(clearing throat) Hmm, is it just me or did your response to Anon and other likeminded people come across as an angry, random soliliquy? Let’s ask “504.” If you don’t want me responding to you then stop quoting me and mentioning my name. If you don’t want to respond to me, then don’t. And the word boycott didn’t come out of my mouth. If Tracey put out something that was quality, I might go see it. Are people only their “soap boxes” when you don’t like what they have to say, or are you one of those people that likes to say whatever and not expect anyone to say boo back to you in return? these are some ignorant comments, what’s wrong with black people??? just give credit when & where it’s due, why are we constantly hating & trying to bring each other down, it’s pathetic. this is one reasons so much pessimism exist in the black community, let’s try something new & different, like building each other up for a change!

Thanks for the feedback and I guess we are on the same page when it comes to the need for diversity in media…period! I may be mis-reading your 2nd statement but it seems that you are putting a great deal of power in the hands of one person. Tracey did not create mysogyny, racisim or the negative depiction of african americans. The media creatd that machine a long time ago and utilized its creation to their profit every chance they could and still does. Yes, you could argue that there is a limited number of diverse roles due the projects that come from Tracey production company…but there are those that could argue that if it were not for the roles created by her company many of the actors in these movies (no matter how derogatory we may find them) would not be working at all. I think that many actors/actresses have broken the glass ceiling and have proven themselves talented enough to play roles that were not written for african americans and have silently proven this simple fact…talent is talent! I still argue that it is necessary to stomach the nonsense such as “Whose Your Caddys” of the industry in order to pave the way for the eventual “Greys Anatomy” to come along.
