lol @your name. You make some good points about many people being legends. Honestly I wouldn’t call Beyonce a legend because being a legend has to deal with longevity. Along with longevity comes a story and what your contribution was to the music business, not a popularity contest which people often mix up. People like Tina, Aretha, NAtalie Cole,LEna Horne, Dorothy Dandridge,Mahalia JAckson, and newly Mariah hit the music biz by storm and have lasted years within the music business constantly breaking records and racial barriers. Their oldest songs are still being played today in traditions where families p***** them down through generations. I’m not saying that Beyonce can’t possibly be a legend, but just not yet in only 11years. She hasn’t done anything new in this music biz, but sell big amounts and have a good marketing team. As she gets older hopefully she will do some more influential work. I know many older artists because they were played in my grandmother and great grandmother’s houses which they p*****ed down to me.

I think a TRUE Legend has the power to move people with there music and there presences. It’s not necessarily about being the best singer or the best performer. It’s also about innovation. Bring something new to the game or change the way people think. Makes music that will be around 20 years from now. Beyonce simply has not done that. Beyonce doesn’t get half the credit she deserves. To call Beyonce a living legend is an insult. Tina paved (and is still paving) the way for talented singers. If Beyonce could actually sing it would be different….maybe. Beyonce has a good work ethic, sells units and has a great publicist that keeps her relevant. But she’s slowing approaching the “Mariah Carey” zone of being overexposed and in the press for doing nothing. At least she’s a hell of lot better than habitual lip-sync-er Britney Spears. Beyonce is a good performer and artist. You will not know if someone is a legend until the next generation. IMO We have to see how her music influences other artists, and if she creates songs people want to listen to decades after the hits are made. Kanye is entitled to make his opinion about him and beyonce being a legend. He can shout it to the rooftop if he wants to, but it will not change my opinion. I think he is telling everybody he and Beyonce are legend, so everybody will start calling him and beyonce living legends. In addition, he is probably getting special treatment from Jay-Z by always talking about his wife, which is so sad (have to be close friends “Big Brother”). Kanye will not be Kanye without putting his foot in his mouth LOL. I get tired of hearing Kanye and Beyonce talking about becoming legends like Barbra Streisand and The Beatles. it’s not about the abuse..it’s about the long term effects of abuse. you have people like myself who have suffered abuse and have had to live with it…i see you have no empathy or sympathy for people who have been beat down both physically or mentally. some people turn to drugs, some people become alcoholics, some people become the abuser and some have decided that it was all just too much and have taken thier own lives. these two ladies along with countless others, chose to turn it around and make it into a triumph instead of a tragedy. it’s suffering that makes a TRUE ARTIST…AN ICON….A LEGEND, YOU DIG? That’s why her songs will remain empty because she hasn’t had any suffering…it builds character and gives you something to draw on. as a very creative person myself i find it deplorable that she would claim to be something she is not, and don’t even get me started on the copying. i know that people get certain things from others, but you tweak and twurk it until it becomes your own. imitating someone is fine, but stealing from them is despicable along with house of dereon.
