Boys Under 12 So. Cal Soccer Team Making Noise World Wide With This “Barcelona” Brand Of Soccer

This team travels to Spain every year and beats the actual Barca Youth System Teams. They have done it 3-4 years in a row and are dominant in Southern California…. which is the best in youth soccer out of our 50 states:

Want to know why England are so far behind the world’s top teams in terms of tactics and technique?

Then take a look at this video, unearthed by our friends over at the Who Ate All The Pies blog, of an American under-11s side who take their name, strip and philosophy from Barcelona handing out a footballing lesson to a team named, ironically, after Arsenal.

There’s much to admire in this amazing video – not least the way the Barcelona-USA youngsters steadfastly refuse to hoof the ball long, preferring instead to build from the back every time. Could you imagine English kids playing like that? You rarely even see it from the seniors.

This Barcelona-USA side are so good, in fact, that you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching the actual thing.

The goal that starts at 3:20 in is particularly special.

The Barca Academy out of So California produces really good teams at the boys u13-10 bracket. One of the staff has a boy that played for the club and in his bracket the Barca Academy team is #1 in the state (with our boys team being a close second to them and gaining fast)
