That no-good Magic Johnson who turned his back on Obama in favor of that shady Hillary and stacks recently had this to say to the Wallstreet Journal:

WSJ: Does the fact that we have a black president-elect mean it will be any easier for black entrepreneurs to borrow money for investment in urban areas?

Mr. Johnson: I don’t think it will be easier. What will happen is that people will look more at us. The world’s eyes have been opened to the idea that minorities can play at any level, including the highest level. It remains to be seen if banks and financial institutions will invest more with minorities. But you need a solid plan and everything that everybody else has. You can’t come in if you don’t come in right. You have to show a return on investment, how they’ll make money from investing in you. Nothing changes there. African-Americans may be more fashionable now – that’s how trends start. You win a championship, and people want to copy your strategy. We’re going to be in now. But it won’t be any easier, no

    I agree with Mr. Johnson

  • da darkness

True dat. As this dollar shrinks less money credit capital to loan, thus small business’ no jobs, consequentaly a doomed economy.

He is not saying anything inaccurate. It has to make business sense. The business environment is getting more and more transparent, competition more and more fierce, customers are more and more savvy (some would even say more and more cynical)… So the days of “I can get in, just because” whether you make that argument being white and having “long money” or black and having “long entitlement” is just as erroneous as it has always been – except now nobody is buying it.

Let’s be educated, empowered and knowledgeable about business. A good idea and a crappy plan never made anybody any money — whether black, white, male or female.

Ain’t nothing but the truth in it.

I’m offended that the reporter would even ask such a stupid question. Like black people are looking for a hook-up like its McDonalds’s. I don’t want a hand out but I do want fair opportunity.

But in retrospect with the racism that was clearly shown during this election there should be a form of affirmative action taken for minority business owners. I didn’t go that route.

  • Raquel26

I know that chubby mutha____a dont have AIDS or HIV no more.

I thought you got skinny off having that disease?

On the other hand, I did hear that there was a cure for AIDS. Company was located in Germany. And it was like 1.2 million a pint (of blood). Or something to that effect.

  • pm

    sound right to me

  • Oshie – freak ho freak ho touch your knees to your elbows

I would say you could be mad if he was a McCain supporter, like, oh I don’t know, Hannibal.
But at least Hillary’s a democrat.

  • BE

Magic gave the right answer, Obama is not here for us to ride his coat tails but to show that we are capable of anything. If you have your business straight you can own a home or business. It is not always as easy as it is with other races but it can be done. Make a plan and plan to work.

  • CGJ

    He’s absolutely right.

I hope a lot of people don’t believe that having an African American president will make things easier for African Americans.

People may disagree, but I think things were easier for African Americans pre-Barack Obama because the expectations were lower.

Barack is not going to make anybody’s life better – what Barack should do is inspire African Americans to want to do better.

  • BE

Hey Oshie – did you finish studying?

  • Vee

While that pic makes me feel sick, ugh…
I do agree with Magic’s comments. For once he said something that I find totally accurate: the
burden is always on our community to prove ourselves in monetary and business matters.
However, the fact that Magic didn’t support Obama strikes a sour chord with me :-(

  • BG

    Tru-Dat.

  • Talley-B

and another thing, black folks should not think just becuase we finally have a black president that we are going to have it easier. if anything, it will be harder because of the spitefulness of this nation. even when it comes to getitng a job, these privately owned businesses still have these crazy statutes to keep black people from advancing on a job. that barrier has yet to been broken. don’t get me wrong, i’m not taking anything away from the significance of Mr. obama, i’m just saying that we have a looooooong way to go. it’s going to take hard work, dedication, and our faith in God to change some of these stone hearts that don’t want to give minorities a fair chance…

  • Redd Tony aka Earth Sign “Simplicity is true Sophistication”

    I concur Mr. Johnson

  • Reign

He’s absolutely right, but I am disappointed that a business man like himself didn’t support one of his own. How could he not see the power in President Elect Obama. I’m inclined to think it had something to do with FEAR of a Black man. Mr. Obama’s Presidency will not be a cure all or make a lot of difference in the lives of Black folks. We need to do that for ourselves, so what his Presidency gives us is hope and inspiration. It opens our eyes to our true power. It’s up to us as a community to now begin doing more to help ourselves and our communities. He’s putting the right people in the right place for the right reason, would Hillary have done that, would McCain. They wouldn’t have even thought that way.

President Obama is part of a movement, an evolution into a new time period. Unfortunately, Black people have a way of trying to make their leaders (pastors, etc.) GOD , I think that kind of thinking is what keeps our growth stunted because we want somebody else to do the work and if things don’t work in their favor, they’ll have someone else to blame. If we’d only open our eyes and recognize our true worth and power, we wouldn’t be sitting around thinking in terms of will Obama’s Presidency save Black people. We have the power to save ourselves, we are the Mighties of the Mighty…WHEN will we understand this. We excel in every single thing we do, yes, we make mistakes, we’re not perfect, but we are indeed a powerful people. We now have a President and First Lady who looks like us in a house that our ancestors built, now what you gon’ do?

  • DR.FUNK

HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!! Mattafak’-since Black entrepreneurs have always done with less-this is a golden opportunity to step up & “show how it’s done”.The 230 year affirmative action plan for White business success has basically crumbled.NOW is always a good time to start a business.Just keep starting them until one-or more of them makes a profit.Either keep it & make more…or sell it & start another one.Even something as simple as cleaning floors & emptying trash at office parks can pay six figure sums in a short amount of time.(under two years).People who take risks get rich.

  • Chanel Shades

I dont care abou that. What I want to know is who gave him AIDS and whats his name. I have not heard of any groupies dying of HIV so it had to be from a man.

  • Raquel26

Obama will be the first and ONLY African-American president of the United States.

He falls in the bloodline that you have to be apart of to even be considered a candidate. Look up the Rothschild bloodline, Walt Disney, etc.

I just wish we didnt hype up African-American kids saying that they could be president. Because in essence, they cant. Sorry.

  • KEDA

I DIDNT REALIZE HOW BIG MAGIC IS BUT I DEF AGREE WITH HIM AND @ CHANEL SHADES, ME AND MY BF WAS TALKIN ABOUT THAT YESTERDAY–I WONDER TOO

  • Phenomenal Me… Ms. Dee

Although I don’t agree with his political views (choosing Hill), I do agree with his fundamentally correct statement regarding finances. I’m sure he knows what he’s talking about, since he is a great business man. I don’t think anybody believes that since we now have an African American President the financial flood gates will open for minorities and we’ll have access to revenue we never had before. However, I feel much better knowing that our country is going to be run by a person with compassion for regular citizens and their financial struggles.

  • Raquel26

@Doc…..too over the top for ya this morning! lol

My comments dont neccessarily agree with the actual topic at hand.

But neither do other people’s posts…talking about their weekend under a post discussing the death’s of JHud’s fam.

In any event, I read alot. And this is true. Look it up. I may not be quoting verbatim, but bascially to be considered a candidate for president of the United States, you need to kinda be apart of a “royal family” so to speak. And by being so, you are more systematically chosen because there is an plan that is being acted out RIGHT NOW. Obama has given us a reason to celebrate and be happy and cognizant of ourselves and our accomplishments.

That, and the fact that the Republicans didnt have enough money this time around, to steal the election.

  • Raquel26

@Delic….I’m a grown a** woman and I dont call no chickenhead “sugar walls”. We all know that only hoes refer to their female genitalia on the net.

Mind too small to come up with a better screen name?

    LOL @ sugar walls……dumba**.

  • Vee

@ Sugar Walls…LMAO-and good morning to you too.
@ rachel26: Since none of us can predict the future how DARE you say what our kids can or cannot be??? Prez Obama (I don’t have to wait until the inauguration to respect his title)is living proof
that ANYTHING is possible: despite the one-track mindedness, ignorance and racism that is still
alive and well in these (not so) United States. A prime example of the ignorance he rose above is your STUPID statement. You need one of two things: either a hug or a psychiatric evaluation. Why not cover all of your bases and get both.

  • alexandra

wow, he has come a long way from his HIV days….
is he still H.I.V positive, he sure looks healthy to be an H.I.V carrier!!

Breaking the Psychological Chains of Slavery by Na’im Akbar.

OR….you can keep to your Superhead books. Easy to read and right up you alley…ms sugar walls.

  • thatbrutha

    TRUE MAGIC TRUE..
    But he’s suspect.

  • Raquel26

@Vee…..no, honey. I need another site where smart, educated people dwell.

Only ignorant black people who dont read tend to go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and assume and read between the lines to make their argumentative statement. It has no foundation; so therefore, no response is needed.

    See ya!

  • Tealeaf

Besides OBama being black, he is a Harvard educated lawyer, first black to be president of the Harvard review, taught constitution law…this man is well-spoken for, knows the law, knows the senate…

He is ready, more qualified then George Bush was..

    HI VEEEEEE! :D

    GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BeanTown

    Well said Magic.

Why does he have to be called no good because he did not conform? His quote is very logical.

  • Its6amHoGetOut

You cant knock Magic, He’s one of the only black athletes to invest his money in black communities, his theatres eventhough they’re in depressed areas are really nice, he has gyms (but I dont think he uses them) and a bunch of starbucks and fatburgers, all in the hood. I think Magic is worth somewhere north of $500 million, he has enough to rise that aids virus right outta him.

  • Doc

    @Raquel26

American Royal family bloodline that includes Benjamin Harrison, JFK, GHW Bush, and Barack Obama?
Too much for this Canadian’s brain…I will defer on that one.

People don’t believe that magic does not have the HIV virus! SMH

  • Raquel26

@beantown…..I agree with his statement as well.

You didnt know that if you have your own opinion that you’re considered a “hater”??. LOL

    Seriously though.

I know some black people that didnt vote for Obama. And they have the same kinds of statements.

  • eveinthegarden

Not knocking what he said–O never promised free cheese.

No excuse for Magic to be getting that fat though.

  • Raquel26

    LOL@suga…..

    Cute.

I dont have time to play back and forth with word games. And I am happy that you “called me out” so to speak. I dont get mad babygirl…..you do. Hence, your childlike vocab towards the end.

    Grow up!

  • Vee

    @ Sugar Walls-I’m WAVING BACK!!!How are you-just saw your post. I was so busy checkn’ Rachel’s self-loathing a$$ I didn’t scroll up. Take care of my light-weight will ya–I have a meeting :-)

  • UPTOWN

the man is absolutely right. obama has won and that is a major accomplishment, but we are still gon be treated like the little negroes that could at the end of the day.

  • Raquel26

    @Vee….great. Have a good meeting!!

And suga cant shut this down. And to me, it sounds like you’re the one in need of help. You know….when they say that people have to put others down, its only to make them look and feel good.

So, if this is what you need to do boo-boo, do you.

  • Raquel26

You remind of girls in high school that once they get a sidekick, they act tougher than nails.

    Cute.

  • liynnt

He can vote for who ever he want I my self wanted Hilary in Office. I like what she has to say about getting my brother and family back here in the states and I love her plan on heath care. I am glad to see Obama made it in he is a great man and will be a great leader. But that had nothing to do with my way in voteing.
Get of Magic’s back the only thing he did wrong was stay to long at the candy stand in his movie theather.

  • Raquel26

I see that I cant converse with mud buckets, so I’m off to the next post.

    See ya!

And make sure your sentences are correct.

    Its..”an ignorant statement indeed”.

You are exactly right. I just wish more people researched the New World Order, Council on Foreign Relations, Fema Camps, and the plans our own government has for us. There is really no difference in Republican and Democrat it only exists to make us think we have a choice. Also look up Skull and Bones and secret societies and the affiliations of George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and John Kerry. You can also find many politicians discussing the New World Order: Bill and Hilliary Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, ect. Everyone needs to wake up, but they won’t. Why do you think Bush keeps talking about a “global” economy. I think Obama will be the one to finally implement the New World Order and we will all be in trouble. This is not B.S., this is totally real, but I’m sure no one will pay attention until its too late. The United Nations was put together for this particular reason and its all to enslave us and make a one world government as well as significantly reducing the population.

    @The Business Explosion Coach

-Yup real talk there , doesnt matter what business your in – given the state of things today currently you need to work twice or three times as hard to stay even or ahead. Competition is too widespread. Magic like others still probably wanted to support Hil and Bil cause of the kickbacks and favorable benefits

@Redd Tony – What up Homie

  • And…..(with 5 dots)

I PARTIALLY agree with Magic on this. Yes, having a tight business plan that’s going to make the banks an investment it true. HOWEVER, there are still a lot of racist financial policies that will keep us out of the game, no matter who our president is or how good your business plan may be.

Magic came in the door with millions in cash and assets, that the banks could take for collateral. The average small business owner doesn’t have that type of collateral. Also, if you want to open a business in the hood, redlining is still alive and well. Most Black-owned businesses are turned down for business loans or line of credit than they have been approved. While Magic makes it sounds as simple as 1-2-3, it ain’t and it won’t ever be until the rules/policies are designed for EVERYONE and not just for white folks.

    @jonjon23:

OMG!!! I finally found a smart one! You truly do not know how elated you have made me. Not many black people know of this and its hard to try and open eyes that are encrusted with lies.

And when I do…..I get not-so smart comments from certain people who just believe what they are told by the media. I dont.

I’ve also read many books on Skull and Bones, The New World Order, Illuminati, bloodlines, etc. Even bought a book called The Protocols of the Learned Elders Of Zion.

(and sidenote: certain females cant comprehend this kind of information; their brains go crazy, so they have to resort back to Vibe or Zane books).

In any event, I’m happy that you understand where I’m coming from.

What other sites do you frequent? Maybe we can have a offline convo sometimes.

I’m sure it would be interesting, to say the least.

  • Redd Tony aka Earth Sign “Simplicity is true Sophistication”

    @TxHustla

What up dogg, how you be?

  • Raquel26

    @Redd…lol

The truth hurts so bad! But yeah, I’m sure you have. I’ve also noticed when certain black people dont understand, they get mad, and call you all kinds of things.

I just let them stick to BET. It makes them happy.

  • Redd Tony aka Earth Sign “Simplicity is true Sophistication”

    @TxHustla

Yeah dogg, that Plaxico situatin is stupid for real..but yeah, right now precious metals in the form of coins or bars are the best way to go, because the dollar will continue to decline. The precious metals are sumn like an insurance policy if you aint left with nothing from the stock market..

  • Raquel26

Oh….and I just had to comment.

Plaxico reminds me of Cheddar Bob from 8 MILE. Didnt he do the same dumb sh_t? LOL

Peace Brah. I got your message about energy non-crisis (Lindsey Williams). I have been reading the manuscript on line (I comprehend better reading most of the time)and you right….worth the time. I always suspected that the “oil crisis” was manufactured but this spells it out in plain english. Good looks.

    @ Raquel26 & jonjon23

This is worth a look. Reading your posts tells me that it would be of interest the both of you.

  • jonjon23

    @Raquel26

I don’t claim to be the smartest or most well-read man, but I do believe that a person should be able to think for themselves. When you have media and government telling you what to think all you have to do is follow history, look at current events and read between the lines to find answers. I read bits and peices here and there, but the most telling things you can do is look at actual speeches from the past that powerful people have made and read the theories that are out there. Along with the history of America and our major wars as well as 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. The people leading us do not hold the same values or beliefs we do–that’s a fact. If you told the average person this, they would think you were one nugget short of a 6 peice. Its going to happen, I just hope it is later rather than sooner. You sound like an interesting person and if you want to talk you can get me at jugheadwill thats at yahoo intstant messenger.

  • ARTOFWAR

    UNfortunately, Magic is right.
Just because we will soon have a black President. Does not mean that if you were to walk into a bank, and ask for million dollars to start
a business. But your credit score is somewhere around a 2. and the only collateral you have is, the rims on your late model NEON.
That the bank is going to say, “oh sure.” Would you prefer that million in a cashiers check, or would you prefer it in cash?….. ARTOFWAR.

  • I love my dark kin

why is he a “no good” Just because he did not support Barack! Get over it! And he is totally right! Barack is just going to inspire black people he cannot concentrate on the african american community! Most black did not even vote! that was crazy though!

  • jonjon23

    @Redd Tony aka Earth

I honestly believe that the dollar will collapse pretty soon. We all know stocks are on a downward spiral and if the big three collapses these people will be on the threshold of accomplishing their objectives. Its crazy that we might see this in our lifetime. Since most people are in ignorant bliss, all we can do is be prepared and brace ourselves.

  • c from stl

@Reign…you better preach! I feel like passin’ a collection plate. I’ve been feeling the same way you do about how blacks tend to look at black leaders as someone that can save them. Barack’s entire message from his campaign was ‘Yes We Can’, meaning exactly the point you made… ‘what are you going to do?’. The man is gifted and an inspiration to all and I am a staunch supporter of Obama but I can’t help but cringe at how much blacks seem to revere him. The bottom line is that we should definitely see his accomplishment as an inspiration and admire the man and leader that he is but please, let his accomplishment put some fire under our behinds to do more instead of looking for everything to be done for us. Signing off…..

  • always knew

Magic made a VERY valid point. We will still have the issues that have always existed in the banking industries and in the entreprenuer’s world. There will be the same difficulties that there always was.

It’s not discrimination, if you business plan is crap…You have to be able to show and prove, how the money will be made and repaid. You will have bankers come to your jobsites and have to do extra, just to play the game. The flip side is once you get established, there isn’t anything that you can’t do. Mind over matter…Everybody keep getting it, while the getting is good, you should be getting it…Those that don’t or won’t only has their self to blame….

  • always knew

that was supposed to be your business plan…

  • derek

this is for Racquel26 maybe look at the www,davidicke.com he exposes some truth which goes deeper than having a black president. And yes he is part of the same bloodlines as as all ov them

  • Panther (Those who know don’t tell and those who tell don’t know!)

Obviously Magic is a true Democrat and like a true Democrat should he voted for the candidate that he thought had the best chance to beat McCain. He was wrong and I am sure he regrets not having more faith in America’s willingness to elect a Black man. All he is saying now is that there will be NO free rides for us because Obama is president…. nothing more.

@ Raquel26 – Please stop flaunting your education and impying that those you disagree with are small minded and ghetto, because frankly it makes you look the same.

  • memchee

    He’s right!

You still need a reasonable business plan, and have to be able to bring some form of currency to the table.

  • Capital G

Veiled threats and conspiracy theory aside, I believe the winds of change are upon us. Economic collaspe is imminent if drastic measures are not put in place immediately. It will be like the “domino affect” and one global market after another will fall until the gold standard will be the only commodity worth trading. Yes, secret societies do exist yet, they have not seized power outright…why? Is there a plot to purposely ruin the ecomomy? Is Obama the “anti-christ?” Let’s not lose our heads people huh? I don’t sleep well lately and I fear for the sake of my children what is to become of America. This stark reality makes petty name calling and cyber beef trite and ineffectual. We are the sum total of our collective wisdom. In this spirit we hope to survive the grim days ahead. Magic Johnson will be “ok” if things get worse…will you?

  • afrogenetics

Why is a traiter because he supported Clinton? Before Barack was even in the picture Black ppl loved them some Bill Clinton so wtf you gotta be a traitor now. Im sure when it was time to cast his ballot he choose Obama so get off his nuts. Your website is no better that racist FOX NEWS when it comes to covering the election it really digusts me

  • roni

Your narrow minded for calling him “NO GOOD” because he supported Hillary. At least he had the “GUTS” to stand for the person he supported which is more than I can say for a lot of FOLKS.

Maybe you should focus on the many things he’s done and continues to do to support the community in LA.

  • MissBlaze43

Oh, yeah, OF COUSE Magic is telling the truth. And like somebody said, he was the ONLY ONE who contributed back to the community IN A BIG WAY!!!

He went WAY BEYOND taking the little children in the good to amusement parks and having block parties for the kids.

THAT AIN’T GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY! That’s just some stupid GHETTO shyt.

No, Magic did it better than most and faught to get those theaters put in our neighborhoods / communities. His money will always be long, ’cause he how to flip it and turn it around to something else other than wearing ALL HIS MONEY AROUND HIS NECK!!!

These rappers need to take note!!!

Well we need to stop seeing ourselves as trends, and the “IT” minority. That ideology is stupid, yet understandable, if you read Slave Narratives, and you will know where blacks get the whole mindset of trying to appease white folks, and trying to prove their self-worth. And it’s not just us that do that. All minorities , everywhere do things to be accepted, liked, loved by white folks. And it’s sad. But, the sad thing is that if we see ourselves as nothing more than trends, fashionable like a tricket that white folks take out and play with, and get tired of it, and move on to something else, than we really don’t have self-worth.

We are a great people, when The Indians were killed off , we survived. We have made contributions to the world, especially to this country, the likes are unprecendented(sp). And no, I’m not talking about music, I’m talking about inventions, history, politics, etc. We are a great people, we became senators, advisors, entrepeneurs, founded cities, we had our own Wall Street. The lists goes on and on. And those accomplishments were never trends. We were achieving when we were mere slaves. A slave designed Washington D.C. Now, we are today creating a new era. And Obama isn’t the icing on the cake, he’s just another piece of the cake. For, throughout all the garbage that we have , we still define our greatness. And the black entrepenuers are struggling right now because everyone is struggling.

For the record, I hope that American citizens are selected first for the new jobs the Obama campaign plans on creating, because we are suffering. Illegal immigrants should wait until we get our people employed.

Maybe rich blacks should form their own venture capital and investment companies.
Why should they have to sit around and wait for things from other people?
Blacks need to form credit unions and hedge funds that cater to wealth creation and transfer down the generations.
Stop conspicuous consumption where possible and build the “community” savings rate.

  • Triple T

He should have answered the question more correctly by replying

“What type of dumbass question is this? Barack is going to be the next president of the US, not of a bank.”

Instead he answered the question like it was a fashion question. Are blacks in season now?

Celebrities need to think before they speak and then be able to stand up for what they say.

He needs to sit his ass down and close one of those damn Starbucks.

    Why should it?
Why should black success be dependent on every last White not being racist?

We need to stop talking about racism and start talking about achievement–and not only in sports and entertainment.

That is the only thing I do not agree with. Our neighborhoods do not need theaters–they need libraries.
    They need parks.
    They need policemen.
    They need law and order.

I think what magic said was just right there ain’t going to be a racial issue around just because Obama won doesn’t mean he’s going to be unfair he’ll do things the right way either black white etc they’re all the same everything should be fair.

Knoxus is right on point. 1) What does voting for Clinton have to do with his statement on Obama and business as a black person? 2) When was the law passed that required everyone to vote according to their race?

  • c from stl

    @tiray…. I agree whole-heartedly…

    @Jacksmack

BLACK ARE INDDED SMARTER THAN HOW YOU PERCEIVE!

It’s not that Majic doesn’t have the right to endorse a white candidate. It’s the fact that (this) election was the MOST important FOR THE MINDSET OF BLACK AMERICA SINCE THE HISTORY OF MAN!

Remember that trying to play on a playing field that you ddn’t make WILL NOT make it level!

What would Fredrick Douglas/Harriet Tubman think of this moment?

  • justdafacts

support one of his own!!!!!!!!! He supported who he wanted to. If whitey supported his own Obama would not be in office! We cry racism if the white man supports a white man but we expect a black man to support a black man because of color and we wonder why the race card is gettin played out and people are tired of hearng it!!

  • Bohwe

I totally agree with the education posts.
    1. Black folks are a joke. We are the only race that put a stigma on kids who wanted to learn and achieve as “trying to be white”. Probably some illerate loser came up with that, so he wouldn’t fill left out.
2.Why do black folks worry more about trends than education?
3.We are impressed when Magic builds theaters, fast food restarurants, yet we said nothing about trying to fund an independent libary or learning center, yet we jump and down, whenever a celebrity opens up a Dance Studio. Easiest thing in the world is teach a nigger to dance.
3.We get upset with Bill Cosby, yet find nothing wrong when a rapper sells that garbage to the world, and indirectly lable it as black culture.
4.We don’t give our kids direction and motivate them towards higher education, spend less money on educational tools, than we do on cars, clothes, jewelery.
    5. If an inner city school would put emphasize on actually teaching and giving discipline to kids, rather than socializing and not doing a thing, our kids would improve academically, socially. We give black kids no direction, and then when the system/state lable them as ADD, ADHD, we gladly medicate the kids.

    Black folks are a joke.

And my former highschool English Literature teacher said that the only reason why Majic was allowed the opportunity to build his BHills Magic Theatre was because it keeps black folks from going to the white neighborhoods.
