Tina Turner had it on and poppin while on stage at Madison Square Garden last night. Now with all due respect to the living legend, we can’t help but to wonder when Mrs. Turner will finally decide to hang it up. It’s starting to look like time is finally catching up with this sassy old diva. SMH.

Today artists are manufactured, you given a look, you given a sound, your album is seasonal, so you have to record another record in a year and a half after release otherwise some ‘pretty -no-talent’ artist will come up and take your spot.
Tina Turner is her own brand, she holds her own, granny or not, do your thing Tina, and Do it till you cant do it no more… Recently, Songbird Miriam Makeba died straight after getting off stage singing in Italy.. that’s the true sign of staying true to your calling and if Tina still got it going and is still entertaining as she is now, I’m not fronting, I will still go to her concert and shake what my mama gave me!!!

Yall need to leave Tina ALONE…I attended this concert in Philadelphia and it was PHENOMINAL…Tina is 69 years old and I bet she looks better than most of the folk on here. She performed for 2 hours NON STOP with the exception of a 30 minute intermission….The next time any of you can run around the stage in no less than 3 inch Manolo Blahnik heels for 2 complete hours let me know….Other than that…Leave TINA alone!!!!!!! This is Tina’s first tour in 8 years and it sold out here in Toronto in 1 hour with tickets starting at $150.00. I tried to get tickets in 2000 but that sold out in 8 minutes! Gloria Ruben left ER just to have the opportunity to tour with her. I heard she performed for 3 hours and it was great! People have been dying for her to tour again. As much I would love to see some of the new and upcoming artist some of the best concerts are from older artist because they give you what you paid for, a great show with great music. I love the music that’s out now but I hate waiting in some sweaty club for someone to arrive at 2am and perform 3 songs.
Please some respect for Tina Turner. She won’t stop because she lives for the music ans that’s what we call P*****ION.

She retired years ago, but the fans begged her for years to come back, and she gave them what they wanted. It doesn’t matter how old she is. LOL, after I saw What’s Love Got to Do With It when it came out, I wanted to learn more about Tina, so I read her autobiography, which gave a lot of personal details about her abusive relationship with Ike (It was much worse than depicted in the movie, and that was awful). I think it’s interesting how her music has evolved over the years, and now she’s an international icon.
On a silly note, but for the longest, I thought Tina was born overseas because of her accent. She has a very distinctive voice.

And Laurence Fishburne was so good as Ike that I disliked him for a long time after seeing the film.

I haven’t read I, Tina, but I’m sure it’s a multifaceted look at her life, and it’s very detailed and thorough. She is a fascinating story, and definitely iconic internationally. Her rise to superstardom in What’s Love Got to Do With It, is a result of self-charity and inner strength that she ultimately possessed. IMO. She was tied down to Ike emotionally and financially for years, and she eventually had the courage to leave him with thirty-six cents to her name. Now, she ‘s worth millions.

I remember going to the theater with great anti*****tion, and leaving sorely disappointed. It didn’t feel genuine to me, and the whole time I thought that’s Will Smith pretending to be Muhammad Ali. He wasn’t immersed into the character as Denzel was with Malcolm (I lost all sense of time watching that film — it was that authentic).

I went to the concert and was blown away. She performed almost for 3 hours singing and dancing. I got my money’s worth. That was one helluva show.

That’s very true. It didn’t fully do justice to the life of Muhammad Ali, and the dramatization was partially met. I just felt like his life was crammed into my brain. Where was the humor/wit of Ali? It didn’t feel like a celebration of life, and I didn’t leave the theatre inspired or invigorated. Now, Jamie Foxx’s depiction of Ray Charles was exceptional.

Don’t you mean generation Y? People from generation X were born between 1965 and 1976. Most of us don’t listen to the ***** out today we grew up on 80s music including Tina Turner during her Private Dancer era. Tina doesn’t look bad at all at 69. I like the Mad Max look but not the face she’s making here. I don’t know about the Beyonce comparisons because her songs don’t stand the test of time. She sings in-the-moment type songs. A lot of these younger artists are just making disposible music.

Yes, his eyes were covered. Jamie also received lessons from Ray Charles (before he expired). I believe The Making of Ray shows this briefly. Sharon Warren (Ray’s mom in the film) did a spectacular job for her portrayal of Aretha Robinson considering that was her acting debut.

Hey, I went to the concert yesterday, and i’m only 18 and it was great. Actually it was my grandmother who got me into listening to tina turner songs when i was young.let me break down the concert 1 time.
Tina came down to the stage from a 40 foot high platform, ran back and forth on the arm of a narrow metal crane above the audience with no 1 to catch her, had fireworks exploding everywhere, hell most 69 year olds would be afraid of falling off of that crane and breaking a bone. plus as was mentioned tina performed for 2 hours straight.
okay the costume in the pic was supposed to symbolize her character Aunty Entity in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. it was supposed to be theatrical,in the muiddle of singing the song she rose 30 feet up intpo the air above the crowd on a hydraulic platform, and then fireworks started exploding all around tina as she finished the song.
Her sylist should be murdered!!! Poor Ms. Tina. Wasn’t she just on Oprah like last year looking hot… can you really age THAT much THAT fast ?!? This makes you wanna hit the club on a Tuesday.. I’m only young once.

Ms Turner is a legend, she can still headline her own show at Madison Square Garden and people come out to support her. That says a lot right there, some of these younger artist, cannot headline their own show at a hugh arena such as Madison Square Garden because they can’t sell enough tickets. As long as people come to see her, she should perform as long as desires.

i went to the concert in the midwest and it was FIRE. she out performed most if not all of the younger performers i’ve seen. and she looks damn good. if we had real pictures of y’all *****es i bet the comments would be much more forgiving.
