You make some interesting points however, despite the fact that this is considered by SOME as simply “entertainment”, you must admit that many people are probably complaining because unlike any other race, black folks often fail to clearly differentiate between entertainment and reality. The inherent danger in Shawna dancing the way she does is unlike white “serial killers or pedophiles”, we as black people often tailor our lives after those in entertainment. Our community is severely lacking in role models and leadership, and family, whom play the role of “role model” amongst other races. I say all this to day that a disproportionate amount of “our people” copy the every word and action of our hip hop/r&b entertainers, thus making this type of behavior have a larger impact on us than you average playboy bunny. Yes we could be more accepting of each other, but we also need to evolve as a people in terms of what we find “entertaining”. The bottom line is that we have always been defensive about our behaviors, rather than look at them honestly, which is why she is “shake dancing” on stage at a rap concert. My opinion: it was remotely entertaining/interesting, but any disrespectful comments that she gets she deserves. Let us not defend something that has little to no positive impact on the already somewhat disrespectful way black men view black women. We have a serious problem in this area and this does nothing but perpetuate that.
