Okay normally I would stay out of an argument like this…but the haters are just too thick on the ground. First of all, this is Kanye’s opinion NOT Beyonce’s and he is entitled to it. He doesn’t have to suck up to Jay-Z, he’s an artist in his own right. There isn’t a label out there that wouldn’t take him. Next, what is a legend? Is being in an abusive/drug-filled relationship (eg Tina/Mary J) the measure of whether or not you’re music is worthwhile? you have legendary status?

it’s not about the abuse..it’s about the long term effects of abuse. you have people like myself who have suffered abuse and have had to live with it…i see you have no empathy or sympathy for people who have been beat down both physically or mentally. some people turn to drugs, some people become alcoholics, some people become the abuser and some have decided that it was all just too much and have taken thier own lives. these two ladies along with countless others, chose to turn it around and make it into a triumph instead of a tragedy. it’s suffering that makes a TRUE ARTIST…AN ICON….A LEGEND, YOU DIG? That’s why her songs will remain empty because she hasn’t had any suffering…it builds character and gives you something to draw on. as a very creative person myself i find it deplorable that she would claim to be something she is not, and don’t even get me started on the copying. i know that people get certain things from others, but you tweak and twurk it until it becomes your own. imitating someone is fine, but stealing from them is despicable along with house of dereon.

Are you so full of hate that you can’t recognize what Beyonce has accomplished in such a short period of time?

Please tell me what major accomplishments can she add to her cv? has she broken any barriers? has she sacrificed anything that would pave the way for others? no her interview with that latina magazine was indicative of the self hatred that she hides behind her pageant smile and wave..she wishes she were latina…what kind of message is she sending to her young african american female fans? and just because someone doesn’t like queen bee doesn’t mean we’re hating or full of hate, it just means simply that we don’t like her for whatever reason. personally i dont’ think she’s such a nice person based on stories i’ve heard of her throwing hissy fits at mccarran airport over a dog leash, and if you are have a diva temperment than that’ fine, but cut the sticky sweet demure crap and for once just be real. it’s hard to be something your not.

Are you going to discredit her by saying that she’s not the greatest ever because you think people sing better?
the girl can sing, no doubt and i acknowledge a person’t talent in a heartbeat. But there are plenty of people that can sing too who aren’t even in the business, so she’s not really doing anything groundbreaking, and by no means is she the greatest ever…did you take your meds?

Real talk, not every talented athlete makes it in professional sports. The world is full of great men and women who aren’t making millions of dollars a year.

Besides, being great isn’t about doing a little bit with your big talent, its about accomplishing great things with what you have. Don’t get it twisted…Beyonce is a hard working woman. She has the kind of brand/name recognition that it took her predecessors a lifetime to achieve.

True genius isn’t measured by dollar signs. if the girl had to write hit songs with no help and couldn’t sing a note, she would be hustling oranges on the freeway offramp.

By the way for the poster who said Single Ladies/Cater to You wasn’t legend material…when was the last time you listened to Tina or Aretha’s discography? Steamy Windows? Private Dancer? Who’s Zoomin Who? Just Right Tonight? A Deeper Love? It ain’t all Whats love got to do with it and RESPECT. I will say that most of Aretha’s is quality compared to Tina’s suspect list….which is very dated…I don’t expect to see it outside of VH1 Cl*****ic or those greatest hits infomercials at 4am. I’m not hating on Tina…I’m just saying that while you are defending her ability to get back up off the floor and change her wig…she is very much a niche artist.
yes, but at sixty or seventy years old she’s still doing her thing when and where she wants to. beyonce’s club banging days will be a thing of the past.
As for B’s acting skills…short of her cutting all her hair off and playing a transsexual she probably won’t be getting an Oscar any time soon…but I think she’s a decent actress and until I see her only getting straight to video work…its apparent (at least to me) that Hollywood thinks she’s viable.

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Elvis’ movies but he basically played the same character over and over again and you don’t have any problem with people calling him a legend.

Beyonce is still at the beginning of her career…the only direction to go is up. So yeah she’s a legend already…you just haven’t realized yet.
