia and thought about how to use life to the fullest.”
The First Lady appeared on the Comedy Central show as part of a media blitz this week.
Damn, “little blow” sounds like he was on that yayo as well…good thing he got his life together.
