Michael Jackson “The King Of Pop” Died 3 Years Ago Today June 25, 2009

It’s hard to believe that it has been 3 years since “MJ gone, our ni**a dead”. We can still vividly remember the day that it all went down and how shocked and saddened we were when the announcement hit the wire. Since fateful day, there have been a plethora of celebrations, commemorations, and changes in the lives of those who loved Michael most, his family.

Take a look back at the last three years since Michael’s passing.

Although MJ’s memorial service gave us goosebumps with some of it’s phenomenal performances, it was also one of the saddest things we ever watched on TV. When Michael’s children took the stage to speak there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Michael’s producer, mentor and friend Berry Gordy struggled to speak through his pain.

MJ’s children Paris, Blanket, Michael Jr., immortalized their father in cement outside of the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollyweird.

In addition to that, a Cirque Du Soleil show was dedicated to the memory of the greatest performer the world has ever seen.

Paris Jackson is growing up to a be beautiful young lady. Although her aunt Janet has misgivings about her career choice, Paris has landed her first film role in ‘Lundon’s Bridge And The Three Keys’. Here she sat down with Oprah Winfrey and discussed life growing up with her uber-famous father, and life moving forward without him.

All the drama that surrounded Michael Jackson’s life and career while he was among us pales in comparison to the events that transpired posthumously with his physician and primary care-giver Dr. Conrad Murray. Dr. Murray was sentenced to 4 years in prison for Jackson’s death after a lengthy trial showed that he misused the drugs propofol and lorazepam which ultimately led to Michael’s death.

Jackson’s hometown of Gary, Indiana made his impact on the small midwest town official after the unveiling of a marble monument in the front lawn of the Jackson’s childhood home.

In addition to the monument, the street outside the house was changed to “Jackson Family Blvd”.

MJ’s sister Janet has had her own weight struggles in the past, but after getting a big check from Nutrisystem she got back in fighting shape in no time. Must be nice…

Miss Jackson-If-You-Nasty also kicked her shorter, less-attractive side-kick boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, to the curb.

Michael Jackson had a sculpture made of sand at Borsighallen mall in Berlin, Germany. The sculpture “A Tribute To Michael Jackson” was carved out of 200 tons of sand within 10 days.

These guys are REALLY good to have done all this with sand.

The first time Michael Jackson did the “Moonwalk” dance was on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever on March 25, 1983. This moment changed everything, and we do mean EVERYTHING!

Obviously, Michael Jackson’s career is filled with accolades, highlights, and iconic moments. However, in our opinion, none of which can match the moment that Jackson joined legends James Brown, and Prince on stage at the Beverly Theater in Los Angeles in 1983.

If you have never seen this video it is as amazing as it is hilarious (thanks to greatest Prince entrance of all time).
